This is more of a cry for needing someone to talk to post 😭

My partner and I have been trying since last year to conceive well last October.

I have irregular periods so never actually know when I am ovulating.

We have sex at least 3 times a week.

I feel like everyone is getting pregnant but us 😭😭😭😭

We are trying to keep it a secret to so no one knows so difficult not having anyone to talk too.

My doc said they won't do any tests on me until 1 year from coming off the pill. 😢

Inositol/inofolic for irregular periods, should regulate them.
Use natural cycles (you won't see a pattern till cycle 2/3 but totally worth it)
Once you know when you are likely to ovulate dtd every other day from 5 days before till day after.
My final trick (first used the month I fell pregnant after 11 months of trying) was to use the 'mooncup trick' (inserting a menstrual cup after DTD to keep the semen in over night, gross but it seemed to work for me!)
Good luck x

@RileyF12 any update? Did you do another test since?

RileyF12 · 09/05/2020 17:53

I know I was thinking possible evap which I've never even had.

I tried putting this effect on the pic... I've read you should try that? I don't know why tbh

I can see something yes but very faint, could be an evap, can't really tell :s you should try again tomorrow morning with you first wee! See if you get the same line!

Fingers crossed!! 🤞🏻

RileyF12 · 09/05/2020 17:25

Girls am I going off my head or is that a faint line? Or is it possibly an error? I really want it to be a line but I've always had completely nothing whenever i do a test xxx

It sounds like too much hassle but really it only takes a few secs in the morning, I have the alarm on my thermometer and just go back to sleep once Ive done it. I think it's worth it, especially when period are not regular.

FourPlasticRings · 08/05/2020 10:48

You want to do it before you even get out of bed, at the same time every day. It should be the first thing you do and takes a couple of months at least to start being useful from an ovulation standpoint, from what I've read. I looked into it a while back but decided it sounded like too much work.

lilypad88 · 08/05/2020 10:22

@RileyF12 oh I see... and your doc don't want to do tests??! Wth?!

Well It could be 2 things, clearly your temp is dropping, so could be that tour are about to ovulate or that you are about to have your period, if it was pregnancy your bbt would stay high or be on the raise.

But saying that, during anovulatory cycles, bbt tends to fluctuate quite a lot for some people so can't tel for sure...

I don't know how you take your temp, but it took me a couple of cycle to take it right, make sure to always take it same time every morning (between 6-7 am is the best apparently) and don't make any big movement before taking your temp this can cause weird fluctuations too..

But defo start looking at your bbt and take it everyday too! That will really help you understand what's going on with your cycles. Hope it helps! Smile

@lilypad88 I have irregular periods, I haven't had a proper period since last October.

Two months ago I bled for three weeks.

Depends, where are you at in your cycle? When was your last period?

RileyF12 · 07/05/2020 18:17

@RileyF12 without knowing if you've ovulated or not it's hard to say tbh :/ it could be ovulation/pre period/pregnancy symptoms... it's hard to tell just like that

RileyF12 · 07/05/2020 16:32

So this is now the third day in a row and my stomach has been in knots! Normally I have an upset stomach once and that's it but this is the third day in a row. I've been feeling so agitated recently too and my skin on my face is a mess!!

Surely this had got to be some sort of symptom??

Earlier on today I also felt a sharp twinge down below near my ovaries

Don't loose hope, I got my BFP last week after 16 cycles!

Defo recommend tracking your BBT, I used femometer it is fab 🙂

BrooHaHa · 06/05/2020 21:48

Just DTD every other day, Riley. Then it won't matter when you ovulate.

lilypad88 · 06/05/2020 21:45

@RileyF12 ohh so you are not tracking your ovulation at all?

I started bbt and opk charting since march and I find it really helps to spot ovulation coming, at the same time it did put a lot of pressure on our couple cause when you see it coming it's all you can think about, so something to take into account. But it helped me found out that I was actually ovulating a lot later than I thought!

RileyF12 · 06/05/2020 21:38

@lilypad88 I don't no what dpo as I have irregular periods it's a nightmare

OP posts:
lilypad88 · 06/05/2020 21:38

And yea I'm using fertility friendly lubricant too but hasn't done anything, I'm even getting paranoid about it now and thinking maybe it's actually not good and best to avoid

lilypad88 · 06/05/2020 21:37

@RileyF12 Ha! Yea, same here... every month I feel like I have new symptoms xD I think it's just us noticing what our body does now that we are ttc. But fingers crossed this time is a good sign for you!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 what dpo are you now?

RileyF12 · 06/05/2020 20:52

@lilypad88 so we have been using conceive plus lubricant ( bought it from amazon) obvs I'm not pregnant so not really working for us but we are still using it.

I'm so sick of feeling differently then thinking of this could be it.

This week I've been having an upset stomach , constantly going to toilet, peeing a lot and I'm so bloated my stomach is solid. My face has also broke out really badly I'm praying this is some sore of early symptom.

lilypad88 · 06/05/2020 16:05

@RileyF12 thanks, yea doc said the exact same to me, I did have my ovaries tested though because of my painful period, I manage to get an ultrasound scan and no cysts but have all the other symptoms of PCOS so don't really know what to think and doc doesn't want to do more test before 1 year of ttc as well... I've embarked on a healthier diet and lifestyle though, can't do me wrong... how have been your journey so far? Are you trying new things or just waiting to see what happens?

@Zofloramummy ah yea it definitely adds stress, no doubt about that, I'm tracking like an OCD maniac! But at the same time I find I've learn so much about my body, it's pretty awesome how the body mechanics work and at the same time so frustrating when it doesn't go the way it should 😣

CurlyEndive · 06/05/2020 12:58

That's why they don't do the tests until you've been off the pill for a year OP. It can take a normal healthy couple up to a year to conceive. So it would be a waste of time and money to do the tests, come back with no issues, then the couple gets pregnant anyway within a couple of months.

Zofloramummy · 06/05/2020 12:51

Took me 18 months and was just put in the waiting list for tests when I fell pregnant. Sometimes I think the stress of monitoring, planning and testing just adds stress and doesn’t help at all.

I do remember thinking why the hell had I bothered with contraception for years as I’m obviously not that fertile!
