Short cycle girls

I can't seem to see a thread for this so thought I'd start one. Any other girls with cycles shorter than 28 days please join and let's discuss! Mine fluctuates from 24 to 26 days, I usually ovulate day 10 on a 24 day cycle and yet to track when I ov on a 26 cycle but I would imagine it's day 12. I have a normal LP of 14 days but would love to have a longer follicular phase. 8 months of trying. I'm 34, husband is 37.

My DS is 4 now but when TTC I was ovulating early due to cycles that were same length as yours. I read that Evening Primrose Oil delays ovulation so tried it one month and rather than ovulating CD10 I ovulated CD12 and DS was conceived. May have been coincidence of course but perhaps worth trying?

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2020 12:45

Sorry to read about your losses @LosingtheTTCplot hopefully you get a sticky bean real soon!!
@Nat4392 even tho you won't do it today, you did it yesterday which is statistically better anyway as sperm is already there to meet the egg! Enjoy your day hun, it sounds lovely. I know how it feels with the pregnant friends too. My friend was ttc same time as me and caught first so now it's her updates but she's being sensitive bless her.

@slimshadyscousin try not to test too early, from experience, it’s full of heartache and wasted money! On my first few cycles I would test before AF but I’ve found it’s much easier to just wait for her to arrive. I know it’s tempting but when you are faced with consistent BFNs it’s really hard (although hoping you don’t get to the same time as me!)
Today is my ov day and we’re not going to be DTD. Yesterday’s baby making was just so god-awful and forced and it really took the romanticness and spontaneity out of it and we now both can’t be arsed! I’ll probably regret it when AF shows but it simply won’t be enjoyable.
I plan on sitting in the garden in the sun now and we’ll go for a walk later. My best friend just sent me a picture of her scan and although I’m super happy for her I’m just so bitter it’s not happened for me!

LosingtheTTCplot · 27/05/2020 11:59

I’ll join this thread.

Cycles of 25 days with ovulation on CD11, pushed back to there from CD7 with B6 and B vit complex.

Been trying for a year now, had 4 chemicals and finally got pregnant after taking Ubiquinol in March although had a MMC with an empty sac at 11+2.

Just finished the miscarriage, not taking anything other than folic acid and Vit D until cycle comes back and will try Ubiquinol and B6 etc again.

Might try AC as well.

slimshadyscousin · 27/05/2020 11:56

@notyetamumbuttrying brilliant! I find it so exciting when my LH surge happens. Good luck BDing.

Yeah I'm going to hold off until the weekend at least now, if only to save myself ££ on HPTs!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/05/2020 11:39

Hi @slimshadyscousin I got my smiley on opk today so will ov tomorrow. I'm very excited as that's me ov'ing on cd12 so at least my egg is mature! This is thanks to the Angus castus. I'm usually a cd10 ov. Means my cycle will be 26 rather than 24 days this month so I'm pleased! Hubby also seems on board when I said I wanted to do it tonight and tomorrow (even tho we'd done it this morning) so feeling all positive for once!

Hold out a few more days and test again. I wouldn't start until 12dpo personally but the temptation is wild isn't it lol!

slimshadyscousin · 27/05/2020 11:29

@notyetamumbuttrying @Nat4392 I think I will get some if we're not successful this time round...I did cave and test today, only 7DPO so knew nothing would come up but almost did it on autopilot! Noticed a dip in my BBT so got excited but tbh I haven't been tracking temps long enough to recognise what is normal fluctuations and what is an actual dip.

How are you both today?

Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 22:53

@slimshadyscousin yes this would be my first. I’ve tried Agnus Castus for 2 cycles now. Last cycle I ovulated 3 days later than usual and my LP was unaffected but AF was weird. Then this cycle I’ve ovulated a day earlier than usual so I have no idea what’s going on. I’ve also changed to seven seas TTC vitamins this cycle (was on Tesco ones before), I don’t know if that affects cycles much but it’s a possibility

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 22:51

@slimshadyscousin it's all about before ov so you're covered if you did it plenty then!
Yeah we both take it. (Me and @Nat4392)
There's a whole Angus thread in fact lol! It's made me ov later as I would usually on cd10 (today) and haven't had my surge on the opk yet.

OP posts:
slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 22:46

@notyetamumbuttrying urgh I know, we DTD the day after my LH surge and then I wanted to the day after but by that time we were both knackered and I had a pounding headache. I just hope all the BD we did before ov counts. I did show my DH the OPK showing the surge but he didn’t even know what he was looking at 😂

@Nat4392 is this your first? Sorry if you’ve already told me!

Have either of you had any joy with the Agnus castus?

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 22:31

😫@Nat4392 it's a bloody struggle this ttc lark! Do you tell him when you get a positive opk then? I did that once and he was like "that's not very romantic" get a grip mate lol!
Yeah same! @slimshadyscousin doubt it'll be from me anytime soon with my rubbish husband 😂

OP posts:
slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 22:20

Definitely! @notyetamumbuttrying I am looking forward to seeing some BFPs on both threads.

Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 22:20

Me and DH have been together 10 years so we are way past the doing it like bunnies stage. We barely did it once a week before TTC! He can struggle with it when he knows we’re both not feeling it. Most of the time it’s alright but when I get a positive OPK and the pressure is really on its definitely more forced. 10 cycles in we’re getting experts at having sex even when we don’t want to lol

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 22:12

Very overcrowded @slimshadyscousin!! It's nice having this smaller one with girls with similar cycles and we can chat and not get lost lol!

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 22:11

Yeah I would look if I was going in shops, thank god we can't lol @slimshadyscousin
Oh god, well hopefully you won't take as long as me. I'm losing the will to live, it's such a flipping ordeal! I live cycle to cycle 😩

OP posts:
slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 22:10

@notyetamumbuttrying just noticed you’re on the June bus too 😁 it’s a great thread but can sometimes get a bit crowded!

slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 22:07

@notyetamumbuttrying 😂😂 my DH is older too, bless him he has been ready for kids for ages but I kept putting him off! Fx for you soon, you must have patience at 9 cycles in. I’m going mad after 2!

slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 22:04

Oh thank god I am not the only one @Nat4392 I do love some of the Disney stuff it’s so cute! Thankfully the shops aren’t open or I would be wandering around the baby sections on the weekends

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 22:04

I hear ya @slimshadyscousin! Mine just can't bear the forced ness of it. We've been together 5 1/2 years now, married for 9 months so we're def out of the doing it all the time phase so it's weird now upping it. I'm all for it of course lol but Dh defo loses steam early on, he's only 37 so not ancient. I shoulda married younger shouldn't I lol!
So we're 9 cycles in now, nearly 9 months of ttc.

OP posts:
Nat4392 · 26/05/2020 22:01

@slimshadyscousin I must admit I’ve got 2 baby grows stashed away that DH doesn’t know about. I went to Disney for my hen do and bought them then thinking I’d be getting pregnant the month after, how naive was I?? 🙈

slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 21:51

What about you how long have you been TTC @notyetamumbuttrying ?

slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 21:50

Tbh @notyetamumbuttrying my DH is loving it but I’m with you it’s so much effort to BD every day during FW. This is only my second cycle of ‘properly’ trying after a half arsed attempt previously 😂 I’m pretty good at tracking my periods anyway so know what my body is doing and when. Except of course during the TWW then it’s anybody’s guess 😂😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2020 21:43

I literally hate ttc 🙈@slimshadyscousin it's just forced. We're a once a week type couple so to up that is proving difficult! We run out of steam early on in fw lol! I think we'll start a bit later on next month. How long you been ttc?

OP posts:
slimshadyscousin · 26/05/2020 21:35

@loladoodle won’t let me tag you for some reason but yes I am taking the seven seas trying for a baby - contains folic acid mainly and a few others. I would highly recommend them, they are only small so easy to take and as I said on my previous post they have made my periods lighter and shorter, although mine have never lasted a long time anyway! They also have ones to take during pregnancy and after too when bf so will move onto those hopefully when time comes.

@notyetamumbuttrying yes very odd! I don’t complain about short cycles too much as it means less waiting around. The only thing I worry about is that when I fell preg first and second time it was a total accident so I do worry by ‘trying’ it will put too much stress on the whole thing and Sod’s law won’t happen!

@Nat4392 thank you! Yes I must admit the cost of CB did put me off quite a bit, I will prob persevere with the ICs for now and if we aren’t successful try the CB and see if it makes it any easier.

Anyone else been looking at baby stuff? I haven’t bought anything but a baby grow to give to DH if/when it happens but there is so much lovely stuff out there it’s soooo tempting to start buying already 😂 def lost the plot

Loladoodle · 26/05/2020 21:02

Also short cycles here, always have had and have 2 children and 1 mc.
