I can't seem to see a thread for this so thought I'd start one. Any other girls with cycles shorter than 28 days please join and let's discuss! Mine fluctuates from 24 to 26 days, I usually ovulate day 10 on a 24 day cycle and yet to track when I ov on a 26 cycle but I would imagine it's day 12. I have a normal LP of 14 days but would love to have a longer follicular phase. 8 months of trying. I'm 34, husband is 37.

@slimshadyscousin can I ask about the seven seas you are taking? Are these pre conception vits? I’d love lighter less painful periods! And looking in to some vits for conception.

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 20:36

Yep @Nat4392 it really is! I can tell my Dh hates the fact I'm forcing it cos we have two really good sessions and in the old days that would be it for a week but I'm sat here now in my sexy nightie just waiting for his food to go down so that I can try it lol! He's knocked me bk before and it's crushing! 😖 I hate ttc!

@notyetamumbuttrying I can’t do another CB now as after you get a static smiley it is locked on the screen for 48 hours 🙈
I’ve noticed EWCM and ov pain very few times so they’re really not reliable signs for me, it’s reassuring to know others don’t get it either! We DTD day 8, 10 and 11 and we’ll do it again tomorrow. It is so unromantic when it’s scheduled in like this, it’s the worst sex ever! 🙈

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 19:59

Isn't it weird that they're either 24 or 26 and not 25 😂 exactly the same as mine @slimshadyscousin. cd10 is usually my ov day too but been taking agnus castus this month and I've not hit my peak yet. I'm cd10 today! Good to know it's still possible to catch on early ov. I've read so much to the contrary but then so many girls have caught no problem!
Same as me @Nat4392 I don't see ewcm either! I have had ov pain maybe once or twice before. I think see what your CB says tomorrow and hopefully that brings clarity. You've been dtd anyway so you're prob covered. We've only done it twice so far, need to get hubs in the mood later although he's complaining of a bad belly 😬.

@notyetamumbuttrying I rarely get much in the way of EWCM and don’t think I’ve ever noticed ov pain either so other than the tests I don’t have much to go on! I’m inclined to believe the clear blue due to its reputation but it’s now making me doubt every other month using strip tests. TTC is a load of shit! 😂🙈

@slimshadyscousin welcome! Honestly this is prob not the best time for me to recommend tests as I’m having a right palaver with right now! 😅 I’m 10 cycles in now and I mainly use the strip tests which have always been fine, I find I have to use them several times a day when I get closer to suspected ov so I don’t miss my peak. I’ve used the CB LH (pink) tests which were good and so simple to use (basically a yes or no so there’s no guesswork). And this month I used the CB advanced which are basically the same. The only downside to the CB tests for me is cost x

slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 19:30

Hi all 😁 currently TTC #1 cycle 2, currently in my TWW. My cycles are 24-26 days, I ovulate about CD10 then have two weeks of driving myself mad! I started taking Seven Seas a couple of months ago which has made my periods lighter and shorter, no complaints there. I have been pregnant twice before so I know it’s possible for me.

@Nat4392 would you recommend the CB ov tests? I am using ICs at the moment which are fine but I find my surge is incredibly easy to miss!

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 19:21

Clear blue is the leading brand @Nat4392 so I'd be tempted to believe them more. Do you get ov pain at all or can you tell with your cm?

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 19:14

I’ve used the cheapy ov strip tests too today and they are high but definitely not peak, which test should I believe?? Is the clear blue more accurate? I’m so confused!

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 10:58

Ooh good stuff @Nat4392 I thought we were gonna be ov twins for a sec there lol! Best of luck in tww from tomorrow then!

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 10:48

Actually just just a peak now! That was unexpected!

Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 10:29

@notyetamumbuttrying that’s brill news 👍🏻
I’ve not got my peak yet, I’m CD11 and it was CD15 I ovulated last month so I’ve got a few more days of BD to get out of the way yet lol

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 08:30

Still no smiley for me this morning @Nat4392 looks like it's extending it beyond 26 days for me. I might actually get a 28 day cycle at this rate! 😱 not seen one of them since my pill days! I guess you're in tww now. Hope this is your month!

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 25/05/2020 10:40

Ok thanks @Nat4392 will take it again today and see what tomorrow's reading brings! Yay to the flashing smiley!! This could be your month 😃

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 25/05/2020 10:35

I know I’ve just replied on another thread but I’ve taken it up until a peak OPK so I’d keep taking it. I was like clockwork and always ovulated day 13 but it was 15 last month, so I took it until day 14.
I got my first ever flashing smiley today after trying the advanced tests for the first time, exciting!

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/05/2020 08:52

Morning just wanted to share that I didn't get a smiley on my cb today so the Angus is working in delaying ovulation! Just a bit concerned I won't get it at all now lol! I heard you should stop when you ov but I'm wondering if I should stop now just in case it doesn't come at all?! Ah minefield! Any advice @Nat4392?

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 23/05/2020 16:10

I'm cd7 and usually ovulate on 10. Be interesting to see what the Angus does for me. I'll start with opk's on day 9 and keep ya posted!

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 23/05/2020 15:46

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m CD8 now and usually ovulate CD13 but last month it was CD15 after taking Agnus Castus so I’ll keep track with OPKs. What about you?

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/05/2020 15:26

Yeah defo @Nat4392 when are you due to ovulate next? I'm gonna wait it out as well.

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 23/05/2020 14:17

It gets confusing being on multiple threads and forget who you’ve spoken to about stuff so I tend to ask the same questions everywhere 🙈 I’ve decided against it now I think. I’m on cycle 10 so I’d be able to see GP at cycle 12 (hopefully) and get it for free. Fingers crossed I won’t need to get the that point anyway!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/05/2020 13:59

Hi @Nat4392 I see you asked the same on another thread but it'll be good to keep each other updated on here as so few of us and easier to catch msgs. I think we're quite similar in timings and cycle but you're one cycle in front. Praying we both get out bfp's before the year mark!
Everything crossed for everyone!

Nat4392 · 23/05/2020 12:12

I think I might order a progesterone test, does anyone know if taking Agnus Castus will affect the result? Is it classed as a hormonal medication? Should I maybe do the test next cycle when I’ve not taken any or will it be ok to do this cycle?

LuluFireray · 23/05/2020 11:44

If you want to order a test from let's get checked I got an email today saying to use code OVIA40 for 40% off

MimiArm · 23/05/2020 11:37

@Annabel19 I agree 100% - it's clear from everywhere that at 37, you should easily be able to get the blood tests so your current GP is just wasting precious time In my opinion.

The only good thing about short cycles is less time to wait for the disappointment and quicker to get to next month to try again!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/05/2020 11:36

@Annabel19 all I know about short follicular phase is that you ovulate early which means you released an immature egg. Those don't tend to fertilise well but then I've now heard from a lot of women who still get pregnant with early ovulation so I'm certainly gonna worry less now. I'll let you know what the Angus castus does though. It lightened my flow the last three days and also I took less painkillers day 2 so that was a bonus!

OP posts:
Annabel19 · 23/05/2020 10:49

Hi again @MimiArm yep, I’m thinking the same thing about changing GP’s. Waiting a year when I’m 37 goes against everything I’ve read. I’m also going to try the Agnus Castus if I’m not pregnant next month. I feel like so few women have these short cycles!
