Probably the only place I feel comfortable enough to share details of when I had sex and what is going on with my vagina 😳
So as the title says I'm 40 and some extra and desperately ttc since 2017, I've had 2 miscarriages in this time 1 being a Mmc and the other at week 12 which was horrendous. If you want to join for some love, support and a chat please do!
Don't let me be Billy no mates 😢

Hello @awbaby! Congratulations! I am also very scared. 4w + 5d here...

awbaby · 25/07/2020 21:42

@anxiousbuthopeful Congratulations Xx you must be so happy. What day are you on?
I've also just had a positive hcg test, but I'm just scared something will go wrong again. But I keep testing everyday since the first one just to make sure. If I make it to 6 weeks I will try and get an early scan. I'm 4w+2 and counting.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 25/07/2020 20:35

Hello ladies. Just to let you know that I did one round of IVF in July and have had a positive HCG test. Thrilled but obviously very very early days and lots can happen. Hope everyone is doing well....

Sunshinelove8 · 06/07/2020 09:34

Hi hun , how are you doing ? ❤️ I would say I had symptoms (after a d&c) for about two weeks and when I went for a check up about three weeks I had a line still on pg test so was still hcg there . It does take a while . I did ovulate again about three weeks after that ( the way your body just pings back like nothing has happened eh ) I hope you’re doing ok given the circumstances xx

Mumof4andahalf · 30/06/2020 22:09

But of a depressing question and I'm so sorry to ask but for those that have had losses how long until you lost all symptoms? For those that don't know I went to the epu at 9 weeks but there was a gestation sac and yolk sac but no visible pregnancy. I started bleeding 8 days ago, passed lots of clots and tissue on Saturday and the bleeding stopped yesterday. Still lots of symptoms though. My boobs are still painful, nipples huge and still feel really queasy with cramps and backache. 2 previous losses symptoms went before the bleeding started.last times I was told to take a test a week later this time I've got a follow up scan in 9 days time to check my dates weren't wrong, they Definately wasn't unless I got a positive test 2 days before I conceived!

I think so long as you are ovulating and having regular periods it shouldn't affect anything. You could always get your prolactin levels tested but again if you are having regular cycles it should be back down to normal by now.

Good morning: question about trying to conceive and breastfeeding. I am 40 and trying to conceive our second child for a few months and no results so far. The first was very easy. We finally decided to consult an IVF Doctor Who suggested that breastfeeding my toddler is probably not helping. She is only breastfeeding very little in the morning, once a day. She is 2 and a half so probably it wouldn't harm stopping but I and she still enjoy it! Should I stop? My periods are regular and I believe I ovulate every time, judging from positive looks. I even conceived in December but sadly had an early miscarriage.
Any advice? Any experience of very little breastfeeding harming chances for a conception? Thanks in advance!

@kirinm yeah my 2 pregnancies I had pre eclampsia symptoms near the end of both, I hurt my bank on 2nd which later on resulted in my having a herniated disc. So that was our biggest concern. Our eldest son is T1 diabetic so the last 18mths we were focused on his care. So we hadn't really time to think about having more. But I'd regret if we didnt at least try. DH is been very supportive lol

kirinm · 26/06/2020 11:07

@2alreadywantanother yes my DP is 35 so much younger than I am. We had our DD nearly two years ago and that pregnancy was fine - I bled a lot but that wasn't due to age. I didn't even think of the potential complications at the time but after reading a thread on here about women over 40 ttc, it has made me quite anxious.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:48

@kirinm I completely know where ur coming from. I know I'll be devastated when AF arrives never mind what u went through.
The age is my worry. Not sure how long we will try for. See what happens, DH is younger than me so hes probably not concerned about his swimmers. But he is about my age and complications.

kirinm · 26/06/2020 10:43

@2alreadywantanother I was much more upset than I thought I would be. I guess it is because of my age and I'm worried we have very little time left. I personally don't think I want to try once I'm 43. Just a personal preference - I think TTC ends up putting your life on hold a bit and I don't want that to go on indefinitely. I may feel differently by the time my next birthday comes along though.

I have become stupidly emotional about it all. I really need to try and detach from thinking about it all the time.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:41

Sorry, had to check out what a chemical pregnancy was. That must have been hard.
This kinda thing frightens me, my DH is a worrier and fears the worse. But he always thinks ehats for u wont pass u.
This 2WW is the worst tho lol it's like someone tell me already. I havent even started taking vitamins yet. Must get folic acid this wkend. I was looking up ttc ones, most say not to take if thyroid issues. I've underactive thyroid. So I wont go near them.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:35

@Kirinm the only reason I didnt this month was because when we discussed it and decided it was just a few days into the cycle. I didnt tell him it was my fertile window so as not to out pressure on him, but I'd say he knows 😂😂 poor thing is exhausted lol

kirinm · 26/06/2020 10:30

@2alreadywantanother I would really recommend OPKs. I am 42 and with my cycle getting shorter and no longer feeling ovulation pains - and rarely seeing any CM I was panicking that I wasn't ovulating. But I started doing OPKs and it seems that I definitely am. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and have just got a smiley face on the clear blue OPKs today.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:00

I'm not holding out much hope, day 18 of cycle and hardly any discharge or mucus. I've felt the twinge tho (well think its that) I read the DTD too much can cause that you to be dryer? See what happens. It's our 1st cycle, will try ov test strips next month.
I dont think we missed the opportunity, I'm just not sure if I ovulated 😥

2alreadywantanother · 25/06/2020 08:47

* TMI not tim 🙈

2alreadywantanother · 25/06/2020 08:46

Morning all. Is it possible to have very little or no mucus during over and still get pregnant?
This is our 1st cycle ttc, would it be due to DTD too much?
I had a little mucus 2&3 days ago. Not alot.
Tim sorry, I would be very wet during sex, would this cause less mucus?
Can't find much info about it.
Def think I felt the twinge tho

Em39ma · 24/06/2020 17:01

Hi all I’m 41, had my DD last year at 40.
In the October before I had a miscarriage and I’ve just had another last week. Had an Mva which wasn’t great as you can’t have GA at the moment so had to have it done under local.
We hope to start try again next month

Mumof4andahalf · 24/06/2020 16:26

@Sunshinelove8 I honestly think a blighted ovum/embryonic is so cruel, I threw up this morning as normal yet there's nothing there!
@awbaby Thankyou I'm ok x

@Mumof4andahalf so sorry for your loss. So hard to hear what has happened, hope you're OK. Xx

Sunshinelove8 · 24/06/2020 14:00

I find it so hard they make you wait for a follow up scan , I just wanted to move forward . I took the d&c route both times in the end . I hope you have your dh/dp there to give you lots of hugs xx

Mumof4andahalf · 24/06/2020 13:49

@Sunshinelove8 sorry for your loss 💜 I had an embryonic pregnancy last year followed by a miscarriage so i know what to expect this time round. They want me to return for another scan in a fortnight to check for progress or miscarriage xx

Sunshinelove8 · 24/06/2020 13:34

The reason I ask is having been through it I can hopefully give some advice x

Sunshinelove8 · 24/06/2020 13:21

I’m so sorry @Mumof4andahalf I’ve had 2 mmc and gone weeks feeling everything is fine (also seeing heartbeats) when everything was over weeks before - it’s truly heartbreaking. It really is so cruel. You’ll feel in shock today and overwhelmed , sending you all my love .
Have they told you what will happen next ? xxx

lucieloos · 24/06/2020 12:52

Really sorry @Mumof4andahalf thinking of you x
