Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

Hi everyone I'm new to this thread. Currently 13dpo and AF due tomorrow. I've attached my bbt thread. Any thoughts?

Really hope it's the real deal for you, getting a line is the first hurdle but it always feels like there are so many more. Symptoms are another good sign, I've not had many this time so far so keep testing to make sure lol

justacouplettc · 23/05/2020 08:24

I am really trying not to get my hopes up as in all this time I've never had anything resembling a positive test.

I am very tired, sore breasts, headaches and a couple of times I've felt nauseous. But I also know after all this time you can convince yourself you feel things or it's just hormones x

Sammyclaire22 · 23/05/2020 08:01

I see a line, and if its got colour that's a really good sign. It looks a lot darker than mine did at 9dpo too! X

Wineandrun · 23/05/2020 07:56

Do you have any symptoms? What made you test? So happy for you xx

Wineandrun · 23/05/2020 07:55

That is very very very definitely a line!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

justacouplettc · 23/05/2020 07:36

Hi Everyone

Can anyone else see this faint line or am I loosing the plot?

I know you would think by our 50th month of trying I would be more aware. I do not usually test early.

It has more colour in person than in the photo I'm 9dpo.

X

I'm happy to make a private thread or can add on Facebook? Will have to make a private group or something though so I don't let slip lol

I followed a day routine with my lg- we had awful problems from the start with colic then reflux and milk allergies so I started it in desperation! It worked well though and was really helpful for nap transitions. I started to cut her morning nap at 9.30 down to 10 mins and then lunch nap at 12.30-2.30, no longer than 2 hours, then bed for 7. When she fought lunch nap then i dropped morning nap totally and you can bring lunch nap forward but I make sure she's up by 2.30 (all based on a 7-7 day) it's not everyone's cup of tea but I found having something telling me what to do helped when I was so tired!
We're dropping her lunch nap down now as shes fighting bedtime. We've been potty training so she likes to try for a wee about 5 times too 🙈 if bean stays put then I think we might need to move to a cot bed as I can't keep lifting her in and out!

mrsmummy111 · 22/05/2020 07:41

Thanks so much for your lovely replies @Sammyclaire22 @Wineandrun

In a weird way it's actually quite reassuring to know that I'm not the only one struggling a little, I think it's just a lot to deal with and the stresses of TTC are just adding a whole new dimension. We are also battling nap hell! DS has always been a BIG sleeper, but he's 13 months now and has been fighting his naps like a goodun. Sometimes (literally) running around his cot for over an hour / hour and a half for both his naps before finally falling asleep then waking up after 45 mins (used to do a 3h lunch nap). So I think it's time to transition to 1 nap, but he's overtired where I've had to push the nap back so isn't sleeping long enough and is then an overtired mess the whole afternoon. Do either of you have any good tips for getting through it! Early bedtime is helping, but that = early mornings and overtired again by nap time!

Sorry I know this is a TTC thread so maybe I should PM you if you do have any advice for getting through that 2-1 nap transition! Xx

Wineandrun · 22/05/2020 07:30

Honestly @mrsmummy111 and @Sammyclaire22 I could have written your threads. My kids have been driving me to the brink, they are amazing but it’s such hard work. what I’m mostly terrified of now, though is we are in such a good place with them, out of nappies, fairly independent, can ride bikes etc, the thought of going back to square one is really strange! But I knew our family wasn’t complete and DH agreed. This baby is as longed for as the others were.

I totally get the ‘meh’ feeling, it’s so hard to concentrate on anything else when TTC but you’re don’t want to get obsessed either. And when life isn’t normal and you don’t have your usual distractions it’s really tough. Like you @Sammyclaire22 I’m so glad I get to go out to work and actually see other people. Although I too desperately want my life back. I’m worried about some of my friends who have gone quiet, I want a proper coffee shop coffee, my kids are begging to go to soft play (not that I miss that hell!!!) and yeah....life in a pandemic is hard!

Love to you all xx

Sammyclaire22 · 21/05/2020 22:31

How are you doing today @mrsmummy111? I get the 1yo stress. Mines 22m and fortunately we have a decent garden so she charges round that, plus a dog so she has to go out for walks when we take her out. Otherwise she just gets bored and then naughty or destructive! Ttc is hard for anyone regardless of how many kids you might or might not have. The feeling of wanting a baby is the same!

I'm lucky that I'm still going out to work, I can't imagine what it must be like for most people just stuck indoors or trying to work from home. I don't like all my colleagues but at least they are different faces!

mrsmummy111 · 20/05/2020 12:36

Thanks @Wineandrun ! It's not anything I can really put my finger on, it's more that I've just been feeling a bit meh the last few weeks. It's almost as if I don't even have the energy, or have even forgotten how to enjoy myself anymore. I think lockdown has affected me more than I cared to admit, and I don't like to say this on a TTC thread as it seems so incredibly insensitive, but having a 1 year old who has a LOT of energy and is used to being out and about with friends and family, play groups, lunch dates, swimming / sensory etc - to being at home all day every day, it's hard to keep him entertained and his whinging just goes straight through me. He's actually been much better the last few days, I've made a conscious effort to go for a lovely long walk every day which he enjoys, and I was brilliant at doing that at first but i almost feel as if the monotony of every day life right now is taking its toll and I feel lethargic to the point that even going for a walk feels like too much effort.

I'm in a funk and I'll absolutely get through it, it just feels like such a long time until life goes back to normal.

Basically, long story short, I'm moany and longing for my old life back.

Thanks for listening everyone and hope I didn't depress you all too much! Now back to reading Louis Theroux's autobiography (which if you haven't read, you must!

Wineandrun · 20/05/2020 08:38

I’m ok, AF also due today. Tested again yesterday and line was about the same, going to test again Friday just to be sure! We just want to get excited. I did a night shift on Monday and felt horrific all day yesterday so need to figure out what I’m going to do about work, I had awful morning sickness with my last pregnancy and I only had to sit at a desk for a few hours a day and that was hard enough. I just want to get the next couple of weeks out of the way. How about you?

Sorry to see you go @Lolliloo1234 but I totally get it, we will see you again when you’ve had some time. Take care xxx

@mrsmummy111 hope everything is ok, feel free to bore us as much as you like!xx

Sammyclaire22 · 20/05/2020 08:15

Hi all,
That sounds like a good plan @Lolliloo1234, you've had such an upheaval and roller-coaster of emotions. I hope you are OK and sending lots of love.

Thanks @mrsmummy111, I hope things are OK your end too. AF was due today so hoping it stays away, my tests are still getting darker (but not blaring yet) so I'm feeling hopeful but still very nervous and trying not to get too excited yet. Or scared about actually being pregnant!

How are you feeling @wineandrun? Xx

mrsmummy111 · 20/05/2020 07:50

Morning lovelies,
Sorry have just realised I've been a bit quiet, going through a few things here too (unrelated to TTC so won't bore you with them) but soooo thrilled and excited for you @Sammyclaire22 and @Wineandrun. Please do stay on the thread and keep us updated how you're both getting on.

@Lolliloo1234 I've been thinking of you and really hope you're doing ok. Take some time to yourself and let's catch up whenever you feel ready.

Virtual social distanced hugs to all!

Lolliloo1234 · 19/05/2020 23:28

@Wineandrun @Sammyclaire22 Stay on the thread ladies!! I want to celebrate with you in 9 months when you WILL have your tiny humans!!!

Sorry frer stands for first response early response, but a range of them will say early response or jump on the bandwagon!

IndigoJam · 19/05/2020 08:30

I googled the frer brand but came up with a few results so wasn't sure which to go for. I haven't bought any of the esrly detection ones before I've usually just waited to see if my period started. Tracking ovulation this month so I dont think I'll be able to wait this time!

Sammyclaire22 · 19/05/2020 08:04

Frer are a brand in their own right but clear blue and I think boots own brand do early detection. I like frer as its a pink dye so I think an evap is easier to determine

IndigoJam · 19/05/2020 06:51

Can anyone recommend the best FRER pregnancy test to use?

Wineandrun · 19/05/2020 00:57

@Sammyclaire22 yes husband now knows, he looked at me like I was completely crazy and started sweating profusely 😂😂 he recovered quickly enough. We’re both now just a bit scared, need to get the next couple of weeks out the way.

justacouplettc · 18/05/2020 21:10

Congratulations @wineandrun that's fantastic news.

Hope you are doing ok @Lolliloo1234

xx

Sammyclaire22 · 18/05/2020 19:40

Congrats @wineandrun that's lovely news :) have you told your oh yet or is he not back?

How are you feeling today @Lolliloo1234? Been thinking of you Xx

Lolliloo1234 · 18/05/2020 13:06

@Wineandrun CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Don’t be sorry - I’m so so pleased for you! How fantastic!

Sooooo..... I had one last crappy Tesco test left, was going to wait until tomorrow put changed my mind. Got what looked like a shadow within the time limit. Then the amazing hero Amazon man turned up with my 76 packets of FRER so I thought I wonder.....it’s a BFP!! It’s faint but it’s there! I wondered why I felt sick all day yesterday!

I’m sorry to share this today @lolliloo1234. I hope you are feeling more positive today and you’re not in too much discomfort. My heart does go out to you. I needed to tell someone. My husband isn’t home from work yet so he doesn’t know. I’m in shock. Complete shock.
