@MrsEmilyB we have 3 top contenders.

Our absolute favourite is Sullivan but slightly worried our families would twist their faces at it so keeping it under wraps from them!

Second favourite is Elliot, and I hadn't heard of any little ones with this name (more people around my age) so was really keen but recently i've seen it gaining popularity again which i'm not sure about.

Third is Archer, we love Archie but our dog is Alfie so felt it was too close. Archer was suggested by my OH and at first I hated it but it's grown on me a lot.

Not sure why we have thought in this much detail when not even preg yet but you can never be too prepared haha!

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 21:13

@Panda789 Autumn is a lovely name but yes definitely feel your pain if someone else has named their daughter that!

@KateColx I am noticing everything! I had a twinge in my bum cheek last night, think just a bit of a trapped nerve as it seems a lot better today but I was trying to convince myself it was a 'good sign' 🤣

MrsEmilyB · 24/04/2020 21:11

@FoxRedLabrador welcome! So nice to have a big group on the mad May bus of baby making haha

@krk05 - I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. But you're right, it only takes once and don't forget those swimmers can live up to 5 days!

@1izzie - ahh I know I'm hoping one of our friends or family members doesn't steal the name before we can! DH's cousin is currently pregnant with twins! She already has a LG called Matilda so I'm betting we get some beautiful vintage names from them! Hoping to god she keeps her hands off India and Florence though!!

@SarahTTCx - ooh what boys names do you have in mind??

@katecolx - fingers crossed for us indeed. Lots of baby dust!

KateColx · 24/04/2020 20:55

@MrsEmilyB hi lovely! Yes we did, hopefully this one will be a lucky one for us ☺️

Anyone else found that since TTC that you notice every tiny thing? All of a sudden I'm noticing pains and twinges that I'll 100% of always had, but now I'm starting to notice 😂 one thing I've had since my ovulation date is a cracking headache 😩 not the sort of thing I normally get but manic working from home is probably to blame!

Hope you're all having a nice Friday night x

Panda789 · 24/04/2020 20:49

I agree Charlotte/Lottie is a lovely name! Haha I have been thinking of names for months and not pregnant yet 😂 that's one of those most fun parts! I did like the name Autumn but someone I know just named their baby that! So I'd rather choose something else now x

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 20:18

We have agreed we aren't telling anyone at all that we are TTC, I think it's too much pressure and I couldn't bear all the questions. I already get the 'you've got all this to come / wait until you have kids' from all my work colleagues when moaning about their children. I'm the only one in my small team who doesn't have children (also youngest by at least 10 years! 🤣) which at the moment is quite irritating although only meant as lightheartedness I know.

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 20:15

@Panda789 I know I love it! Also decided today I like Charlotte, with potential for Lottie for short (not keen on Charlie nickname but it's an option for the teenage years!) don't know why I'm thinking so ahead when I'm not even pregnant 🤣

babyG123 · 24/04/2020 20:00

@FoxRedLabrador I have told anyone TTC. My SIL is 7m pregnant and family is bad enough with the pandemic with her they'd defo have something to say not that it's anyone else's business I just can't be bothered with the convo!

Panda789 · 24/04/2020 19:55

@Ltay2 Ella Raine sounds pretty together!! My friend's little girl has Raine as a middle name 😍

@Wolfgirrl for about a week I decided I'd wait with everything going on.. then I thought actually this could go on all year and I really don't want to wait that long! X

SarahTTCx · 24/04/2020 19:45

@1izzie i've also got the nursery mapped out in our spare room, my boyfriend has been warned that i'll be a woman on a mission once we conceive and he's promised to stay well clear unless I need him to build furniture haha!

I struggle so much with girls names, boys names are an absolute breeze for me. I think that's because my partner agrees with almost all of the boys names I love but he thinks the girls names are a bit "fluffy" apparently! It's going to be a challenge all of its own if we conceive a girl!

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 19:39

@FoxRedLabrador that makes sense, you have a period for a week, you're generally not fertile the week leading up to the next period date, if you have regular sex for the other 2 weeks at least it'll happen. I see a lot of women end up only having sex on their fertile week after months of trying and that can't be great for the relationship.

@Ltay2 I think some test after BFPs but also people test like 6 days early but don't trust the negative result and then will test every day up to their period. Each to their own I just think that would make the whole process a bit sad for me. Also OH says he'll hide them if I bring him a negative test and tell him there is a really really faint line, so can't risk getting lines eyes 😂

@Wolfgirrl I think TTC in general is a really personal decision, tbh I didn't even consider not, I had a MC in March and really desperately want to start a family. Having the MC kinda taught me that nothing is guaranteed so I wanted to start trying straight away. If I had any underlying medical conditions, didn't feel like I had job and general financial security, if I was younger 🙈 or was concerned about self-isolating then maybe my decision would have been different. The only thing that was a talking point was the fact OH may not be able to attend appts but in private clinics he can. I'm also in a position where if the whole nhs went to shit I could (don't want to) afford to get a private midwife. If the NHS staff are allowed to work until 28weeks in this pandemic that is an indication to me that it is maybe more scaremongering than anything else. My friend is 30 weeks pregnant and she said it's actually made it easier as she is basically on paid mat leave early, but it depends what kinda person you are. I'd never forgive myself if I didn't try and when I started I couldn't for some other medical reason. Sorry for the long post 😬 xx

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 18:40

@FoxRedLabrador Definitely! Think there's a few of us on this thread that are very similar in dates so that will be exciting keeping track!

FoxRedLabrador · 24/04/2020 17:54

@Ltay2 Will be nice to have someone to ride out the wait time together! Also agree with waiting to do tests. Don't think I could cope with disappointment seeing negatives from testing early. At least when AF arrives it's a new cycle and new chance. We agreed to wait until I'm at least a few days late...easier said than done though isn't it? 🙈

@SmileyT Estimates from tracking my cycle in an app and CM. Been hoping to relax and have sex at least every other day through whole cycle (and making the most of the extra time together during lockdown!). Can't help but feel like I should be doing more to keep track though.

@1izzie I can imagine exactly what our nursery will look like too! I know it's early in our TTC process but I think it's lovely to talk about these things and make it all the more real. I also love Florence for a name but doubt OH would. Every name we have proposed the other one hates 😂

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 17:54

@Wolfgirrl Me and my OH had this discussion as we didn't really start TTC until the whole pandemic was already well underway (we had planned to start but obviously didn't anticipate all this going on). We eventually came to the conclusion that it's not going to all end any time soon and whilst we would have been happy to hold off a month or 2, the reality of it all 'going back to normal' in that time was extremely slim and we really didn't want to put it off anymore, especially as it could take many months before TTC is actually successful.

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 17:51

@1izzie I imagine my suggestion would go much the same way 😂 whilst it is technically an old fashioned name I think he'd see it more as a bit too 'unusual' for his liking!

Wolfgirrl · 24/04/2020 17:50

Hiya! Hope you dont mind me popping into your thread to ask a quick question, I dont want to start a fresh one as it's probably been done to death already. I'm keen to ttc number 2 soon, I dont know whether to wait until corona is over or not? Obviously you are all going ahead ttc so just wanting to see what your thinking is really!

1izzie · 24/04/2020 17:37

@Ltay2 I love Raine! I suggested it to my OH and it was quickly shot down 😂

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 17:10

I love the name Ella for a girl. I like Raine too but I'd probably have it more as a middle name as I doubt the OH would go for it 🤣

1izzie · 24/04/2020 17:01

I am absolutely loving the baby names and nursery chat :) I've mapped out the nursery for our spare room in my head! I LOVE the name Florence but my friend just called her baby girl that this January so got to rethink now! I do love classic names like James etc for a boy but not sure as they're so common!

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 16:51

@SmileyT Thank you for the advice! I am going to try to not test early as I know I could potentially be setting myself up for early disappointment, as there is always the potential it could turn out to be positive. I'd rather just be patient as much as I can. With testing so many times in a Cycle I assume that is testing after the BFP has already appeared to check it's still there few days later?

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 16:46

Welcome @FoxRedLabrador this is definitely a positive group. Definitely agree about not telling people we are TTC - I think it's nice for it to be a bit of a surprise and something special between me and OH without people constantly waiting for the announcement. How are you tracking ovulation? xx

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 16:41

@Noble89 yeah I'll definitely be waiting until 12 weeks but OH is on nights now so will have a nosey at the YouTube videos over the next few nights.

That's fair enough about not liking alcohol don't bother with it, it's just extra calories and makes you feel like crap, really no benefits 😂 I'm using the cheap femometer strip ones and CB digital alongside it, just to see what they both say (the cheap ones were only £10 for 30 lh tests and 20 pregnancy tests so 🤷🏾‍♀️)

@Ltay2 I have the clear blue pg tests which I read were pretty reliable but I think it depends how much you are planning on testing. In my last pregnancy I took one test when I was a week late and never took another one (apart from at Drs) but since being on TTC forums it's seems to be the norm to test about 5 times each cycle. I don't want to test before AF due as I think I'd find it sadder getting a negative than getting my period but FRER seem to be the go to if you want to test straight after implantation (about 8/9dpo) 👌🏾

Also loving the nursery chat ladies 🥰🥰🥰

KRK05 · 24/04/2020 16:31

@Blossom93 Thankyou so much! 😊 That's best way to just try to hold out without adding stress of pregnancy tests before AF into the mix aswell, although that is easier says that done 😜 just got to stay positive & remind ourselves it's supposed to be enjoyable & fun & a beautiful thing TTC, instead of stressful & becoming less enjoyable!

I definitely recommend First Response tests for anybody testing early though I got a clear positive 6 days before my AF on them, but then not everybody's the same but they do seem the best for seeing line progression & easier to read than blue dye tests!

I personally do think I'm out this month though 😭 I think I've got a tummy bug so DTD is the last thing on my mind & dont want to force it for the sake of it! Weve only DTD CD8,9,13,15 although I dont know why I'm stressing considering I'm sure I was preaching the other day about how it only takes one time 😂

Ltay2 · 24/04/2020 16:29

@FoxRedLabrador Welcome! Your cycle sounds almost exactly the same as mine. Also Cycle 2 of TTC baby #1. Ovulation was yesterday and AF due 7th May!

Panda789 · 24/04/2020 16:21

Welcome @FoxRedLabrador 😊 so nice to have a big group of us! Sending you lots of baby dust! Xxx
