Thank you ladies!! 11dpo, and just "had a feeling" so thought I'd test. I've had some cramping the last few days and felt a bit nauseous this morning but otherwise nothing is different!! We did SMEP, and I've been taking prenatal vitamins since I fell pregnant the first time in November-I just kept taking them after my MC.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/06/2020 19:01

Congrats @peonyrose87!! How exciting 🥳

Congratulations @Peach1204 good to see some happy news!

@bee1311 I'll check those apps out, thanks! I'm not sure I'm enough of a morning person to do the thermometer thing properly, it needs to be done as soon as your eyes open pretty much, and I'm a snoozer with my alarm!

I'm looking forward to getting back into a normal cycle and getting more intune with my body, hopefully I will get to notice the signs myself.

The thing I read was that when you stop the pill, the first bleed is a withdrawal bleed, rather than a period - so basically I won't have a real period until I have a full cycle. Some people do fall pregnant in this time, but it makes it harder to date the pregnancy apparently. I'm not sure how big a deal this is!

It must be so hard not to test early. I'll try and be strict about that too.

Love that you've just adopted a dog from abroad! My friend is in the process of doing the same thing, such a lovely idea. If it's meant to be all at once it's meant to be! 😂

bee1311 · 17/06/2020 16:18

@crabette I use the app clue and Ovia. I've never tested with a thermometer and it seems to confuse me! I tend to just listen to my body and see how it feels. After a few times I think you'll notice.

I haven't been on the pill for years so don't know anything about having a first period and things. I haven't been on any contraception actually, plays havoc with my body!

It's so hard not to think about it. I'm already a bit obsessed haha.
I won't test no. Last time I think I tested too early and got so excited then the loss, it was a bit much. I'll just wait and see if my period arrives and go from there!
We've just adopted a dog from abroad so it'll be just my luck if I fall pregnant at the same time 😂

There's loads of things to read online about it, but maybe it's better to be unaware so you're not symptom spotting xx

crabette · 17/06/2020 15:49

Hi @bee1311 - lovely to 'meet' you!

Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

I totally get what you mean on not actively trying but not being careful!

I am super uneducated on how or what to track - I have got a thermometer, and thought about trying to do it through the natural cycles app? But I don't think that works until after your first normal period post-pill, and it takes a while to catch up with your cycles becoming more regular again, so not sure how useful that will be so soon post-pill. Have you been tracking? What have you been using?

I think we'll do similar - not actively try but not be careful! - until after my first 'real' period. Then I think I'll find it difficult not to be checking temps and counting ovulation, even if it isn't that accurate! It's so funny that as soon as you even start to think about considering it it's all you can think about! Fingers crossed for you that the heartburn and hot flushes are a sign... are you going to do a test? I don't even know how early you can do a test, this is how new I am to this! Blush

bee1311 · 17/06/2020 14:49

Hi @crabette your situation sounds similar to mine!

My partner and I are both 32 and this'll be our first. I had a miscarriage back in November and we stopped trying then for a while but now we're not actively trying but not being careful if that makes sense haha

Kinda just seeing what happens and not getting too obsessive about it all, but I'm sure I'm pregnant already 😂 I keep having horrific heartburn and hot flushes (I did the first time round) but it's only been a few days since ovulation!

Are you going to track everything or see how it goes?
X

Hi guys. I was looking for a place to post on the TTC board, and this thread seemed like a friendly place, particularly as I'm 32 and just looking at TTC for the first time. Hopefully it's ok to jump in!

I'm not sure if now is the ideal time to start or not with everything going on - but we've both been keen to start a family for a while, and with being in our 30s, (DH is 34) we're just not sure how long it will take so are keen not to put it off much longer.

We're actually due to get married in 6 weeks 🙈 and we'd been holding off trying til after then - so we'll hopefully be having a small elopement, with the idea being that we're looking TTC as soon as possible.

I have zero knowledge on how things work, but I've been on the pill up until now - and heard you shouldn't properly try until after your first real period post pill? Has anyone stuck to this? I'm on my withdrawal bleed at the moment, so think this is me officially off the pill to TTC!

Good luck to everyone, lots of baby dust x

Rma13 · 17/06/2020 12:19

@Peach1204 congratulations!!!! So happy for you!

Peach1204 · 17/06/2020 11:26

@Sakura54 thank you so much, I think that's adding to the shock! I phoned my Drs and I'm on the call back list so just waiting to hear from them. Xxx

Sakura54 · 17/06/2020 11:11

@Peach1204 congrats! You see, didn't take long for you at all lol. From my experience, things are more or less still the same during the pandemic, apart from having appointments over the phone. Different places have different procedures and a lot of hospitals let you self refer. Do keep us updated, it's lovely to see some positivity.

Peach1204 · 17/06/2020 10:21

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you! So this month we dtd every other day in the FW and DH has been taking the Wellman fertility tablets. I was already taking seven seas trying for a baby. It's so early days and I'm worrying already! Xxx

Peach1204 · 17/06/2020 10:19

@helia thank you so much. I'll give them a call and find out what the procedures are with Covid still going on. Xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 17/06/2020 08:46

Congrats @Peach1204 defo a positive result! How lovely! What did you do differently this cycle?

helia · 17/06/2020 08:44

Congratulations!

When I found out I was pregnant I rang my GP surgery who sent me in to pick up some forms to fill in. I filled them out, gave them back and then a midwife called me to arrange a booking in appointment. I didn't need to see a GP.

Peach1204 · 17/06/2020 06:24

Guys! AF hasn't come so I did a test this morning. I think it's a BFP?! Shit! Attached test. When can I do another one?! I'm shaking! DH doesn't have a clue right now. What happens next?! What am I doing?! It's very much wanted but I don't believe it! Help! Xxx

Then it's the joy of the tww, not! GrinYou?
