Thank you @whatsthecraic91 I hope yours goes well. My surgery just did all the STI testing with a blood test? No need to spell it out!

Thank you @CoalCraft and welcome - I hope so too

@FarmerWantsABaby it is so tough to keep smiling for everyone else!

@Anny27 I'm on metformin atm going to maternity clinic to see if they want to give me insulin. I'm already on a diet that is designed to reverse/manage prevent diabetes (low carb, real food) so I am absolutely miffed why my blood sugar is still so high!

They could leave it until Thursday before I know if the surgery is going ahead. So I am still feeling a bit stressed about it. Thanks everyone for your support.

KrissyMB · 03/03/2020 08:17

Well girls. I officially think I'm going mad!!! Woke up during the night feeling all sorts of nauseous, and did a pregnancy test. It ofcourse came back negative! I have no idea when I'm even due a period because of previously having the coil and not bleeding, and only got it removed Feb 12. Since about a week ago I have gone off coffee, only certain days, and I feel sicky constantly. God knows if its it's anything or if I'm just feeling weird because a general change of hormones! Going to wait another week and test again!

Anny27 · 03/03/2020 08:08

Morning everyone :D 15dpo and no AF yet. Had a temp drop though so imagine she is on the way!

@Kiza next time I am at my GP I will log it with them. Thank you! Ooh symptom spotting my favourite thing haha! Will toj test early or wait for AF?

@whatsthecraic91 I had to have that test after the miscarriage, felt like the nurses thought I had cheated or my husband had cheated haha. But I knownifs routine:p

@MIW01 hope you are doing okay - how are you getting in with your insulin? Or is it diet managed?

@FarmerWantsABaby I put on a few pounds despite feeling I didnt eat that much in early pregnancy haha! Hope next scan goes well!

Welcome to all the newbies :D

@CoalCraft I'm just going to have to be a big girl and phone up, remember the days you'd get your mum to ring for you 😂 can't do that now I'm 28 😂

@FarmerWantsABaby here that's good he taking it seriously many's a one wouldn't. Aye I know they expect food and tea to be available at all times 😂 it's nice sometimes tho, you drop into a farm and you end up getting your dinner 🤣 I really hope all goes well with for you, has all bleeding stopped now? Ahh I'm just gonna have to wise up and phone, i think it will probably be an app with the nurse, I'll report back later 🙈😂

FarmerWantsABaby · 03/03/2020 00:05

@Hankychief thank you so much x

@Kiza beautiful but also had to be chauffeured to work a few days last week in a pickup! Roads were treacherous! Had a very close call last week when I failed to get up a hill and freewheeled back down in reverse! 🙈

@MIW01 thank you, I know it can be tough sometimes when TTC and there's so much good news around, one reason why I had to leave a previous thread. I was delighted for everyone but it was tough. I hope Friday goes ahead for you!

@whatsthecraic91 yes we are in one of the highest points in Tyrone! 🏔 beautiful but also a torture! DH is all very concerned and serious about the whole thing. I'm not allowed near the utility room. I'm not complaining 😂 I'm delighted our house isn't a drop-in cafe this year! Made me so angry last year! God forgive me but the majority of farmers are unintentionally old fashioned and sexist when it comes to being fed/tea/lunch etc! DH included!
Next scan is tues 10th March and I'm already bricking it. I honestly think I have half a stone on already and I've no idea how as I've been hardly eating.
I hate calling my GP surgery about personal things like that, I know some of the receptionists quite well and it's awkward. There's no beating around the bush with that one. I think you're just going to have to ask outright 🙈 or book an appt with your GP? Is it your GP that will be doing the swab?

CoalCraft · 02/03/2020 22:06

@MIW01 Great to hear about your good ECG results, fingers crossed the good news keeps coming for you

@whatsthecraic91 is your surgery usually good at being subtle? Mine always seems to need everything spelled out for then 🙈 But I bet if you say you need "a vaginal swab for infection" they'll get your drift :)

whatsthecraic91 · 02/03/2020 20:58

After my scan last week the Dr told me to phone my GP surgery to get a vaginal swab done to make sure I don't have chlamydia before the HSG. If I call up and just say I need a vaginal swab done will they know what I'm talking about? I don't really want to say I need a chlamydia test 🙈

@MIW01 when will you know if Friday is going ahead? I'm not surprised you have high blood pressure with all you have had to deal with this past week or so!

MIW01 · 02/03/2020 20:45

Welcome newbies, apologies there's just too mich going on for me to remember names to tag writing this on my phone.

Congratulations @FarmerWantsABaby it is always good to hear stories of hope. Especially pertinent for me atm!
Thanks for asking @whatsthecraic91

I had a bunch of tests today. Several bloods and an ECG after borderline blood pressure which I know was due to stress and anxiety. Waiting to hear whether my OP will go ahead or not on Friday. Good news I'd my ECG was beautifully healthy - some good health news at last! So just the waiting game again.

whatsthecraic91 · 02/03/2020 19:17

@MIW01 how are you after your diagnosis?

whatsthecraic91 · 02/03/2020 19:17

Welcome newbies 👋🏼

@Anny27 any sign of AF yet?

@FarmerWantsABaby aww lovely! You must be right and high to have had so much snow! Awk I know but at least you won't have to get up in the middle of the night etc 😊 how does your DP feel about having to wash his own clothes 😂 that's great you'll not have to be endlessly making cups of tea - just for yourself! When is your next scan again?

Kiza · 02/03/2020 19:02

Welcome @Hankychief @KrissyMB @CoalCraft ☺️

@Anny27 oh I see, I would still log this as 2 mc, I did with my chemical and our consultant said it's good to mention it if you get to investigation stage.
It's odd that you still don't have any AF symptoms...

@FarmerWantsABaby sounds beautiful seeing blanket snow every morning but I imagine having to go out in it to work must be bloody hard work!

5dpo and I feel like @Anny27 symptom spotting has rubbed off on me! 😆 sore boobs (but that could be DOMS from the gym) a nauseas feeling after dinner (could be due to eating too much) and had to have a nap at 5pm (could be due to working out on an empty stomach at 1pm after being at work since 6.30am).
All in all I don't think I have any worthy symptoms 😄

Hankychief · 02/03/2020 16:43

@KrissyMB & @coalcraft welcome and good luck with your journey's
I'm also a newbie. AF has officially buggered off and ovulation is due at the weekend if my tracker app is to be believed. So looks like i'm definitely on the TTC bandwagon now.

@FarmerWantsABaby i'm sending good thoughts your way.

KrissyMB · 02/03/2020 15:15

@coalcraft that's funny because that's what I do too :) I only want to read the positive stories and convince myself I might be one of those people!

CoalCraft · 02/03/2020 14:22

@timswifey

Thanks for the good wishes and the advice, I do appreciate it! I'm definitely not planning on coming off and then going back on; either we'll exchange on the house during this withdrawal week and start TTC, or I'll start a new pill packet on schedule and take the whole thing so that from my body's point of view there's no break in the usual cycle of 21 days on, 7 off.

Tbh I kinda regret ever going on hormonal BC but it is what it is! I just try to read the stories where people get pregnant straight away after stopping them and avoid the ones where it takes ages, haha

A huge good luck to everyone here for whenever you're next testing xx

MIW01 · 02/03/2020 13:18

Hello @Lottiepink not at all. It just goes to show how rife the misinformation is atm. There is overwhelming evidence to support that low carb is protective, preventing diabetes and improving things for those who have it. I think the research you re referring to is based on a study in mice which are herbivorous animals not designed to eat keto. Studies in rats, which are omnivorous and of course, humans, show very different results. I have a degree in biochemistry so I do understand some of the mechanisms which helps. And just on a logical level it makes sense. Carbohydrate are what raise blood sugar and cause I insulin to be released. Carbohydrates all break down into sugar. If you reduce them then you will have less sugar in your body. Type 1s carb count for this very reason. I hope that makes sense?

timswifey · 02/03/2020 12:04

Also @CoalCraft good luck with exchanging contracts. The whole house-buying process is so stressful isn't it! It took me and hubby about 18 months to find a house and successfully purchase it.

timswifey · 02/03/2020 12:02

Hi @CoalCraft welcome 🥰

I think some women don't even ovulate during their first month off the pill. So yea my advice would be to keep it chilled until you get your first proper period after your withdrawal bleed.

Exciting times! Hormonal birth control affects our cycles so so much I would be extremely careful about going back on after stopping. It may take a good few months to conceive anyway. Sorry, not trying to bombard with unsolicited advice but the more time you are free from artificial hormones the more fertile you'll be.

Sending love x

KrissyMB · 02/03/2020 10:13

@Anny27 yes it is :)

CoalCraft · 02/03/2020 08:43

Hello, hope I can join this thread!

Today I took what could be my last contraceptive pill for a long time! I was on Logynon (two-hormone pill where the dosage changes over the packet), and have just finished my last packet, so after my withdrawal bleed I guess I'll be in the running? I'm well aware that it can take a while for the cycle to settle down and am not expecting anything to happen immediately, but still, TTC is starting and of love to lurk!

Or hopefully anyway... We're expecting to exchanges contracts on a house move this week and if that doesn't happen I'll start another pill packet, as technically everything could fall through and I don't want to be stuck in moving hell whilst pregnant, but fingers crossed!

Anny27 · 02/03/2020 08:36

Morning ladies 14dpo, no period yet but guess she is on her way soon!

@timswifey ahh that's tough :( I have to say that my EPU were very kind and considerate however when I called my midwives to cancel by next appointment because of my miscarriage they didnt say sorry just a cheery "thanks for letting us know". I agree with @lozzlepop perhaps they protect their own emotions or dont want to set people off by being too sympathetic. A little compassion wouldnt go a miss though haha

@FarmerWantsABaby I will wait to see if AF arrives in the next few days and if she is even later I will do another test.

@Kiza thanks lovely! I havent had one before, had a MMC in Novemver and as we have 'only" been trying since June 2019 and are 28 they wont look into anything for a while longer I think!

@lozzlepop thanks 💗how exciting - how many bridesmaids are you having?

@KrissyMB welcome :) is this your first cycle?

@whatsthecraic91 ooh that sounds lovely! I love blush and grey!!

OP posts:
FarmerWantsABaby · 02/03/2020 08:00

@whatsthecraic91 because we are so high up I have woken up to snow every morning the last two weeks nearly! No lambs yet, due to start next week but you never know what might happen by then! Had to buy separate wash baskets and boxes with lids for him to store his farming clothes, boots etc as I'm not allowed to handle them. The boot room is out of bounds 😬 the lengths people go to get out of the lambing 😂 all joking aside I'll miss being involved this year. But I won't miss men dropping in and out of our house for tea!

whatsthecraic91 · 02/03/2020 07:44

@Lozzlepop we (well I 😂) picked grey and blush, it's a bit girly for DP but I absolutely love it 😁 ahh now exciting, dress shopping next then?

@FarmerWantsABaby I would take feeling shit as a good sign 😂 it will all be worth it!! I know, well yesterday it was lovely with us! Spring has arrived and I am in the fertiliser business so work will be keeping me busy too! Have you any lambs yet?

@Kiza the coronavirus thing has got quite scary hasn't it 😓 I've brought my own hand sanitizer pump bottle for my desk! I'm quite glad I have no trips booked this year.

Kiza · 01/03/2020 22:03

@Anny27 sorry to hear this, are you in the process of consultants/investigations etc? I wasn't sure if you said you'd had a chemical before. Sending you a hug

@Lozzlepop that sounds so exciting and lovely to ask people to be your bridesmaid and they can now officially join in on some of the planning.

@whatsthecraic91 haha sounds like a great achievement and a great way to celebrate 😄

@ToCaden I had a course of Accupuncture, it didn't result in BFP but it certainly regulated my cycles like clockwork! 6 months later since the Accupuncture and they are starting to go weird again so it works in some way. I'm currently having a mix of hypnotherapy and reflexology.

@timswifey you've had a crappy experience of some of the medical staff, some are great but some are just plain awful!

Chilled out weekend after being released from Coronavirus 'quarantine' Thursday & Friday. 4dpo and in the wonderful TWW 🙄

FarmerWantsABaby · 01/03/2020 22:01

@whatsthecraic91 glad you have something to keep you busy for a while now 😂 dont know if it has sunk in yet, still feel weird about it all, and scared to get excited. But I'm feeling the odd cramp in my tummy still and a little nauseous but not as bad as yesterday. My mouth is always full of salvia I feel rotten 😂 and I'm bloated and I'm not to do any exercise for the next two weeks so I feel massive and rotten 😭 I wish this weather would calm down so I could at least go walking!!

Lozzlepop · 01/03/2020 21:12

Evening ladies!

@Anny27 so sorry to hear it not to be this month ❤️ Hope you are ok!

@FarmerWantsABaby I totally get your reservations and I know how scary a time this is, sending lots of love your way!

@timswifey sorry to hear there is still retained tissues and about your experience - I find that when you go to the EPU it can be very clinical, I sometimes wonder if they put in a front as they actually find it upsetting to?!

@whatsthecraic91 woohoo sounds like a double win! What colour did you go for?

So I secured my bridesmaids today, woohoo so happy it’s been such a lovely day ❤️ Hope everyone has had a great weekend!
