Opk as pregnancy test.

Hi everyone.
Wondering if anyone can help me. I’m 8 DPO and my OPK have become nearly as dark as the test line and was a little darker today. Has anyone else had this, could it get darker and lead to BFP.

@motherofdinosau AF showed up!! Along with a wonderful infection 😂😂 doesnt do things by halves does my vagina haha!

@motherofdinosau it probably is that. I’m just freaked out because I’m getting EWCM like I would during ovulation and it’s not cloudy etc. It’ll probably be AF.
I don’t have any as I try not to buy unless I’m late for AF to stop myself obsessing.

@Lollilou1234 it could be LH surge before af arrival, as you have spotting she may arrive overnight. Do you have a hpt you can use for fmu?

Sorry to butt in BUT I am a day late to AF - I’ve been spotting very lightly so completely expecting it to turn up tomorrow. However, after reading this thread I decided to do an OPK (I can’t stop peeing so I’ve literally gone to the toilet about a million times today and I’ve been so thirsty so drank plenty of water) and I’ve got a second line on my OPK test????!!!! I’m deffo not ovulating - I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms so I dunno what is going on!

@Sophiehannah95 yeah I keep all of the test strips that I do and they are very faint. Even though I do ovulate I never get a super dark line.

This is mine when I started testing before ovulation.

@Talb93 I'm not sure those are dark enough tbh. You can also get a small surge before your period is due.

Yes I had such a dark one when I was around 5 weeks pregnant!!

They can detect pregnancy as they can't tell the difference in Lh & Hcg but you also have a LH surge when af is due so I wouldn't rely on it as it could also mean your period is about to start

So this is Saturday, Sunday and Monday (today) what do we think or am I going mad about it being darker than when not ovulating ? Just confusing as I never really get very good lines on them from LH surge x

@Sophiehannah95 when I got pregnant with my son I used an ovulation strip as a test when I was 2 days late for AF and got a very dark positive, I then confirmed with a pregnancy test. So I do believe they can work to test too x

Ah how exciting for you Smile mine isn’t as dark as that but I’m 8DPO so I’m going to see if it gets darker or not.

Omg this is happening to me too! I’m 10DPO and got this today, very dark line. I hope it’s a good sign for all of us xxxx

Can I ask how many days before your period you did the tests? Like i said I am 6 days until AF and for some reason yesterday I took a OPK and was darker than when I began testing at the start of the month. Today it was a bit darker. Little confused x

This is what happened to me last year, I took an OPK every day which always gave me a positive/almost positive result - thought I was having a crazy long surge until suspicion took over and I took a pregnancy test!

My little line on a stick is a gorgeous three month old now. Smile

Same as me then dark but not as dark as rest line. Think I’ll do a few more and see what happens over the next week and then wait to see if AF arrives. I’ve ordered some more tests just incase. X

@Talb93 my line is very nearly the same shade as the test line but not as strong as it was earlier this month. It was the same shade yesterday as well. No idea what it means (if anything at all!)

Last month i had a lh surge at 11dpo (got my hopes up!) and af arrived the next day... Everything crossed yours stays dark for a few days xx
