Hi ladies 💕

13dpo today and af is imminent as temp dropped to cover line plus a bfn. So who's joining me?
TTC #1
This will be cycle 13 since mmc (Feb 19) but been TTC since June 2018 so a horribly momentous month for me.

Bought some vitamins recommended by it starts with the egg for this month and also male conception tablets for DH. So we shall see 🤞🏼

Lots of luck and baby dust to everyone 🍀🌈💕

@Mococo1 I'm not a huge fan of lube tbh I've probably used it a handful of times and it really doesn't do it for me, I don't get the tingly ness it makes me feel like my vagina is on fire 😂 and TMI but honestly don't need it because OH makes me feel so good we don't need any extra lubrication🙈

They are expensive but it takes the guess work away from you and it's my first month trying trying and used these and no problems so far! I probably won't test again today as me and OH will probably DTD when DS has gone to bed anyway so won't make a difference if I know if I'm peak or not and then can check in the morning 🙈

Mococo1 · 21/05/2020 17:50

@lucyrp yeh it tries to mimick the best conditions for sperm to thrive in! Was thinking to buy and use this month but think DH would believe I'm going overboard and over thinking it all x

Fingers crossed it works for you this month and I have no clue on these digital CB test you have mentioned with flashing smilies and now wondering if I should invest lol

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 17:45

@Mococo1 I'd never even thought about it mimicking EWCM! I'm doing the SMEP this month !

Mococo1 · 21/05/2020 17:39

@lucyrp apparently it has a 40% per cycle success rate along with their vitamins who knows!!

@Noble89 I am exactly the same as you CD6 and last day on AF. Just got my period now 6weeks after my mc (unplanned pregnancy on the pill @6w1d) so now officially ttc- and not sure what how long my cycles are going to be. Before I was on the pill they were around 30days so no clue if they will snap back to normal after no pill/mc

Is anyone else planning on using the Sperm meets egg method this month? X

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 17:36

I am torn between testing again today with my CB digital after getting my flashing smiley this morning ?!

Noble89 · 21/05/2020 17:08

Hi ladies,

I'm jumping on board properly now. I came over from the may bus but have taken a few days off as honestly I think o was too stressed and obsessive last month and I don't think it did my chances any favours!

CD 6 today for me and the last day of AF. My cycles have been all over since my miscarriage but we're down to 29 days last month which is much more like normal for me so taking that as a sign my body is back where it needs to be. Ovulation was CD16 last month so I'm going to start OPKs from Sunday probably.

Where is everyone else in their cycle?

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 17:04

@Mococo1 omg I didn't realise that's what it was for! I wondered why lube would help you conceive😂

Mococo1 · 21/05/2020 16:58

Oh it seems we're all in the same boat trying to be relaxed when we aren't!

I read that with two very healthy people and everything perfect you still only have a 20:25% chance of conception each cycle and that reduces as you get higher into your 30s. Thinking about the number of times I've rolled a dice and it gotten the number I wanted makes me realise that it really is just luck sometimes

Has anyone heard anything good on the conceive plus gel? I've heard a lot of people have quick success on that as it can mimick EWCM x

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 16:28

@Juno231 you are so right - interesting to hear your boss said 5 months was quick - actually nice to hear that!. I do think we sometimes put pressure on ourselves to get pregnant right away and when it doesn't happen you think automatically ally there's something wrong - but actually it's probably more 'normal' for it to take a while! Xx

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 16:19

@watermelonwizard yup. I'm a definite over thinker too! Always have been, and am prone to anxiety a lot too. Trying to stay relaxed and keep perspective during this very strange time we're all in right now!

@coolblue22 the TWW is the Two Week Wait between ovulation and a BFP/period x

Cocoblue22 · 21/05/2020 16:05

@kirsty0028 welcome! I am new this month too!

Just reading through and @Maybe333 I was going to ask the same questions I take pregnacare and prescription folic acid that’s what I took in my last pregnancy with DS1 I didn’t find it altered my cycle at all took it for a few months prior to TTC.

Also what is a TWW? @TTCgee

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 15:59

@Cocoblue22 I'd probably have to not buy any ovulation sticks for 4 months to save for the monitor 🙈😂 it probably works out at about £20 a month this way

Cocoblue22 · 21/05/2020 15:53

@lucyrp yeah it is expensive but the sticks for it work out about £15 a month one box does two months from what I can remember. I guess it depends what you spend on the other ones each month? I like the convenience that it does it all for me!

@TTCgee I’m CD10 and got high this morning think I normally have 28 day cycle if I remember correctly from before DC1 but been on pill since so hoping it will still be the same!

Juno231 · 21/05/2020 14:59

@Maybe333 lool I have zero advice as I've not managed to dial down the crazy just yet! I'm on cycle 5 now and so many of my friends seem to get pregnant at the drop of a hat so can't help but compare and wonder why it isn't working.

I think it's important to remind ourselves that it's perfectly normal for it to take up to a year. A colleague of mine said it took him and his mrs 8 months and he made a point of how normal it was as she'd been on the pill for over a decade so of course it takes the body a while to bounce back from that (that calmed me down!). Another colleague said his mrs got pregnant really quickly - it only took them five months... again that puts things into perspective for me. So think big picture and try to keep yourself busy!

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 14:54

Hi @blodyn91and welcome! I'm new to this too! RE exercise I agree with not introducing anything new, I would say carry on as normal until you get your BFP and even then there is lots of advice on how to exercise when pregnant through the different trimesters. Good luck to you and in the same boat with postponing a wedding. Bummer isn't it, we were going to start trying immediately afterwards but now thinking, why wait, hence TTC now.

@Maybe333 I can imagine how you feel because I am an anxious person and overthinker, but if you read the stats, it can take several months for no apparent reason, so try not to stress (easier said than done) I am on cycle 1 so I will need to take my own advice if I get a BFN, which wouldn't be abnormal as I've just had my coil removed!!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 14:53

@Minster2012 I had a 10 pack and bought a 20 pack but have not yet opened the 20 so not sure whether to test again this afternoon or just leave it but what if u leave it and get a static tomorrow then I may have left it too long 🙈

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 14:51

@Maybe333 I know exactly how you feel. We've been "trying" since august last year and wasn't really that fussed over it I just hoped I would get pregnant soon and then when I had my faint positive last cycle and had a CP it's like a switch goes in your brain and I've turned into a mad woman ever since. now we are "trying trying" I'm searching everything on google, trying everything we can and DTD as much as physically possible. I don't think you realise you want something until the possibility of it happening arises and then it's taken from you.

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 14:18

@Maybe333 I've been asking myself the same a for months! Haha...

We literally said: let's come off and what will he will be! I felt soooo chilled about trying until I got my first negative then it was like a switch in my brain and I just got panicky! I think because for me I was on the pill so long and this will be my first so I just get those horrible moments where I'm like 'what if I actually can't!' These groups help massively tho! As my hubs is very supportive but again like yours lot sound very much 'Let me know if you want to talk' as he has no idea what's going on either! Xxx

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 14:16

Also hi to anyone new! 🥰🥰

I think the usual advice is you can keep up your 'normal' exercise routine but try not to introduce anything new or too intense if you don't usually? I must say I've been lifting less heavy weights and if I'm on a run in the TWW it is in the back of my mind a bit! But I do think Keeping healthy is a good thing for conception so I'd say you should be fine! Xxx

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 14:14

@Minster2012 my CM stresses me more than anything else!!

I've never seen the EWCM! Do always get 'watery' but this month is the first time it's gone from watery back to sticky and I'm supposedly in fertile week so don't know what's going on! Argh. I wish it was just that you could get pregnant on any day! Imagine how much easier life would be 😂

Minster2012 · 21/05/2020 13:54

@lucyrp I haven’t tested with CB again in the day since having flashing smiles but other ppl have, I only have a few sticks left & don’t know how long my cycle is plus I’m using ICs so I figure no point. Glad o haven’t as I’m now on day 5 flashing 🙄

@Maybe333 I take seven seas trying for a baby I also heard pregnacare can lengthen cycles so I didn’t want to risk it

& for whoever asked about the temperature thing, I started doing it but my sleep is so erratic & with a toddler I didn’t want to set a specific alarm for “doing my temp” OR feel guilty for having a glass or two of wine that I thought it wasn’t worth it - I’d rather have the wine 😂

After 5 days flashing smiles & still 0 in my IC strips there may be progress 🤞🏻🤞🏻I’ve just got a 30 on my femometer strip 😱😱
Still very confused by my CM, one bit seemed stretchy then the rest very white & sticky so WTF?! But hey maybe tomorrow is the day!!

blodyn91 · 21/05/2020 13:46

I'm another stalker of this thread. So hi all.
Short introduction- So came off the pill in April as we have had to postpone our wedding, original plan was to start trying in October, but we have decided to try for a short window just now. I have no idea what all these gadgets you are all talking about are 🙈 I had my first period the other week so was happy my cycle is back to normal. Using my garmin to track ovulation and currently in 'fertile week'. So yeah trying to remain relaxed. Not bought any tests or anything, will wait till I've missed AF. I exercise a lot, like 10+ hours a week, so not sure if anybody has advice of excessive exercising? I eat tonnes, weight is normal, and been exercising lots for years so nothing new.x

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 13:44

True, its all a mind melt isn't it!
Happy to try anything really.. Didn't think I'd be getting so deep into this.
We actually said at the beginning we'd just let nature take its course and let be what will be... Well 2 x BFNs later and I'm so deflated.
I know many women in here have been TTC for very long periods of time so I do not want to be 'woe is me' because its only been a few months but I can't help but worry. How do you step back and keep your anxiety at bay?

Juno231 · 21/05/2020 13:24

@Maybe333 I take pregnacare and it hasn't affected my cycle at all. Women do report it does though - apparently it's the vit B complex in it? I wonder if that's not for the best though, and that those women previously had too short follicular or luteal phases that got sorted out by the supplements?

Mococo1 · 21/05/2020 13:15

@notyetamumbuttrying @Maybe333 I just read the packet! Let's see if does anything to change.. I'm planning on doing egg meets sperm programme so I should know in the next few weeks if I ovulate later than normal!

DH is taking the men's supplement and I guess it could get pricey over a few months but he is a smoker and has cut down but struggling to quit completely! Might give FA itself a try after I finish as I bought 2 packs of pregnacare Grin
