Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

Thanks @Lolliloo1234 always there to cheer me back up!

Best of luck @BabyDust13 hopefully this month is your month! How long have you been TTC?

BabyDust13 · 03/05/2020 15:12

I'm 3DPO today I hate the waiting game 🤞🏼🌈

Lolliloo1234 · 03/05/2020 14:54

@mrsmummy111 well it maybe be later - cycle one I ovulated CD16, cycle 2 was CD17 and this month I’m bang on CD14 so hang in there - it may still be coming!

Oh Christ @Lolliloo1234 no I definitely didn't! Just randomly tested today. Ok they only cost me £15 so I'd rather keep trying to use them and waste £15 than potentially miss my ovulation! So I'll keep using them and hope I've not missed it then if no luck, next month I'll use them properly. What a bummer. We have been DTD though so who knows. I'm annoyed really because I was a bit nonchalant about it just assuming I could trust my BBT and always ovulated around the same time as I did when I conceived the first time, looks like I was wrong!

Lolliloo1234 · 03/05/2020 13:39

@mrsmummy111 with the clearblue - did you follow the instructions and start using them to test on the day instructed? I’ve not used the pink ones but the blue ones you have to start testing everyday from day 8/9.
If you’ve been DTD already sperm live for up to 5 days so don’t panic if you’ve missed it in that respect. I’d say DTD tomorrow and the next day just in case - your OPKs do look like they’re darkening!

Thank you so much @SmileyT for your advice it's super helpful as I've never used these before. I've either ovulated very early or am going to ovulate late because the clearblue test is still not detecting anything - just hope I haven't missed it!! How many times a day do you suggest testing with the cheapies?? Any of anyone's used clear blue is it safe to test once a day with these?? Thanks!

mrsmummy111 · 03/05/2020 12:32

Now I'm panicking I've missed it!

@mrsmummy111 thought I'd just jump in as I use these opks. With LH you will have a baseline throughout your whole cycle and then you will have LH released and it will peak and then it will reduce back to your baseline so basically the LH tests should pretty much be the same throughout cycle apart from a couple of days when you get your peak, so I wouldn't worry if you haven't seen them gradually increase towards ovulation. I've attached a pic of mine last month, you can see I literally only got one positive and if I'd been testing once a day I would've missed it, then it quickly goes back down to zero. Id also use pics to compare tests as once you leave them out past the 5minutes they will tend to get darker so can't really compare the actual sticks. Hope that helps a little and just keep testing a few times a day to make sure you catch it 😊

mrsmummy111 · 03/05/2020 09:21

Can anyone help?

These are my OPKs. They are all the same and I'm supposed to be ovulating tomorrow / the next day??? Surely that's not normal.
??

@Sammyclaire22 😂😂😂 I got a static smiley face on a clearblue today which means I’m ovulating tomorrow. I’m going to give it a rest today because after 3 times this week even I need a break - I still have to work!! 😂😂
Will DTD tomorrow on ovulation day and then will probs give it a rest. I’ve got to trust the Clearblue I guess! I’m having bad ovulation pains today.

Haha we are attempting smep too though I don't think my dh is aware that tomorrow is our 3 days in a row marathon... Will need a week off to recover!!

mrsmummy111 · 01/05/2020 17:22

Thanks @Sammyclaire22 !!

Ok great just didn't want to miss my peak but if it starts getting stronger or maybe tomorrow / CD13 I'll start testing a little more.

Yes we've DTD alternate days since CD8 and will do until I get a peak test then will try to do 3 days in a row to follow SMEP too. (I say try because DH is still working a pretty demanding job and we are definitely not one of those "3 times a week" couples!!

Sammyclaire22 · 01/05/2020 17:09

@mrsmummy111 no i would say you are doing fine- the average day is cd14 I think so looks right on track. Some apps suggest doing it more frequently once you get a high incase you miss the peak.
Fwiw i tend to start dtd alternate days once it starts getting stronger so I've had a few bd in the bag before ovulation day too (roughly smep) then I try to dtd the day of and after a peak x

mrsmummy111 · 01/05/2020 14:49

I've just been doing it once a day around lunchtime. Here are them in order from CD 8-11 top to bottom.
Line obv getting darker but should I be testing more regularly?

mrsmummy111 · 01/05/2020 14:44

Hi again ladies!
How often should I be doing OPKs? I am on CD 11 and normally ovulate around CD 14/15 (I think???) x

Sammyclaire22 · 28/04/2020 20:16

@mrsmummy111 how was your temp today? I'd imagine if it was a one off drop it was probably due to the bad sleep
The pale opk is normal if you arnt due to ov soon- look for it being as dark or darker than the control to know you are on your peak! X

mrsmummy111 · 27/04/2020 11:39

Morning everyone!

Welcome @BelleDell - you've come to the right place Smile sending lots of good luck to you on your first cycle!

I'm also CD7 today, but my temp this morn randomly dropped (it's my baby boy's FIRST birthday today - lots of tears) so I slept badly, think I was excited / emotional about today so not sure if that's why. But I took an OPK just now but forgot about it so not sure whether that affects it the same way as preg tests? Is there such a thing as evap on OPKs?

Anyway this is what it looks like. Presuming that's normal for CD7 if I'm potentially ovulating CD14?

Thanks you lovely lot

CD7 sorry - man I should probably keep a closer eye on it haha!

Hi @BelleDell

Of course you’re welcome to join! Big fingers crossed for you!!

Im cycle #3 but I think I’ve not been DTD enough so DP is in for a great time the next two weeks. I’m only CD6 so about to start the run up to Ov.

I’m trying to conceive baby #1 so I get how you are feeling. I can’t wait to be a Mum!

We’re here to navigate it with you!

Hi all,

Who else due AF around 8/9 May?

Can I join for this thread? This is my first MN post. 31, TTC cycle one. Nervous about TTC, feels like a new chapter has started and no clue whether it’ll be a happy/stressful/sad one. Excited though.

I’m 31, first cycle TTC. Currently 5DPO (is that the lingo). Trying not to symptom spot at all but of course that’s impossible right!

@Popcat120 congratulations. I hope your pregnancy continues very well, as there should be no reason it shouldn’t - so enjoy it :).

Snowberry4 · 27/04/2020 04:43

@popcat120 many congratulations!!!! Super thrilled for you!!! It's so nice to see a positive story and keep the rest of us motivated hehe.

I'm out this month and won't be able to join a May bus due to no ovulation meds left and appointment being cancelled by corona. But if everyone's still trying around july/August I'll be joining a bus thread hehe. Good luck ladies x x x

Sammyclaire22 · 26/04/2020 16:24

Lovely news @popcat120! As the others have said ignore half of the advice on here. All those symptoms could be pms, pregnancy healthy or otherwise- the point is they are all so similar and also can be caused by other things like stress or illness. I think your gut feeling is the one to go by and you have decent 'line progression and hopefully an exciting 9 months and beyond ahead of you!

Cd2 here so probably a other couple of days then need to get on with the bding incase ov comes early again. Happy to help with opk advise, I've used them for a while. Can send a photo of my progression over a cycle if that's a help? X

Wineandrun · 26/04/2020 14:40

@Popcat120 that’s fantastic, so happy for you 😁😁😁
