This is my first ever post. I've been off my contraception pill since December 2018 but myself and my fiancé didn't begin to actively try until June 2019. For the first 6 months it really didn't bother me I thought we'll get there when we get there! We've recently bought our first home a lovely spacious house all ready to go! Something that we could grow into. Recently we've looked at camper vans and saying 'won't that be lovely then we can take our children away at the weekends'.... then the my period rises its ugly head! Now I'm sat here extremely upset thinking what's the point! We've waited a long time to save the money to get ourselves financially stable to have a family but nothing is happening!

@LRboop we've got big plans for the house and thinking of getting a camper van, but a really crappy one 😂😂 So we can build it up. This morning I felt terrible but writing that post and hearing from other women in the same position as me has really helped.

@inahaze nothing too drastic just TTC vitamins to be honest we eat pretty healthy I cook all our meals from scratch BUT I love caffeine and so does my fiancé. Not going to lie we love a drink on a Friday night or after a hard day at work. We're both generally in good health I've heard yoga can help? And drinking more water.

@Georgie31 Distract yourself with ideas to decorate your new home! That'll be so exciting to get in.

We got a dog in October and having her has really helped me. Lovely company and makes you get out for walks everyday.

inahaze · 09/03/2020 16:27

@Georgie31 what have you tried so far in terms of TTC?

Georgie31 · 09/03/2020 16:04

@LRboop your so right it's just luck!

typo...I meant to say 'oh' not other half!

LRboop · 09/03/2020 15:57

@Georgie31 OH you haven't failed! Please...don't take this out on yourself...go get checked and talk to a professional. Chin up x

LRboop · 09/03/2020 15:54

Yeah, I got tested and OH too. Nothing abnormal came up (I've PCOS but doc dismissed it having an impact). She said it's normal for it to take a year to conceive. It took my mum 10 months to get pregnant and went on to have 5 children, but then my sister got pregnant really easily so I guess I have to remember we are all different.

I've been getting acupuncture for the last 4 weeks so maybe that'll make a difference?! I am trying not to mentally plan so much and just do as I normally do. But yes, it is really hard. So frustrating not knowing...most things in life you work towards them...baby making is just luck?!

@AliSxo good luck!

Georgie31 · 09/03/2020 15:52

I feel scared about going to the gp... like I've failed. I don't know why, almost admitting it's not going to happen the way that I thought. Do you girls think maybe go sooner rather than later? I have a friend at work it took her over two years but eventually did conceive naturally so I'm still holding out hope.

@Beau20 I'm in the same boat as you. Had my blood tests today so I'll know by Thursday/Friday how I've got on xx

AliSxo · 09/03/2020 15:06

Hi, can i join, been TTC since October, came off the pill in August 2019, had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in October and been trying every since. Fed up about it recently, I think I'm really impatient which isn't helping xx

Beau20 · 09/03/2020 15:04

I am also on my 8th cycle - no joy! I've been pregnant before very quickly but now it's not happening and I had a chemical last month. I'm only 28.

The GP will turn you away for fertility treatment until you've been trying for a year (but you can lie to them IF you really wanted). I went last week and although I've only been trying for a shortish time, they have referred me for blood tests. She said if they are abnormal they will refer me early to the fertility clinic - it's worth a try! My GP said 6 months is average and any longer than this is 'abnormal' which is maybe why she's running tests on me before the 12 month mark.

I'm trying to keep a positive mental attitude towards it all. Yes your right do things for us! We haven't moved into our new home yet but we've had lots of 'new home new baby' comments but no body knows that we've already started trying. We haven't been tested yet I haven't got the heart to go to the doctors. Our move in date is around June so my partner has said let's just move in and settle first and have our first Christmas in the new house and go from there. I honestly thought I wouldn't be in this position my mum had four children very quickly and my sister fell pregnant easily too. Me and my fiancé are so ready and excited he even shows me baby grows with 'I love daddy' written on them. It's just hard isn't it? Have you been tested?

Hi! I'm in the same position as you. Been trying for #1 since September 2019 and have a lovely home that's waiting for a baby. I think maybe not letting TTC being your sole purpose is a good idea. Go out, book a holiday, live as you normally do. Use your new home for having friends/family over etc. Makes the waiting not as painful and you're not in limbo.

Have you and OH got tested?
