Hello,

I had my coil removed 6 days ago. Just wondering if anyone can share any stories of when they have conceived after having theirs removed?

@stopchewingeverything @Peanut91 great to hear your stories! I am going to try and be relaxed about it all, just enjoy time with my husband and not worry too much!

I had my mirena coil removed 21 Dec 2017, had BFP 16 Feb 2018 and had my DS Sept 2018 (4 weeks early). We didnt put much effort into trying...just DTD every other day or so

Had mine removed Jan 2018, conceived July 2018 and had DS April 2019! Although TTC, we were just winging it really, not putting on too much pressure.

Yeah that's my worry too with conceiving so soon after having it removed but we are going to try none the less. Fingers crossed. I am so confused as to when I'm going to ovulate and I can't track anything until I get first period - i didn't have any on the coil for over a year! Xx

@KrissyMB the doctor never said anything but if I'm honest I think it was the reason. The mirena stops the body from producing a thick lining that can sustain a pregnancy. I have wondered if my hormones hadn't recovered sufficiently to provide a thick enough lining 😔
Saying that, there are plenty of people who have successful pregnancies when the catch straight after removal. I think it's a very individual thing and no one can say for sure.
I have 3 children and have never miscarriaged before but saying that, I'm 38 so it could be to with egg quality.

Good luck to you xxx

@Hopin4no4 so sorry to hear that! Hope you catch again soon. Did the doctor think this was anything to do with the coil? Read a few stories about conceiving after the coil and miscarriage!

I had the copper coil removed in November and I am currently ttc 😊

Hi @KrissyMB I had myour mirena coil removed on the 16th Dec and bled until 10th of Jan! I got my bfp on the 26th of January.

Unfortunately it ended in miscarriage and I'm now ttc again. Hoping I catch again as quick. Good luck xx
