TTC first baby thread 24

@Hopefulmummie we take a ton of supps but that's because we are both older (39 & 36) and have been trying for 20 months. A general pre ovulation supps is good such as pregnacare (get them 3 for 2 @boots) or there's other good ones.

@Mamainmaking we also struggled with the pressure in the first 6 months and then switched to me not telling him my fertile window and I would initiate DTD. We also tried to make it really fun with a position of the day book and just have a real giggle about it. It's made our sex life in general far better for it, I have preseed and will use it if I know I'm not producing my ewcm that particular day.

@Annny27 funny how when you decide to not properly track we still can't help ourselves 😆 we've become so fine tuned into our bodies during this process

@Annny27 morning! Currently in the que for Sainsbury's it's crazy 😂😂 I'm 10DPO too today and my temp is up again 😳 trying not to overthink or get excited! Bit crampy this morning but other than that I feel normal! When are you thinking of testing?

Morning :) 10dpo today and resisting the testing urge 🙌 boobs are quite full and sore and had some cramping yesterday but sometimes that happens in tww

@whatsthecraic91 that's good that your temp is on the way up now :D when will you test?

@kiza hopefully ovulation is sooner for you this month 🤞🤞 its horrible when it's delayed and you are just waiting!

@hopefulmummie I take the seven seas pre conception ones. They are mini pills and contain the key folic acid and a few others :)

@Mamainmaking have you tried not telling him when your fertile window is? And Deffo pressed is good for a bit of extra lubrication :)

@Mamainmaking what they teach you in school is bull, it's so much harder to get pregnant than you think! We are on cycle 16!! When we first started TTC my DP had performance issues but we are past it now, I know it's hard but you just both need to relax 🙂

So we are facing a weird issue, normally the sex is always great for us but whenever we DTD in fertility window something has to go wrong, either he won't be able to ejaculate due to breathlessness or it gets loose or I am just dry, now we are soo worried..it's stress or something else I don't know..we try to not think about the baby and enjoy it but you can't just control your emotions so easily right? Anyone facing the same issue? Should I go for fertility friendly lubricant like preseed or what else

Thanks @orangeloo - he's decided just to join me in a health kick anyway - it's more than likely going to be a few months until we can get any kind of tests done so we have plenty time to not stress too much about it ! I will enjoy a gin in the garden tonight :-)

AF arrived today for us, so onto cycle 13 we go, I am ok about it. it's my birthday soon so I can have a few drinks to celebrate

@XjustagirlX so sorry to hear it's ectopic. What option have you gone for? Hope your doing as okay as can be x

@mrsbttc I did a quick google on the male needing to have normal bmi and just found that some ccg's do stipulate males too which is unfair as it has no bearing on treatment success. I think couples with fertility issues have enough problems without another unnecessary hurdle. So you may want to double check but I'm not sure how you'd go about that.

@MochaTea welcome and so sorry to hear of your miscarriage. Thank you so much for sharing though. I have been ttc 16 months so seeing stories of conceiving after a long while of trying gives me much needed hope. I hope you're doing okay and get a BFP and rainbow baby when you are ready. X

@XjustagirlX so sorry to hear of your ectopic, I've not had any experience of that so unfortunately I don't know what best to advise. Maybe look on other threads to see the experiences of some other women?

Cycle 20 for us, hopefully ovulation returns to normal this cycle and it'll be sometime end of next week. I've not stuck to my daily fertility smoothie this week just due to being so busy with work and need to find some cheaper royal jelly cos man that stuff is expensive!

Hey lovely ladies, new member here, I am on cycle no 3 trying for baby no 1, kinda depressed already since I thought it would just happen very easily since I got pregnant once accidentally but had to abort it as we were not ready at the time and now when I am desperately waiting for it to happen its just not happening:(

First time TTC, currently on CD28 but AF hasn’t shown yet. I’ve had really interesting symptoms but tried not to symptom spot. Took a HPT at 11dpo and thought I saw a very faint line, and I’ve taken one this morning and got a BFN!! My cycles are always regular.. maybe late ovulation?

@NatJayne87 well if you have done it in the last week there's still I chance!

@Annny27 it's been rising nicely so I'm praying it keeps rising 😊 I have zero symptoms at all 👎🏼 I think I'll hold off on testing so I can have a beer with my bbq on Saturday 🍺😂

hey @NatJayne87 ovulation day is just one of many days you can try, so definitely try today or tomorrow or a few more days afterward. we never know!

@Annny27 thanks, I hope it happens for all of us. I was trying to conceive for so long, so I know it's easier said than done.

@whatsthecraic91 sometimes temps can be slow rising after ovulation just depends on how fast progesterone rises :)

@whatsthecraic91 Unfortunately we did not! So thats another month gone, which is sad because it feels so wasted but now its passed i can just keep working on me and redirect my focus. It will happen when it happens i guess, though i have till about 5 today i reckon for a 24 hour egg, i might try and pounce when little man has gone home haha the advantage of lockdown atm! X

@NatJayne87 welcome! I am also a stepmum to a 6 year old boy and I am absolutely dying for one of my own! It's so hard isn't it! Did you manage to DTD?

Hi everyone, i would like to join this tread please 😁 i am 32 and have been off contraception for 3 months, today is ovulation but dont think OH is in the mood for DTD today but we shall see! Although we are trying to concieve our first baby, i am actually a step mommy to a 21 month old little boy, which is lovely but i do burn even more now for a biological baby too! @XjustagirlX so sorry to hear it turned out ectopic hope you're okay 😘 it's hard to know what to do, I think if it was me I would go for the injection and take a TTC break. A friend of mine had an ectopic last year and lost her tube and she conceived again naturally 6 months later.

@Annny27 same here I am 7DPO today so I will start symptom spotting even tho I tell myself every month I won't 🙄 really constipated today but of course it can't be a symptom as it's way too early 😆 nothing else to report! Have you any? My AF is due on 28th! Yea I'm pretty sure I did ovulate because Easter Monday and Tuesday I remember having loads of EWCM like crazy amounts which wasn't normal for me. Don't know why my temp took so long to rise 😐

I would like to join this thread

I am going through the process of my first miscarriage at 10 weeks. It happened last Sunday/Monday and yesterday we went for the scan that confirmed it. I know I need to wait 3 weeks to test again etc. but I am remaining hopeful I'll be able to conceive soon as I see lots of women who were able to conceive a few months after a miscarriage.

I am 36 and we have been trying for 1.5 years and got the BFP the day after we had our first IVF consultation, which was a shock.
I did 3 cycles of clomid via the NHS with no success and got pregnant a week after my HSG x-ray.
I was doing acupuncture at the time so I credit these two with being able to finally get pregnant naturally.

Where I live they do not offer any IVF cycles past 35 years so I know that if I don't conceive naturally in the next 6 months I'll have to pay for treatment.

Hope to find some comfort with all of you through this difficult journey.

@XjustagirlX so sorry that it is ectopic :( that's a really realty tough position. Not sure what option I would pick tbh! I think Injection would be best option long term but obviously does mean 3 months not ttc. On the miscarriage board there is a lot of ectopic support

@whatsthecraic91 ah your chart is difficult to interpret this month. Really tricky :S do you think you have ovulated?

@kiza oh you used to be vegan didn't you? Must be strange reintroducing animal products

@orangeloo I have glassware tupperware and I like them much better. They don't stain like plastic (I.e with a tomato sauce) and they look so much better
