@Jellybean252 congratulations lovely! Hopefully we'll all be joining you soon😊 I use OPKs as without confirming on the app when you actually do ovulate then it's all just averages and estimates and actually most women don't fit those. I think tracking with OPKs for a few months is a good idea but then of you're proven to ovulate at the same time every month then you can just go by the app.

@1izzie sorry to hear about AF 😔. Most of us have been there and it sucks. I remember being super upset last time but I read somewhere that even of you do everything right and it's all perfectly timed the chance of conception is still only around 25% each month. I feel like they lie to girls as kids and tell us is soooo easy to get pregnant to make sure we're careful but then they don't circulate enough realistic information to adults and we have unrealistic expectations. We're you using OPKs etc this month or timing DTD? In terms of telling your partner I learned last time not to share my symptoms with him. The symptoms of pregnancy mimic the symptoms of your period so closely and realistically you're super vigilant looking for signs so you'll probably have things that happen every month that you don't even notice that you will notice when TTC. Month 1 I was convinced I was pregnant last time as my boobs were a bit sore. Nothing horrendous, but definitely a bit sensitive and tender. I've since learned this actually happens every month about a week or so before my period. So I've taken to saying NOTHING about my symptoms or suspicions to my OH and I share them on here to get them off my chest as everyone here understands.

@SmileyT eeep hopefully this is the start of some signs! 7dpo is around the time you can start noticing symptoms so I hope that's what's happening! Poor DP 😂. They just can't win sometimes. I'm off for a good long walk with the dog, frankly I'm just trying to pass the days as fast as possible!

I am finding the nausea is immediately fixed when I eat. Again I just don't get it as it's too early to be pregnancy related but if it was a bug I'd assume eating would make it worse? I think it's my body playing tricks on me to be honest!

SmileyT · 09/05/2020 11:27

@Noble89 @beautifuldream
I'm now 7dpo and I've had some dull twinges in my right hand side this morning, I'm also feeling super hungry, emotional and kinda hating the sight of my DP this morning. He offered to make me breakfast and i was so irrationally annoyed at the idea especially as I now want him to make me breakie 😂 No nausea at all for me... I did a workout this morning and my body wasn't like the core exercises but that could be because I haven't worked out in a while 🤷🏾‍♀️ I'm hoping it's good signs for all of us xx

Jellybean252 · 09/05/2020 11:20

@SmileyT
Thankyou so much.
Yes, I think thats exactly what happened to me - I focused so much on DTD on my fertile days according to the app that in reality I was missing the actual ovulation day!
I hope you get your BFP soon fingers crossed!! xx

Jellybean252 · 09/05/2020 11:16

@notyetamumbuttrying

Thankyou! I hope you get your BFP soon!!
I was checking my CM each time I went to the loo Blush the eggwhite is there only for a short amount of time- for me anyway xx

SmileyT · 09/05/2020 11:15

Congrats @Jellybean252 and totally agree that my flo app is normally about 5 days out, but I'm using BBT and ovulation tests aswell as trying to track CM. We just try and DTD throughout the month as I read most people get ovulation dates wrong which means they are missing their chance.

Hope you have a happy healthy 9 months xx

SmileyT · 09/05/2020 11:12

Ahh @1izzie I'm sorry that AF arrived but as you say it's only the first month of trying so try and see it as you've had a full month of seeing what your body normally does and working out ovulation dates etc and now you'll be even more ready to hit the ground running this month. Last month I cried when AF came and I think it's alright to let yourself be sad but also remember this is a journey and ttc is just the start.

In regards to telling OH I have no tips as mine as interested in my cycle as I am, we basically discuss it everyday so he knows when I'm due on etc and he has told me when he thinks I should test plus if I get into bed with clothes on he knows 😂 so only suggestion is just to be honest about, it's a joint venture so it's not like you are letting him down, it just didn't work out for both of you this month xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/05/2020 11:09

@1izzie sorry to hear. I try not to say things like "ooh this might mean pregnancy" if I say out loud I have a headache or twinge etc. I also now just say "oh it's probably just my period" so that he thinks I know what I'm talking about cos I know my body etc. This way round works better for us. No ones getting there hopes up then. Wishing you all the best!Smile

1izzie · 09/05/2020 11:03

Hey everyone! So AF came by last night in full force - really trying to stay positive. It's only our first month trying so knew it was unlikely anyway but finding it really hard to not get upset.

I was just wondering what does everyone do about telling their OH? We were kind of trying last month and I was a week late so convinced myself I was pregnant then having to tell him when my period came was horrible cause I know he wants this just as much as I do and is so excited. I just really don't want to upset him so just wondering how everyone else copes with it? Sorry to be a downer just struggling today.

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/05/2020 11:01

Hi @Jellybean252 we've been trying since sept too for our first and still no bfp for me! Congratulations on yours, how exciting! I also use Flo and ov sticks but I do get positives on those so will continue. I can't rely on cm as I never see egg white, suppose I need to go hunting for it lol! Thanks for coming back and sharing your story. I wish you all the very best!Smile

Hello ladies,

I hope you don't mind me jumping on here!
I used to be fairly active on mumsnet earlier in the year (Feb bus etc)

I found these forums very helpful. The ladies are so supportive of one another in time where it can be so isolating ( if you are not telling anyone you are TTC).
I had been trying for baby #1 since sept 2019 and had started feeling very down every time AF arrived. It was beginning to consume my thoughts and I felt like it was ALWAYS on my mind regardless of time/place.
I left the forums as a way to "free up my brain" from thinking about TTC (to no avail ofc!). There were many meltdowns and bickering (with DH) along the road!
However, many months later I have finally got my BFP! I thought I would share where I think I went wrong. I was solely basing ovulation and fertile period off the flo app. However within two months of monitoring CM alone I managed to conceive!
I had tried to use OPKs since the start of TTC however I never had one positive result which confused me even more! And therefore resulting in me relying on the app even more heavily (I don't know if I had a faulty batch)

I just came on here to say I know what each of you are going through and to stay strong! You will all get your BFPs soon! Just try to go easy on yourselves and your partners- when the time is right it will work!
Baby dust to you all!
Take care ladies xx

beautifuldream · 09/05/2020 09:17

It is evening here is Australia - I am also 5DPO, feeling constantly hungry all day and very moody. I know this as I am being super narky towards my husband. I also feel sad for absolutely no reason. Does anyone else feel like that?

Noble89 · 09/05/2020 08:26

Morning ladies! 5DPO for me today and I'm still having that niggly cramping and I woke up feeling nauseous again. It's far too early to be pregnancy related as I know for sure when I ovulated. So either I have a little bug or my body is legit playing tricks on me which is very annoying.

How's everyone else doing?

Aj90 · 09/05/2020 00:54

Hi everyone nice to join the may bus I have been trying for a year not but I think I missed alot of the ovulation days hence reason for negative pregnancy test and went docters who also said my husband has low sperm mobility..but they did say we can improve it by improving his diets, lifestyle and supplements his been doing this for the last few months so hopefully this is a new start and we will get a big fat positive soon..my ovulation is due by this week on the 11th may we will be doing the deeds every other day from the fertile window till the end of the cycle fingers crossed... x

KRK05 · 09/05/2020 00:10

@SmileyT @Ltay2 Thanks girls 🥰 il start getting in a wee routine with it & so glad I dont have to hold for that long, when I read 4 hours I like WHAAAT there must be something wrong with me cause that's impossible 😂

@inthestars90 That is definitely positive. Congratulations 💕

inthestars90 · 08/05/2020 23:00

@SmileyT @Noble89 @notyetamumbuttrying thank you !! I am a bit disbelieving...will do the digital tomorrow before telling partner-he's so laid back about it all- if I said I wasn't sure he'd say just wait a week and test then! I'm patient but not that patient so I am yet to admit I have tested! It seems a lovely community on here Smile

SmileyT · 08/05/2020 22:38

@inthestars90 yep two lines so definitely positive, congrats 🙌🏾

Noble89 · 08/05/2020 21:52

@inthestars90 that's definitely positive lovely! Congratulations! Xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/05/2020 21:48

@inthestars90 defo a line there! Congratulations!! 🥳

inthestars90 · 08/05/2020 21:43

Hey! First time posting! Fairly new to MN.

I need some advice on this- is this positive?!

I'm 11dpo and have a short luteal phase so it should also be the first day of my period which hasn't shown yet.

I have a digital but don't want to waste it!

Thanks!

May Bus
SmileyT · 08/05/2020 20:45

@KRK05 I also never hold my wee for 4hrs I just don't wee right before I think it's fine 👌🏾

Ltay2 · 08/05/2020 20:45

@KRK05 Before lockdown when I wasn't working from home I would take them in the evening when I got home, usually around 6pm. Now I tend to take them mid afternoon, and then once I notice a faint second line then take them more regularly, one around 12pm then 6pm and once it is a clear positive then you can go to more 12pm, 4pm, 8pm to try and catch your peak!

SmileyT · 08/05/2020 20:38

@Noble89 I'm watching workin' moms on Netflix and it's been such easy watching today, a comedy about moms returning to work after mat leave 👌🏾 ahh I'm really getting to the point where I want it so much this month but honestly have not an inkling either way 😩 DP is working Sunday so I'll hit YouTube to distract me then and share my top tips x

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm also 6dpo had loads of creamy CM, last pg I didn't even know I was pg until OH told me to take a test at nearly 6weeks so no idea what was going on down there 🤪

@KRK05 definitely take the tests now and you'll find out what your baseline is for when you start next cycle. You also get a bit of a surge before AF so might give you a clue xx

KRK05 · 08/05/2020 20:35

@Ltay2 Oh that's good to know, cause 2 hours hold is a struggle for me 🙈 what time do u do yours? Cause I seen it says not FMU, my CB one is though but I'm not gonna use that justnow just incase AF shows in a few days & I've wasted some sticks (there too expensive to keep buying)

Ltay2 · 08/05/2020 19:57

@KRK05 I can never hold urine for 4 hours 🙈 I use cheapy OPKs and sometimes have only held urine for 1 hour but still get positives ☺️

KRK05 · 08/05/2020 19:27

@SmileyT I actually just says to my OH I'm gonna start using my cheapy OPKs starting from tomorrow just incase I'm not gonna end up with AF (gets the practice in too 😂) I wont use my CB though would rather save that for after AF. Although I did read to hold urine for 4 hours with the cheapys I'm lucky if I can hold for 2 so that's gonna be a problem 🙈

@Noble89 Omg I know it's like a whole new world 😂 I'm just so intrigued to know when I ovulate tbh it's like Christmas had come when they arrived in the post 😜
