3dpo and looking for TTC friends

Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

Haha same! Im cd 12 and usually ovulate cd10 or 11. Still having ewcm so I'm assuming it's not happened yet. Don't forget the peak in surge can be up to 48 hours before actual ovulation so that would be today still. I think that's why the smep suggests dtd the day after expected ov too. I would go by your body but if you can't manage another session then you've done plenty in your fertile week to give it a good shot! No idea how im going to convince the OH to go again tonight lol

Lolliloo1234 · 06/05/2020 10:03

I am SO confused - clearblue said my ovulation was Monday. I got lots of EWCM on Saturday which indicated this is the case but the last two days I’ve got EWCM. It happened again this morning!
The thing is - even if we DTD today we’ve done it CD8,10,12 and swimmers got there cd14&15 through other means and DTD everyday isn’t recommended for quality.
I dunno whether it’s normal to get EWCM after ovulation. My ovulation date was cd14 this month but it usually is cd16/17 which would be today.
Clearblue is apparently 99% accurate.
Oh man this is so confusing!

@mrsmummy111 LMAO genuinely, you validating that I’m not bonkers is comforting.

I’m hoping you’ll not have to use them again after this cycle but if you do, keep them. It initially started because I wanted to compare my Clearblue results with the cheapies to see if they were worth £25 per cycle.
That deffo looks like you’ve caught your LH surge so you’ve got 12-36 hours before ovulation!

mrsmummy111 · 05/05/2020 10:46

Omg @Lolliloo1234 you're actually a genius!!!!

This was my clearblue this morn. Annoyingly I chucked yesterday's one because I'd be curious to see. So I'm assuming I'm definitely going to ovulate either today or tomorrow based on that GrinGrin so interesting!!!

Lolliloo1234 · 05/05/2020 10:41

@mrsmummy111 so the stick inserts into the clearblue have lines on just like your cheapie OPKs. Previously, when I’ve got my static smiley the non control line has been strong but not darker than the control line etc. This time, the line was darker than the control line. I keep the inserts each cycle because I’m interested to see how they work and have basically noticed that they do almost the same as the cheapies but they’re more sensitive and of course the digital aspect makes it a lot clearer.
I’m a weirdo I know 😂😂

I'm definitely no expert, but if it were me I'd try and do it enough to cover the day you think you ovulated, along with the day after (and maybe even the day after, just to be safe!)

Probably overkill given the situation yesterday though 🤣 and besides, even if you ovulated today you've definitely got enough to cover you from last night.

@Lolliloo1234 I'm such an OPK dummy, but how do you know it was a strong peak?

Lolliloo1234 · 05/05/2020 10:09

It picks up the two most fertile days so it finds you LH surge which was Sunday morning. It was super strong as well. Haha after yesterday’s debacle I may not push my luck with DP. I’ll gently suggest it but hopefully there’s enough swimmers in there already to cover me 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Sammyclaire22 · 05/05/2020 10:02

Does clear blue say you have ovulated or does it pick up the lh peak? It's not impossible to have a 2 day peak so I would keep going while you have ewcm just incase! The smep says to do it the day after ov too so can't harm if you can manage it!

I agree about others getting bfp- I was in another group and 4 out of the 6 did all in one month and it was so nice to have some renewed hope that it does happen eventually!

Lolliloo1234 · 05/05/2020 09:40

I agree - it’s nice to have people to talk to and it’ll definitely make it better this month if you guys get your BFP and I don’t.

TMI - clearblue said I ovulated yesterday but today I’ve got loads of EWCM, do you think I’m actually ovulating today? I thought after ovulation you don’t get it anymore?

Thanks girls! I'm relieved as I thought maybe I'd missed it.
We have DTD 3 days in a row so far....but also need to DTD the next 2 days to be sure to catch ovulation in case it's not for another 48 hours. So I'm not sure if that's overkill but don't really have a choice now as I was a bit sporadic with my testing, and my BBT has pretty much stayed level all month so far so can't rely on that either.

I totally agree @Sammyclaire22 ! It's nice to have the same timing as others, at least then if you two start getting symptoms and i don't, maybe it'll help soften the blow in a weird way?! At least we all know we tried our best this month. Fingers crossed for us all! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Sammyclaire22 · 05/05/2020 08:29

Ahh glad it's all worked out for you both! Is it bad that I'm loving us all being in the tww together? I find it so much easier sharing the wait

I checked my bbt this morning and it's low so I'm pretty certain I'm ovulating today or tomorrow... I've tried the smep so hopefully dtd tonight and again tomorrow to be sure (dh doesn't know about tomorrow as well lol) fc it's our lucky May month!

Lolliloo1234 · 05/05/2020 08:09

🎉🎉🎉🎉 @mrsmummy111 YES! I’m so pleased it turned up. You’ll be busy!! Baby dust to you 💐

I feel much better thank you, I’m a terrible perfectionist and always beat myself up thinking I could have done more/been better/tried harder but this whole baby thing is a marathon not a sprint!!

TWW is almost arriving for you all!! Haha here’s to symptom spotting like mad women for the foreseeable!!

mrsmummy111 · 05/05/2020 07:12

Morning team.
Got my static smiley on the pink clearblue using first pee of the day Wink so we're back in business.

So glad you got everything sorted @Lolliloo1234, at least you can sit back and know you did everything you could this month. It's out of your hands now.

Do you feel better today? (Ps your DP honestly sounds wonderful!)

Lolliloo1234 · 04/05/2020 21:46

So an update...DP came home early bless him (he genuinely is the kindest, warmest person...I was married in my early 20s to someone AWFUL so he’s a breath of fresh air) ended up having to inseminate using a syringe but that works just as well as DTD so I’ve chilled out. Whatever will be will be 💕 technically sperm live for up to 5 days so I’ve had 3 shots (gaha no pun intended) at it this cycle which isn’t bad.

TWW begins again for me!!

OP posts:
Sammyclaire22 · 04/05/2020 20:45

Ahh good luck! I think I'm due to ov tomorrow or the day after going off my averages so we will be in the tww together Smile

mrsmummy111 · 04/05/2020 18:35

Hi @Sammyclaire22 thanks a lot!
I was on my weekly Waitrose shop earlier today (the excitement knows no bounds) and picked up some of the blue clearblue and took one this afternoon and it was a static smiley. Which is weird...but then I read that if you don't use the first pee of the day it isn't accurate enough to rely on it.
So I'm going to take a clearblue first thing tomorrow and we DTD the last few days anyway, plus will do tonight and tomorrow.
Also sorry for overshare but CM has been really wet today, noticeably so, which I think means ovulation is coming. I've got a feeling it'll be in the next few days or so...fingers crossed!

Sammyclaire22 · 04/05/2020 17:41

Try not to worry @mrsmummy111 as long as you have dtd in your fertile period you are in with a chance.
A few months ago we had the same issue- once we cleared the air it actually improved things between us x

mrsmummy111 · 04/05/2020 13:52

@Lolliloo1234 He sounds really understanding, you're v.lucky. The best thing you can do is once you feel like you've covered all bases tonight - say it's fine, if it happens it happens if not there's always next month. Even if inside you feel distraught that it may not happen this month. Don't let him know that. He wants that baby just as much as you do, unfortunately for him - the pressure is on him rather than you.
Hope tonight does well, sending lots of hugs Thanks

Lolliloo1234 · 04/05/2020 13:36

Thank you @mrsmummy111 so much, you’ve made me feel much better. I think he feels like he’s letting me down and it makes him struggle with it. He said he’s going to try to get home earlier so we can try again. It may end up being a syringe jobby (we have medical supplies at home thank god due to DP job) but that doesn’t matter too much.
I spent all of my twenties desperately trying not to get pregnant, it’s annoying how tough it is now!

💕💕 thank you again 💕💕

mrsmummy111 · 04/05/2020 13:12

Oh @Lolliloo1234 please don't be sad. There's absolutely a chance you can still get pregnant from DTD day 12 if you're ovulating today. Everyone always says they end up getting pregnant when they relax and just do it when they feel like it and I guarantee they don't all do it the day they ovulate!

You've definitely got a handhold here though, I know how you're feeling. DH & I have been ok so far this month but last month wasn't fun. He just said he feels like I'm using him for sex (and I promise you, they're words I never thought I'd hear him say 🤣) and he just wants to feel like I actually want to, rather than just doing it because I want a baby. So I've tried to make a conscious effort this month to just make it a bit more spontaneous. TMI - but honestly, he's usually the one that initiates it, but I don't want to have to say "hi, I'm ovulating" so I've had to go a bit out my comfort zone and just try to make it a bit less pressurised for him.

It's difficult for the man because really they are under pressure to perform, no matter which way you look at it, if you're trying to conceive. The only thing you can do is try your best to remind him that you actually are enjoying it and want to do it regardless of TTC. That's the only advice I can give.

Oh and also - there's no shame in trying it on tonight when he gets home. At the end of the day, he wants a baby too - and there's only one way to get one.

Don't let this stress you out or get you down too much. It's not over til the fat lady sings.

Lolliloo1234 · 04/05/2020 11:03

@Wineandrun he’s now gone to work until midnight. We managed to DTD cd8, cd10 and cd12 so I’m hoping there is a minuscule change that it’ll be enough. I’m so disappointed.
He doesn’t know how to handle me when I get upset because of something he’s done hence why he retreats like this, it’s more of a sadness of his own as opposed to being angry at me.
I’m just feeling so sad. I guess I have to keep reading stories of people getting pregnant from sex before ovulation to try and keep positive.

OP posts:
Wineandrun · 04/05/2020 11:00

@Lolliloo1234 sending hugs xxx I’m so sorry that’s happened today. He’s probably not talking to you because he’s embarrassed/ feeling bad as well, he will come round. My husband absolutely hates ‘baby making’ sex even though he wants a child as much as I do. Keep talking to him, the day isn’t over yet!xxx

Lolliloo1234 · 04/05/2020 10:13

I’m so frustrated today. I’m ovulating today and DP buckled under the pressure and couldn’t. I’m in tears. I just feel like this is never going to happen for me no matter how hard I try. DP is now not talking to me because I’m so upset. Need a virtual hand hold

@mrsmummy111 This month I did clearblue in the morning and cheapies in the afternoon. I was planning on going to cheapies twice daily when CB had a flashy face (but I went straight to a static smile - peak) 🤷🏾‍♀️ stick in there x

BabyDust13 · 03/05/2020 15:48

@mrsmummy111 thanks May will be our 9th month I'm trying not to let it take over but it's so difficult I had a chemical in Feb and then again at the beginning of April so keeping all my fingers and toes crossed 🤞🏼🌈
