Ok, girls, our last thread did get crazy long so I am starting this one. If you don't like the name - well... too bad You'll get used to it over time .

ILTC, hi there sista! I feel like we're SO alike. Can you believe that my bleeding started again today? I was quite . And out of all places it started in a zoo when we were watching little sheep at the "petting zoo" section with DS and DH. Grrreat!~ Hope you're feeling better and this mess if over soon for all of us .

Rosybelle, hi there~ [sends a wave] Com'on over - sorry you're here but it's easier to get through things together. If you read my previous posts you know what I have to say - ERPC (or D&C) all the way. Good luck!

Scully, hi... you sound like me... actually my DH who is very much doubting TCC'ing again. And that's just after one MC! Well... we did have a stillborn DD1 but went on to have a beautiful DS. What would have happened if we got scared back then and didn't do it. Ooops, promised not to talk about it until mid-Oct. That's when my MC blood/ tissue results are back from the lab to tell us what was wrong with the baby. We agreed we wouldn't make any decisions until we find out.

Cricri, I know you won't be chechking this thread until later but hope your weekend in Holland is fab!

Hugs and smooches to all!

Hello all,

I saw the consultant today and now feel worse than ever. He doesn't think my last mc was due to measles he blames the stitch and says that I probably didn't need it in the first place but because I had my mc whilst it was still in place my cervix could be damaged now. He hasn't put a suture in for a woman since 1996 as he thinks they are unnesscary. Every 6 months he sees about 3 or 4 women who like me were treated at different hospitals and were given stitches, he has recommened that they all have regular scan with an emergency stitch if needed and no one has needed one for over 10 years. He told me the decision to stitch or not is mine but like me is worried about the damage from the mc, he has offered regular scan from 12 to 34 weeks fortninghly at the begining then weekly then fortninghly again. I think I will go for the scans but he said either way there is a risk of mc. I really am scared of having another late loss and I know if it happens agian dp won't try again. I am going to see hime again in four weeks to give him my final decison and I will have a scan at the same time. I feel sick at the moment but that's to do with nerves.

flosspot · 10/10/2007 13:34

Ronshar- go to the doctor whenever but be prepared for an anticimax. Mine asked if I had done a test (laughed when I told him I'd done 12) congartulated me and told me to come back at ten weeks to get paperwork going. Because I ahd only had one mc there was no point in pushing me forward for scan....am still tempted to call epu anyway.

Know what you mean about going off cake- have gone off chocolate. It gives me heartburn. Where's the justice?????

lovelylou · 10/10/2007 11:57

Hi all. Am feeling really sad and just wanted a moan. I am so broody and so desperate to ttc but i still have to wait another three months. Miss talking to you all Ellie G, nh101 and popsy 76. Really down at the minute

PiggyPenguin · 10/10/2007 11:06

Frankielamb, so sorry to hear your story. Just to let your know, there is a new version of this thread running now 'october 2007 mc'. Make sure you post on it so that you get all the sympathy you deserve.

We'll be waiting for you!

ronshar · 10/10/2007 10:30

I cant belive that there are so many women going through the pain and trauma of a MC!
p2b and frankielamb, I am so very sorry for you and your babies. It is a horrible time for you both. Go easy on yourselves it takes a long time to get over losing a baby no matter when in the pregnancy it happens.

In my experience most people who know you have had a MC do not ask if you are trying again because it means they have to deal with the whole subject of MC.
Even my family who normally have no shame have stopped even mentioning the word baby, pregnancy, or having another one!! The only person who has the gall is MIL. But then she really doesnt give a shite about anyones feelings!

I am still pregnant at the moment. (.)(.) getting bigger but no little bump but then I am expecting too much as only a little bit pregnant.
Can I ask?? When should I go to doctors? Will they think I am nuts if I ask for scan etc as no bleeding etc???
Also the worst has happened. I have GONE OFF CAKE . Whats that all about?

ClairePO · 09/10/2007 22:07

Oh Frankie, so sorry for your loss and also for your friend. You aren't gatecrashing at all.

Just a dreadful situation for you all, all you can do I guess is go with how you feel with ttc. Don't really know what else to say just that I really feel for you and hope are OK.

frankielamb · 09/10/2007 22:05

Hi Im new to all this so please bear with me. I had medicall managed miscarriage end of july. went for the 12 weeks scan but no heartbeat. we were devastated as been trying to concieve since ds who is 5. I have just had my first proper period since and am thinking of ttc again, but this has been over shadowed by the death of my best friends baby. she has had 2 mc and gave birth to a boy bt he passed away. we are all struggling to deal with it, and i cant contemplate ttc right now.
Have been reading all messages and you all seam a really supportive bunch thankyou for letting me gate crash.

ladylush · 09/10/2007 21:45

p2b - so sorry to hear of your m/c. I had a missed m/c at 12 weeks (baby died at 8 wks according to obst, had been heartbeat at 8 week scan). It is very very hard to deal with. My thoughts are with you and I hope you conceive again very soon - and that the pregnancy is unremarkable in every way

ClairePO · 09/10/2007 21:30

Evening all, just checking in to say hi and hope everyone is OK.

p2b so sorry for your loss, hugs for you and hope you're OK after the worry today. Hopefully you can stay relaxed about trying again and sticky beaks will keep there noses out of your business.

Well I'm soooooooooooooo booorrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeddd with waiting for my first AF post m/c. I just want to get back to normal iyswim. And start playing with my LH pee sticks.

BTW been meaning to ask - can I go back to using tampons with 1st period?

katendmom · 09/10/2007 18:25

p2b actually before I read your post with what a nurse said - I was going to suggest the same thing. If you tested after mc and got a "negative" - then I would also assume it was a period (lovingly called AF on MN). So, believe it or not - congratulations! You're CD1 and it means in few short days you'll ovulate and on to baby-making-paradise!

Now, I can't imagine that somebody would actually ASK a person if they're trying, especially knowing they had a mc?!?!?!? If it happened to me - I'd turn around and respond: "I'm sorry, just to make sure I'm clear on what you just said - are you asking me if I'm doing my husband?" I think that should handle it. By the way ? other options are allowed for the word ?doing? in the sentence above

By the way - here is our new thread for October. Sorry, ILTS, didn't put anything about sausages there... I feel like it is such a precious thing that if anything - it deserves a thread of its own! LOL

just wanted to say a big congrats to sybil - great news!

Kensgirl- good to see you back- I had been fretting about your disappearance. Sorry you don't fel this cycle is the one- I do so hope you're wrong.

Come on ladies- who's next with the BFP? This thread seems to be having a lucky spell xx

p2b · 09/10/2007 16:09

Goingfor3 - thanks again for your replies - much appreciated. I have just rang the early pregnancy assessment centre where I had my miscarriage and spoke to the sister. She felt that because I had tested negative last week the bleeding I am experiencing is a period and not bleeding from retained products. Thank crunchy for that! For half and hour there I was losing it. Thoughts of having to go back to hospital /D&C etc..I am much relieved to think my body is hopefully on the mend. I hope my hubby and I conceive as quickly as you did.

cricri · 09/10/2007 16:02

p2b - also very sorry to hear about your mmc. I had one too at 6/7 weeks, although it was only detected at the scan. You put into words exactly what I have been thinking since the mc about nobody knowing we were ttc before and now everybody knows. Thanks to the others for their helpful advice on how to deal with that.
Have you had a scan since your medical management? It could be that you have "retained products", to use that delightful medical term, even though the nurse was confident everything was OK. The bleeding can stop and start in any case (see Kate's link below)
On the other hand it could be AF - others on this thread have had AF very soon after a mc.
Perhaps you could make an appointment with your GP to put your mind at rest?
In the meantime welcome to the thread and hope you get as much comfort and support from it as I have.
EllieG - really pleased everything went well for you at the scan. I can imagine it must have been very nerve-racking initially.
TJuice - LOL at the fanny physio! Do enlighten us when you eventually find out what's involved!
Hello to everybody else.

goingfor3 · 09/10/2007 15:52

I read that link and I bleed on and off for three and a haly weeks and then started period about a week and a half after that. I didn't have 20 days of no bleeding before my next period and got pregnant after that period.

goingfor3 · 09/10/2007 15:48

Cycles can be every erratic after a miscarriage for some it happens quite soon after for other the cycle may be longer.

EllieG · 09/10/2007 15:30

Can't advise, but sorry for your loss p2b

Hugs to you splishsplosh - I know how crap it feels to not be having the same so was very sweet of you to be so lovely x

p2b · 09/10/2007 15:12

Help!

I've just read this post www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm
which was highlighted a while back and now I'm worried. Yesterday it was exactly three weeks since my missed miscarriage was medically managed and the nurse seemed confident all products had been passed. I used a pregnancy test last Monday (around the same time I stopped spotting) to check levels and it came back negative. Yesterday, I started bleeding again and until I read this link I assumed this was a period. Would 21 days from the miscarriage be long enough for a cycle? Does it matter if the miscarriage spotting only stopped about a week ago. Would the test have been negative if I still had traces of the old pregnancy inside? The pregnancy was missed a long time before medical management (about 6 weeks)so maybe hormone levels were lower and thus period came quicker? Argh...can anyone advise?

spookykitty · 09/10/2007 14:56

Afternoon ladies have only had a Viennese Whirl at toddlers this morning cake wise

I'm CD6, Cycle 2 TTC#3, mc August

p2b - so so sorry for your loss, agree it is a very raw emotional time especially as you thought you were "safe" past the 12 week mark. I agre with the thought everyone knows you are TTC now and it being a bit awkward. If anyone asks "are you trying?" I say "we are waiting and seeing" bit vague but better than the truth "yes we are desperate to have another baby, used opks, timed sex, spotted EWCM last month does that answer your question?"

kate - love the title can't believe we have filled up another thread already chatty lot that we are, thanks for the link the other day btw great info.

EllieG - never apologise for bringing us some good news, thats great your baby is doing well it also gives us all hope.

FlossieF - you poor thing you seem to have been through so much, mc is bad enough nevermind the rest, I hope it resolves itself soon for you x

iliketosleep · 09/10/2007 14:45

october-All about us ~BFP'S/MC'ing/MC'ed/TTC after MC or just loves cakes and ILTS has a sausage stall!!

iliketosleep · 09/10/2007 14:44

I may just try the sausage stall thing just for laughs

oh yeah and mention my sausage stall in the title

iliketosleep · 09/10/2007 14:43

sounds good to me! definatly mention about the bfps too as i reckon we should have at least another 6 by the start of november if this one is anything to go by anyway!!

katendmom · 09/10/2007 14:34

Ellie HOW FAB! Congrats and enjoy every moment of it now. Did you get a picture to take home?

Rosy... can't wait to hear from you on how things went with your little one.

ILTS, good idea about starting a fresh thread... given that we're so chatty... how about we try and start a new one every month? I just know that we will fill one up in about 30 days if not quicker. This way we can have the same title (so people can easily find us) but just update with the month?

Like "October - All about us ~ MC'ing or MC'ed or TTC after MC or PG, or just loves cakes!"

Feel like we need to add "PG" so our BFPs feel free to stay!

Then "November - All..." What do you guys think?

splishsplosh · 09/10/2007 14:29

hey we're all doing xposting.
EllieG - so happy for you (but selfishly sad for me at same time cos can't help thinking that I would have had 12 week scan last week or this) - but you really deserve it. Hope you got a lovely picture to keep.

ILTS - I'm sure that receptionist would be all too sympathetic re sausage stall. They would probably drop prescription round for you themselves!

splishsplosh · 09/10/2007 14:24

p2b, so sorry to hear your story. I know what you mean about feeling like something was going to go wrong - I mean, I know everyone worries anyway, but I was reading the mc threads a week before I started bleeding, and had this really weird feeling like it was inevitable I would mc.

Try the link that Katendmom posted a short way down, that has lots of really helpful information about mc, possible causes, tests they do, and also about ttc

katendmom · 09/10/2007 14:23

P2B as others have said ? I?m terrible sorry about your loss. It really makes little difference whether it is an early mc or later in the term. It is a loss of a baby, a loss of dreams and just one of the life?s biggest downs? You have come to a good place. This thread has girls with all sorts of experiences and in all different stages of healing. We are also very lucky to have a few who are already well underway with BFP

As far as your tests go ? I would actually say, have hope. They might be able to tell you more than you imagine (GF3, I think you?re right that in some cases they don?t find anything but since they told me the ?whole story? in both of my situations, I have lots of hope for them ). From your blood tests they?ll be looking for signs of infections, viruses, clotting factors, progesterone levels, etc ? things that could cause a mc from the ?mom?s? side. From the baby?s results they?ll be looking for chromosomal, developmental, etc issues ? things that could cause a mc from the ?baby?s? side.

I had pretty much one of each smile. We lost DD1 at 35 wks (she had a chromosomal abnormality ? so yes, you can go far beyond 2nd trimester with a baby who has chromosomal abnormalities; some of them can even go full term and be born). Then we had a healthy DS. In September I had an ?early? mc (at about 8 wks ? sorry, unlike many girls here I am selfish and have deliberately blocked out dates/ EDDs, etc). This baby too had chromosomal abnormality.

So, if I were you ? I would definitely not lose hope as far as what these results might tell you. As far as TTC? see for yourself. It?s very personal. Also, you will go through ups and downs. A few wks back there was nothing more that I wanted but to be pg? I am in a bit of a different spot now? Maybe it?s my selfishness kicking in again? GOOD LUCK. Please feel free to throw out any questions you might have? or just hang around for stories of others? {{{{huge teddy bear hug to you}}}}
