Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

Oh please @Wineandrun rant away! It's quite therapeutic to unload to people who don't actually know you and won't judge you for being painfully honest! Do you have a best friend or siblings or something that you can tell? I found it so much easier once my best friend & sisters knew as DH just didn't have the same understanding and it meant whenever I wanted to just chat about it (eg all the time!) I could talk to them. Even just one person you're close to knowing may really help. I absolutely get it when people want to wait until 12 weeks but if it's killing you not talking to anyone about it then just tell one close person you can trust?

I'm on CD12 today and my 5th flashing smiley on the purple CB ovulation tests. Thinking I may get a static smiley tomorrow or CD14 and ovulate around 14/16 butttt who knows. We'll DTD every other day for the time being as don't want to overdo it, then once I get a static we'll DTD 3 days in a row and be done with it.

Wineandrun · 28/05/2020 21:19

I’m ok thanks, feeling a bit crap and had a stupid argument with my mum on the phone as I can’t just drop everything and race up the motorway to see her, as much as I would like to. Think I’m hormonal 😂 I just want life to be normal. I also feel like I’m living a lie by not thing anyone about my pregnancy! I told my manager who was fabulous but i has a socially distanced chat with my neighbours tonight who I get on really well with and I just want to shout it out loud, althouhh I also want to wait. Argh!!!!!

How about you @mrsmummy111? Sorry this board it turning into the place I just come to for a rant!

mrsmummy111 · 28/05/2020 17:30

@Lolliloo1234 sorry!!!

mrsmummy111 · 28/05/2020 17:30

How's everyone doing today?

@Lollilop1234 anxiously awaiting your return....hope you're doing ok Thanks

Sammyclaire22 · 26/05/2020 14:31

I'm glad you are from home @justacouplettc... Remember it's not selfish, it's risk reduction. The advice is if you can wrok from home you should x

I think the joke was phoning up and asking if they do liver, then they say yes we deliver and then going round in circles. It's my step dad to bes humour lol as he actually does it to local takeaways.

Not said anything to work yet, I'm waiting on my early scan which is a week on Friday... Eek! Was hoping for it to be earlier as I will be over 6 weeks but they use the 28 day calc which puts me 6 weeks on the sat not the Thurs which I think I am x

Wineandrun · 26/05/2020 11:56

What did they say @Sammyclaire22? Glad they are looking after you!

mrsmummy111 · 26/05/2020 10:40

That's exactly what it was @Sammyclaire22 !!!! "I'll have one large pizza with liver and pineapple"

justacouplettc · 26/05/2020 07:20

Thank you @Sammyclaire22 @wineandrun I've just called and will be working from home until things change. It's so hard to not thing of letting others down but actually I need to be selfish and but my health first x

Wineandrun · 26/05/2020 07:03

It’s so hard isn’t it, I work clinically in the NHS and there’s not a chance they will say that I don’t have to work, we can remain patient-facing until 28 weeks (and until
You go on mat leave in normal non corona times). I don’t want to tell them yet but I think I’m going to have to, the long shifts re already kicking my ass. There are always pregnant women in my job though and they all still Manage to work normally so I don’t want to appear ‘weak’!

I think in your situation @justacouplettc I would tell someone, if there is a chance you could work from home. We are at no more risk than anyone else from covid at this stage but no one wants to get it anyway, pregnant or not! I think physically the first 12 weeks are the hardest, so maybe you would be able to work from home now then go back to the school in your second trimester, especially if covid as calmed down?

Sammyclaire22 · 25/05/2020 22:53

Sounds lively @wineandrun!

Im nhs @justacouplettc but I'm having an early scan next week so if it's all OK I will probably tell my manager then. In theory before 28 weeks means you can still work even clinically with covid patients if need be, just with ppe. I'm more office based but we have close links to clinical areas so work might suggest I work from home (other pregnant staff are)
It doesn't make it easier though, but I think my contract says i have a duty to inform my employer if there is a risk (I work in radiation so have to tell them early on in some situations to be able to have a risk assessment done as the fetus is classed as a member of the public)

justacouplettc · 25/05/2020 22:18

Hope everyone is doing ok?

I need some advice please what would you do about work given the current situation.

Current guidance states pregnancy is on the vulnerable group list and where possible should work from home.

I'm a teacher and our school guidance is to support working from home where possible or non contact duties.

When would you tell your employer? It seems so early but in the same way I don't want to put myself at any added risk.

Xx

Wineandrun · 25/05/2020 20:16

Loving the sun here, it’s been the most normal feeling day in ages, we took the kids to a river for a paddle and a picnic.

Ovulation tracking sounds really hard, it seems to me like you’ll just have to DTD everyday and hope for the best!! It’s honestly a miracle anyone ever gets pregnant.

Sammyclaire22 · 25/05/2020 19:29

Haha I did wonder! The name made me think of the liver joke (do you do liver? Deliver...)
I'm glad I told the friend at work, she's had mc too and one just before Xmas which I didn't know about til we chatted, so she understands. I've been at work today- all on my own in the office! But had 20 mins in the sun on the roof lol

Whats your cycle normally like? Or everywhere each month?

Have you lot been enjoying the sun? Xx

yeswedodotakeaway · 25/05/2020 18:01

Hahaha sorry that was me ( @mrsmummy111 ) I namechanged for something else and never ended up doing anything with it. Will change back now 👍🏼

yeswedodotakeaway · 25/05/2020 17:37

I know exactly what you mean @Sammyclaire22 @Wineandrun. Feel free to come on here and share how you're feeling anytime.

We actually found out we were pg with DS 3 weeks before our wedding so I told my bridesmaids (best friends & sisters) on the day as I needed them to cover for me as obviously I wasn't drinking. I was secretly glad that I had people to share it with early on & I think even this time I will tell the same girls. Everyone's different & some of us have told each other right away and others haven't told until the 12 week scan has gone well, but I figure if anything happened I'd want to talk about it with them anyway. But I guess I'll wait and see how i feel when it comes to it!

Have all you ladies had a nice day in the sunshine?

I'm on CD8 and started using CB ovulation sticks yesterday. Nothing yesterday but flashing smiley today....so theoretically may be ovulating on CD12?!?! IM SO CONFUSED. Last months I thought I ovulated CD17. It's all over the place and I've no idea what's happening 🤣 ah well....no use stressing about it just gotta get to it and hope we catch it (whenever it may be) x

Sammyclaire22 · 25/05/2020 12:54

Afternoon!
I'm the same @wineandrun... Even my dh doesn't want to talk much about it now the initial novelty has worn off. I caved and told a friend at work last week but mainly so I hope she helps me cover any symptoms I have or helps to make sure we have social distancing (even though we are in a hospital our managers still seem to think they can cram us into desks next to each other) just impatient to find out if it's all OK, it feels like time is going so slowly!

We all have fc for you @mrsmummy111! Where abouts are you in your cycle now? X

Wineandrun · 25/05/2020 10:26

Morning everyone. Just fancied saying hi, I’m finding it tough with no one knowing I’m pregnant, it’s all I want to think about 😂 how are you all?x

Wineandrun · 24/05/2020 14:23

Afternoon everyone! I can’t keep up with the developments, congratulations @Hopefulmummie fantastic news!

I’ve been feeling ok, almost too ok yesterday! Boobs are a bit sore and still some cramping, the odd bit of nausea. I wish I could remember when I got symptoms with the other two! I’ve had the worst stomach ache today though, a proper stabbing just next to my bellybutton. I’ve been at work since 0730 though and finally on a break now so hoping some food and a sit down sorts me out. I’ve just had a bad feeling since my BFP, I’m probably just being silly because I’m so desperate for it to stick.

Still got everything crossed for you this cycle @mrsmummy111!!! I’ve been trying to remember how I got mine to drop their naps, I will message you when I’ve had a think!

mrsmummy111 · 24/05/2020 14:01

It'll tell you what girls, this thread is a good luck thread! I think I'm the only one of us so far who hasn't got a bfp (I know my turn will come, we haven't been trying long!) but it's so so wonderful to see so many of you with positive tests. Lots of happy mummy's and mummy's to be today! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

justacouplettc · 24/05/2020 13:13

Congratulations @Hopefulmummie 💖 xx

Sammyclaire22 · 24/05/2020 12:34

Ahh lovely news! Congrats guys. Mines not sunk in yet and I've known over a week! xx

@mrsmummy111 I use the little ones programme but I think they are all much of a muchness. I'm glad his sleep had improved, it's easy to forget how much you rely on them sleeping well to get the rest of the day done! Potty training is going well, I got the oh crap book and it's been pretty straightforward fortunately- we did it a lot earlier than I expected to! The odd accident and not worried about nights yet but she's pretty sorted in the day now. It's so much easier not having to clean messy nappies! Just worried about how she will transition going back to nursery.

Hopefulmummie · 24/05/2020 12:24

I got a bfp!! I can't believe it!!! I really was not expecting this even though all the signs were there

@mrsmummy111 AF was due today and Never late I was also feeling about nauseous this morning so that's why I tested

justacouplettc · 24/05/2020 11:20

Thanks @mrsmummy111 it still doesn't feel possible if I'm honest, in a state of shock. Have a slight pulling sensation across my stomach today, tested again and the line is darker 🤞 xx

mrsmummy111 · 24/05/2020 09:26

Thanks @Sammyclaire22 - do you follow Blissful Baby Expert? We follow almost exactly the same routine as you and DS has always been the best sleeper - but he started taking an age to go down for his second nap so we have shortened morning nap down to 20 mins and he's back sleeping 2h at lunch. I tried doing 1 nap for a few days but he was an overtired mess almost the entire day. He's back to his happy smily self now thank goodness! But thank you so so much for your advice.

How's potty training going?

@Wineandrun How are you feeling??

@Lolliloo1234 Hope you're also feeling a little better, looking forward to hearing your news whenever you're ready to rejoin us

WOW!!!! @justacouplettc , that's an unquestionable positive! And a decent line for 9DPO too. How are you feeling today?

Welcome @Hopefulmummie - welcome!!! personally I don't read tooooo much into my BBT. I had a bad habit of comparing my monthly chart with the chart from when I conceived DS and every month it did the same thing. Shot up at ovulation and stayed high until the day AF arrived when it dipped again. The only time I'd question it if were I bled but my temp stayed high which may indication implantation. Has AF arrived yet?

justacouplettc · 23/05/2020 10:37

Thanks everyone to say I'm shocked is an understatement.

I'll test again in a few days 🤞 x
