@Noble89 I didn't get a flashy that's why I was so confused went straight to static smile but I'll take it, hope you get yours tomorrow. I'm definitely going to imagine all your posts in a Geordie accent from now on 😂 I'm actually from Essex and live in North London now but lived in Sheffield for nearly 10 years and loved it.

@Ltay2 fingers crossed for your test in the morning, how many dpo will you be?

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 18:36

@KateColx Well yeah exactly 6 days so why not cave 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 it's so funny cause I used to read threads & think oh that must be so stressful always testing & waiting etc so I promised myself I wouldnt ESPECIALLY on our first month TTC but yeah I'm only human & doing the same 😂 but next cycle I really really hope I chill out a bit. Its harder in lockdown though theres not much else to do apart from obsess even more about everything 🤦🏼‍♀️ My OH is so chilled & laid back, I'm the complete opposite x

DKDK123 · 01/05/2020 18:01

@Noble89 Thanks for sharing your story it must have been a horrific time for you, over the moon for you that you've finally been given the go ahead and crossing everything that you don't have to wait too much longer to see those 2 lines appear 🤞 So spooky but comforting about the timing too, you may have spent today feeling really down otherwise but this news was exactly what you needed 😁

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 17:49

I don't use the clear blue test kits just simple One Step ones but once I notice the second line getting a little darker I test twice a day too. Sometimes can be nothing much to see in the morning but a very clear, dark line in the evening so always best to double check!

@Noble89 I am not far from Preston ☺️

Noble89 · 01/05/2020 17:31

Thanks ladies 😊

@SmileyT @Ltay2 big up to the northerners! I'm from Newcastle. How about you guys?

Awesome news you got your peak! When did you get your flashing smiley? Just this morning?

I started testing day and night once I got my flashing smiley. Last time I was TTC I missed my peak and like you learned it can be so short you really need to test morning and night xx

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 17:07

Northerner here too 😜

SmileyT · 01/05/2020 17:02

Ahh so happy for your news @Noble89 this must be a big weight off your shoulders. I know it sounds silly but just reading your story over the last couple weeks has really made me feel more hopeful. And to get the news on what could've been a sad day for you is even better... roll on your rainbow when he/she is ready to come. Also if you were looked after in Shef I'm guessing you are a northerner so I like you even more ❤️❤️❤️

Side note I read a thread about testing in the evening with CB aswell to catch your peak so I tested today when I got in and got my peak, so maybe try twice a day to check you don't miss yours xx

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 16:53

Decided I'm going to do a test in the morning, just can't stand the wait any more 😂 I am fully expecting it to say nothing, I know it's still too early and it's not going to ease my anxiety at all but I feel like I need to do it 🙈 whatever it says then still going to test again on Tuesday or wait until AF due on Thursday.

KateColx · 01/05/2020 16:42

@KRK05 I mean, you're in the 6 days, I feel like it's absolutely fine 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I'll definitely be starting my obsessive testing again from Sunday 🤞🏻 haha I am so with you, literally every twinge or odd feeling has me on google! I hope if this isn't my month that I get over the obsessive symptom spotting soon 😂

Oh god tell me about it, each Monday I'm like yep I'll eat healthier this week then by Wednesday I'm nailing chocolate for breakfast. X

KateColx · 01/05/2020 16:35

@Noble89 oh gosh I'm so so happy for you 💕 how scary it must have been for you to go through all of that 😔 so pleased that you can now stop worrying and can create your little rainbow baby 🌈✨💛

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 16:02

@Noble89 I am the same I had never heard of a molar pregnancy, how frightening & heartbreaking that must have been for u, devastating u had to go through that 💔 I am so glad after all this time u have had the all clear from the hospital & sending u the best of luck for your rainbow baby 🌈 u deserve it 💜

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 15:55

@Noble89 Aww yes such a nice sign!

Noble89 · 01/05/2020 15:53

@Ltay2 thank you! I'd never heard of it either!

I've also just realised it's the 1st of May and today would have been my due date! I'm taking that as a sign from my little angel baby that everything is going to be ok ❤️

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 15:49

@Noble89 Oh wow, how scary that all must have been for you! I must admit I'd never even heard of a molar pregnancy! So, so happy you have now got the 'all clear' to start trying again - wishing you all the luck in the world and glad you have found this thread for support 💕

Noble89 · 01/05/2020 15:33

Omg ladies I just got the news I've been waiting 6 months for and I need to share!

I've told bits of my story but basically I got pregnant in August 2019 and had an early scan at 8 weeks which showed the baby was measuring 2 weeks behind. Everyone told me I had my dates wrong and everything was fine as there was a heartbeat bit I just KNEW something was wrong. I went for my 12 week scan on 21.10.19 and my fears were realised. No heartbeat and baby was measuring 7 weeks. I opted for a D&C and had that on 24.10.19 and thought that would be the end of the nightmare...how wrong I was.

I got a letter around 3-4 weeks later saying they'd carried out pathology on what was removed as my placenta looked abnormal and the results indicated a molar pregnancy. It came with a leaflet which talked about cancer and chemo and hysterectomy and it put the fear of God in me.

I waited 2 more weeks for an appointment at my local hospital which was supposed to be with a gynae consultant but instead was with a junior doctor. Now molar pregnancies are super rare...and this junior doctor clearly didn't have a clue. She told me I'd need chemo (which I knew from research wasn't necessarily the case) and just kept giving me conflicting information so I demanded to see a consultant. The consultant arrived and apologised and said actually it's so rare that all molar pregnancies have to be dealt with by a specialist hospital and I was basically ushered out and told a specialist centre in Sheffield would contact me about treatment and monitoring.

Basically a molar pregnancy is caused by one of two things. You can have a complete mole which is when one sperm fertilises an egg which is 'empty' in that it has no chromosomes from the mother. The other type is a partial mole where two sperm enter a healthy egg so the baby is 'triploidy' meaning it has 3 sets of chromosomes (one from mum and two from dad) which means the baby can't survive. A complete mole has around a 20% change of becoming cancerous and a partial somewhere under 5%. Thankfully the specialists in Sheffield re-did the pathology and confirmed I had a partial mole. You then start monitoring of HCG which is the pregnancy hormone. As long as this continues to fall to normal pre-pregnancy levels then you don't need treatment. If this plateus or rises this indicates that placental tissue is growing out of control and this leads to cancer. I was lucky in that I never needed chemo and never developed cancer but it's taken 6 whole months for me to hit a normal level of HCG in my system. I was told last month that my levels still were not normal but as it was coming down and was now almost normal they were comfortable for me to try again hence being on this thread. You can't try again until they tell you as obviously a new pregnancy will trigger a rise in HCG which is the only way they can be sure nothing sinister is going on.

Well today my day finally came. The hospital just called and confirmed that after 6 months of constant blood tests and worry over my future health and fertility I'm finally at a completely normal base level HCG and I'm being discharged.

I wouldn't wish what happened to me on my worst enemy. But for those of you worried about previous miscarriages or how long it's taking to conceive I'd say just try and relax and enjoy it. Because yes bad things happen sometimes, but you can come out of the other side with some hope xxx

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 14:26

@KateColx Definitely try it it works 😂 so I read the instructions inside the packet for First Response they give an example, so if your AF due the 21st can test earliest the 16th (which is 6 days) so yeah Saturday earliest I could test & Sunday for u. So obviously I am now more than likely gonna test tomorrow 🙄😂 I know the symptom spotting is madness, I had an icky belly last week TMI but apparently that's an early pregnancy sign who knew 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm definitely putting it down to the amount of crap I eat in lockdown haha x

KateColx · 01/05/2020 13:47

@babyG123 ah I wish I was like you! It definitely does just add more confusion into it all, but the temptation gets the better of me 😂

@Noble89 fingers crossed for ovulation soon🤞🏻thank you, that makes me feel better ☺️ hopefully I'll get my BFP at 11DPO on Sunday x

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 13:40

@babyG123 Must admit it does dissuade me from doing it early when I see everyone's confusion and added anxiety by testing early! It is one of the reasons I haven't given in yet.

@KRK05 I'm the same as you, I know full well I'm not going to get the BFP this month. Of course it's always possible but I just feel it would have been too 'easy' and too good to be true to have it happen so quickly. I feel like I never get the easy route in life so I'm expecting a challenge ahead 😂 I've got low down cramps today, mostly in the middle but then sometimes on the left side only but I am anticipating it to be early AF pains. No other major symptoms to report really.

@Noble89 Oh I know, cruel Mother Nature making AF and pregnancy feel the same 🤣 I am 8DPO today and this is only our second cycle so not too optimistic.

KateColx · 01/05/2020 13:37

@KRK05 haha that is exactly what I mean!! There's all these stories that it makes you feel disappointed when you don't get an early positive. 100% trying your tactic tomorrow morning 😂

See I didn't really understand the 6 day rule either, I was going with because I'm due Friday that I could test from Sunday? But I mean who am I to talk, I tested about 10 days before 😂

It's weird how we notice everything now isn't it? I got a really sore throat and felt like I had a cold coming around ovulation time, and then realised I get that every month but never know it was linked 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Noble89 · 01/05/2020 13:20

Hi ladies,

Just playing catch up on the thread.

I'm on CD13 and have been getting flashing smileys since CD11. My cycles are anywhere from 28 to 33 days since my MC so frankly ovulation could be any time in the next week. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

@SmileyT - As if your DPs friend lives with you too. I swear we're the same person 😂. He moved out yesterday and I'm loving being able to walk around my house naked again 😂. Also meant DP and I got to have a bit more fun with this TTC lark too which is nice!

@DKDK123 I totally get what you mean. MC sucks but at least you know you can conceive which I think takes some of the worry away. We conceived quite quickly with the molar pregnancy so although it was an awful experience the doctors assure me it's a complete freak occurrence and I basically just got very unlucky. It sort of gives me hope and peace that I know we can conceive and there's nothing 'wrong' with me or DP that caused the miscarriage.

@KateColx you're still super early so don't be discouraged by the BFN. I was like you and couldn't resist testing early so I completely understand the urge. I got my BFP at 11 DPO last time if I remember correctly and had had a BFN the day before so I'm sticking to no testing before 11DPO this time.

@Ltay2 it's so frustrating that the symptoms of pregnancy are basically symptoms of AF coming! Fingers crossed it's a little bean causing those symptoms! Where are you in your cycle

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 13:08

@babyG123 Hahaha good for u not being sucked in by it 😂

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 13:07

@Ltay2 Omg yeah it's so hard seeing everybody's posts of there BFP so early before AF 😂 tempts us all so much haha! How have u been symptom wise? I keep having a giggle to myself cause I just know this isnt my month I'm just testing for the sake of it 🙄 but then I didnt have any symptoms with my son, especially not so early on I only really had heightened smell but then wasnt until was further on. My pregnancy was a breeze! When I tested early start of March I had no symptoms then either I just tested because I came across posts of people testing early so thought I'd do it & was shocked so I never seem to have symptoms. I've also had 2 miscarriages before my son & only way I knew was because AF was late!

babyG123 · 01/05/2020 13:03

I'm having the opposite reaction to people testing early 🤣🙈

So many nervous unsure confused mummas and I'm bad enough without that haha

Ltay2 · 01/05/2020 12:52

@KateColx @KRK05 I'm so glad it's not just me that feels influenced by other people testing early 😂 also in terms of timing of testing, as far as I can make out it is xx days before your MISSED period. So if your period was due today it wouldn't be considered missed until tomorrow. Mine is due Thursday next week, missed would be Friday. That means Monday would be 4 days before my missed period (my tests are 4 day ones).

KRK05 · 01/05/2020 12:46

@KateColx Yeah exactly stay positive 💜 it is hard though & your right cause I just read a post & a girl took a test a week & 2 days before AF was a faint line & got pregnant on CB digital a couple days after, all before AF I was like okkkk thats it I'm doing mines 😂 but then had a talk to myself for being so crazy haha! Honestly when I woke up I was like 'right dont grab those tests & run to the toilet' 😂

Well I'm confused so I've got First Response so obviously 6 days early so technically I think I could test tomorrow cause I think u count the day your testing plus the day your AF due in those 6 is that right? It's just when I went on my Flo app this morning it says period due in 6 days so I was like hmm does that mean I couldve tested today! I was just waiting until Monday cause then my OH would be at work so I could hide in the toilet & obsess over it myself 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ my AF is due on Thursday the 7th. Dont worry I'm a nightmare too I cant keep up half the time haha x

Oh & I've had no symptoms what so ever, I def think I noticed my ovulation symptoms though I've never noticed before but cause I haven't tried to. The past couple days I've been bit moody & today bit crampy but that's not unusual for me before AF x
