Ttc at 40 something!

Hello all! 1DPO here. Entering the TWW. How is everyone doing? @Mumof4andahalf - how are you feeling?

Hi all, so great to read everyone's stories. It's so great that there are others in the same situation as me.
I turned 40 in December and have been ttc since. Just had a MC at 5.5 weeks, as much as it hurts, it has happened for a reason and we have to keep trying. We have a dd who's 2, so 1 more would make our family complete but often wondered if I left it too long. But glad I've found a group who are in the same situation as me as I can see there is hope.

Thanks @CritterTamer. Pleased to report a return to normal service over the last couple of days! Possibly subconscious pressure, although he did remind me that he had just worked 12 days straight in his very physical job (farm vet) and was absolutely shattered too. Have made sure he’s had a good lie-in today!!

CD18 for me today and 3dpo I think. Going to try to have a relaxing weekend. DD’s 7th bday tomorrow.

@chickoletta it might be something as simple as him feeling under pressure to 'perform' as it's only been two days and at your fertile time. My DH prefers not to know when the OPK turns positive as he finds it harder knowing!

We now have a new and unexpected problem - for the last 2 days, DH has struggled to get and sustain an erection. This has come completely out of the blue and I am so worried. We have been together for 23 years and have never experienced even a hint of this before, then suddenly, over night it goes from fine to really worrying.

We did manage it yesterday - the day after my clear line, so think that's good? Instructions say between 24 and 48 hrs afterwards...

It's not great from a TTC point of view, obviously, but I'm mostly worried that it's a sign that there's something seriously wrong - heart, blood pressure, prostate - I've already worried about them all. :( He's 40 and has always been in brilliant health. Has anyone got any experience of this?

The mmc night have thrown your cycle out a bit . I’ve noticed after mine in jan my Lh goes up and down ( it used to just rise and peak within two days) Even after I ovulated it went high again next day and I decided to do a blood test to see if I even ovulated , which I had . I was worried as I’m usually bang on cd15 but it’s started moving to cd16/17/18
You may ovulate later , get a quick peak or you may get several highs over days . Keep poas Is all you can do !

I get a line 3-4 days before ovulation and it gradually gets darker. I also test twice a day (am and pm) as I think the spike can be quite brief. Hope that helps!

Hi ladies. Has anyone got any experience with OPKs? I bought myself a cheap pack of ovulation sticks on Amazon and am driving myself a bit mad over it.

Today is CD12 and there is still no hint of a second line. I thought it would be starting to show now and then get darker over the next couple of days...? Worried that I’m not ovulating.

DH thinks I’m being ridiculous as we’ve never had trouble conceiving before and my MMC in April was fraternal twins (so presumably 2 eggs). He just wants to keep DTD and see what happens, which is obviously right but I just feel that time is not on our side. This is my first proper cycle after the MMC - period came on day 33 after MC starting, which I thought was pretty good. We said we’d give it a couple of cycles to try again and then stop.

A slight variation in ovulation day is quite normal. Seems like you're still having at least an 11 day LP which is on the short side but should be sufficient. I would see what happens next month as you probably won't get much help from a GP.

This cycle I got my period on day 26. I think I ovulated early(ish) on day 13.

@Anxiousbuthopeful sorry, how long are your cycles and luteal phase?

AF for me, really quite early as was supposed to come on Sunday. Is the short cycle thing worth getting checked out, do you think?

@Anxiousbuthopeful am also 11dpo! Not spotted any symptoms yet so don’t hold out too much hope for a bfp this month! Trying to hold of testing till Friday if AF hasent shown up by then.

@Anxiousbuthopeful - I had a BFP on a FRER 10dpo last time. Don’t lose hope if it’s negative though.

I’m now back in the game. First AF since my MMC came last Weds. Day 33 dated from start of MC bleeding. Everything feels back to normal and I’m feeling really hopeful that I soon maybe pg again. CD7 today.
