Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

@mrsmummy111 so glad to know I'm not alone! Ttc has caused many upsets on our journey too, certainly not easy or it? Are you in for a good chance this month or are you taking the relaxed approach? How do people have one night stands or oops babys when im over here temping, charting, planning, opk'ing, vitamin and supplementing and all other things ending in 'ing haha. Wheres the justice 😋 We've been trying 34 months and currently on cycle 8 of fertility meds and now I'm all out if this cycle doesn't work as my appointment got cancelled until July. So if this isn't our month at least we can begrudgingly take a break for a few months... ( not sure what's worse, the thought of more ttc sex or having to wait another 4 months to the in with a chance again) best of luck mrsmummy111 x

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 13:43

@Snowberry4 don’t worry about TMI - no such thing around women trying to have a baby! You are not alone on the conceiving thing, I try every trick in the book to try and make it less uncomfortable or mechanical which is exhausting. There have been so many tears and arguments with DP about it. My sex drive is higher anyway than his which causes issues but this has just added to it all.

Snowberry4 · 13/04/2020 13:39

Sorry @HopeWish misread and thought you wrote low sperm count not low sex drive sorry hun. I have more drive then husband but I think he gets in the mood if he can see me enjoyin myself which is difficult when I'm really not whilst ttc. We both just feel we gotta job to do so just have to grin and bare it lol.

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 13:36

Yeah @mrsmummy111 that’s what I see and In the light it goes all the way up. Keep everything crossed for me!! And if AF shows up next Monday I will know that I am certifiable haha!

Snowberry4 · 13/04/2020 13:35

Hey @HopeWish, how you doing? obviously hasn't worked so far just yet ( pcos being the issue) but I really think it's a good plan to follow to cover all bases and know you've covered most days. It is just hard work but isn't ttc in general right?! Husband had good sperm count when he got tested but that was after 5 days of holding it, so no idea how that works out if you dtd every over day for a little while then the 3 in a row miss a day then one more try. We really struggled with the 3 in a row but were see what happens I guess.
Has any health professional given you any advise as to what would be most beneficial for you both when ttc? Like eod or every 3 days ect? X

mrsmummy111 · 13/04/2020 13:34

Ok so I won't lie it took me a few seconds of staring and I also keep losing it 🤣🤣 but I see something just at the bottom that tends to fade further up. Is that what you see too?

@Snowberry4 I can promise you, you're not the only one who finds TTC completely unsexy and a total turn off. My husband & I have fallen out about it already and we are only on month 2, it just doesn't feel enjoyable or spontaneous in ANY WAY. And even if I tried to make it seem as though I'm really in the mood....my husband knows within 2 seconds and then he gets really turned off and it's all just a nightmare. Although I must admit we don't do anything differently in terms of lube / towels etc. We just have bog standard sex as we conceived that way last time and i think until it gets to the point where we feel like it's not happening and we don't know why, I'm gonna try to keep it as normal (lol normal) as possible.

Sorry if you've already said but how long have you been TTC?

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 13:30

I’ve officially gone mad. Lol I’ve just clicked on the photo and looked at it again and I’m deffo losing the plot 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

Omg @Lolliloo1234 please try to take a pic 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 13:23

So I caved and took a early response pregnancy test - there is a very very faint second line. I tried to take a photo to show you but it doesn’t show up so well. I think I’ve officially lost the plot. I’ve convinced myself I’m seeing things. I knew I shouldn’t have test. I’ll now wait until Thursday because I’ve only got one test left.

It’s very faint but I think this may be just the residual dye on the test.

Welcome everyone. I can honestly say that this forum has been a real comfort to me.

@wineandrun I'm also a night shift worker which makes this whole ttc thing more difficult as some evening we have 45 mins from husband coming in from work before I'm going out the door ☹ we pass each other whilst im driving home and hes off to work - I almost feel like saying leave me a sample for the morning at least that way I can get out of the horrid baby making sex that I'm never up for and can lay still after haha!

So I'm just going to come out and say this.... we're all in a ttc forum so there's no such thing as tmi in my eyes so I won't apologise in advance...!

Does anyone else struggle with baby making sex compared to just normal amazing spontaneous sex? I just find it's so not sexy by the time (in my case!) iv got a towel down, drawn up preseed or concieve plus lube like a junkie, got a mooncup, pillow and baby wipes on stand by and it's gotta be planned and done on demand. I just find it so clinical and unsexy and really feel for my poor husband bless him.
To all those who will say you just need to make it fun by dressing up, relax, dont overthink it, be spontaneous ( are you really on the same ttc journey I'm on?!) I'm sore for pretty much the ttc week as is he and it's rubbish knowing it's got to be planned and what the rest of the week holds in store.
The things we gotta do to have a baby right?!

incywincyspiders · 13/04/2020 13:15

I'm 1dpo, first month ttc coming off the pill on 23rd and after obsessively taking OPKs I'm not sure how I'm gonna cope not testing the next 14 days (I don't want to test until AF is due). Did BD two days before ovulation but doubt it's this month as I know it's very unlikely!

HopeWish · 13/04/2020 13:10

Hi @Snowberry4

How are you finding SMEP? I am tempted to try it next cycle if this one doesn’t work out but DH has a fairly low sex drive so I am not sure how he would feel about it!

@serialplanner I know what you mean about emotions. I go through waves of “oh this is a symptom I must be pregnant!” To “don’t be silly it could be normal AF symptoms of course you aren’t PG” in about 5 seconds. I am only on month 2 and it is mentally exhausting but fun at the same time. I think I find the process exhilarating and exciting, I can’t explain it!

Aaand with the symptom spotting... still got cramps, really bloated and AF not due for a week. Although I do remember feeling this last month...argh the wait to test is unbearable!

serialplanner · 13/04/2020 13:00

@Wineandrun good luck with the night shifts! At least it's at the end so all effort pre now is the main thingHalo

Wineandrun · 13/04/2020 12:54

Hi @Snowberry4 and @serialplanner! Welcome. I’m due AF on 25 April so I suppose technically could still be ovulating but I’m about the start a run of night shifts so no sexy business for me! Wishing you both lots of luck xx

Snowberry4 · 13/04/2020 12:34

I forgot to saying im following SMEP

serialplanner · 13/04/2020 12:32

Hi everyone

This is my first ever postBlush (hope I am using it right!)

This is our first ever month ttc (together for 11 years and married for 6 years) I was on the pill for around 10 years but I think I'm been off for about a year, taking folic acid off and on and I have a 27/28 day regular cycle.

I'm finding the emotions so crazy as in one sense you think yeah this won't happen first time but in another thought it actually could.

I'm very grateful to Mumsnet forums for reassurance!

I'm 4dpo but we only managed sex twice during the fertile window so who knows what will happen Hmm I feel a bit different but it might all be in my head- tired, sickly, didn't fancy alcohol etc!

I'm a bit worried about being judged for getting pregnant during all of this.

How is everyone feeling today? What date are you planning to test?

I want to wait until AF is late but that seems so far! Due on 23rd April.

Snowberry4 · 13/04/2020 12:31

So glad i found this group as was convinced I'd have to start one, so brill!!! 😊 31yrs old ttc #1, PCOS, 34 months trying but cycle 8 of ovulation induction meds no more meds until August as appointment cancelled 😫 so really hoping this is THE month!!! 2dpo and will be testing 27/04. So looking forward to being on this journey with you ladies and best of luck to everyone 🌼🥂

mrsmummy111 · 13/04/2020 12:11

Morning ladies.

Oh god yeah, symptom spotting like a crazy lady and keep going back in my app from when I conceived my son and trying to remember how many DPO I felt things 🤣
I had ridiculously sore boobs almost immediately which is how I knew 100% I was pregnant last time, so in my heart I know if I don't feel the same then it's not my turn this month 🙁
I was getting vvvvv mild twinges and backache yesterday but if I wasn't a divinely TTC I would never have noticed.
Sorry you're feeling ropey - although even at 6DPO it could be pregnancy related. It's so hard to tell though.

@HopeWish I also had a crazy vivid dream last night!!! It was awful I was being followed by a random man on the street. Do you think vivid dreams mean anything?!

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 11:38

I think I’m not very well hence why I think I’m probably out - waves of nausea and headache which was AF coming early last cycle when we started trying. I’m only 6dpo so won’t be pregnancy related.

I’m sorry to hear @HopeWish that you’ve had a rough night! I have ridiculously vivid dreams so I can empathise.

HopeWish · 13/04/2020 10:43

Morning!

Yes symptom spotting like crazy. Keep thinking I feel mild cramps but had this last month and was just AF on the way. Not due AF for another week, and only 7dpo so may not have even implanted yet! Also had really vivid nightmares last few days (woke up crying this morning!).

Never really know until AF arrives (or doesn’t). Doesn’t make the wait easier though!

Lolliloo1234 · 13/04/2020 09:52

Morning girls - anyone else symptom spotting like a mad man? I’m pretty sure I’m out this month!

*weren't actively trying sorry!

mrsmummy111 · 12/04/2020 17:40

@Lolliloo1234 Sorry just seen your latest post. I was totally relaxed with our first as we were actively trying - I had all the gear ready for when we were intending to try after our wedding, but we were pregnant before I had a chance to obsess. It meant that I was still drinking (a glass of wine or a G&T here and there, and the weekend before we found out we were in Italy for a very good friends wedding and it was a very boozy weekend. None of that stopped us conceiving so I've done the exact same this time. I'm not a huge drinker but I'm currently on my second gin & elderflower, it's the only enjoyment we're getting at the moment and I'm not willing to give it up 🤣🤣

You don't sound crazy at all, my mum is also very much into lunar cycles as well and puts a lot of significance into it. If it helps keep you sane and happy, then go for it!!
