Ready is having difficulty in getting on the other thread due to length of it, so started a new one.

Back home safe and sound. Procedure was not too bad but definately felt very bruised when I stood up. But they made me a terrific cuppa so I was very happy.

Couple of things to share with you guys...
1 - A HyCoSy has apparently the same point as an HCG, but is done using an ultrasound prode, that looks not dissimilar to something from and Anne Summers catalogue only longer!! They take a load of pics and look at them.

2 - Everything looked fine, but even the Gynecologist commented on the shortness of my Luteal Phase. She could see a folicle starting to swell and getting ready to do its thang (in about 6 days probably) which definately confirms the I am ovulating theory.

3 - She suggested that the next stage might be to do "Folicle Tracking". Anyone got the LowDown on that??

Hugs to all

NappyValley · 12/09/2007 08:26

Forgot to temp this morning - a bit nervous.
minxi - gald all went well and there are no problems with the plumbing.

Rah - I totally sympathise with you. I think consultants forget that they are dealing with real people. Maybe that is their way of coping but it really is RUDE and unnecessary. I was really nervous of the consultant as he seemed really late and grumpy but actually when we met him he was very good. To the point but not unfriendly and wanted to amke sure I had not given up hope. Sorry that yours was so unfeeling Rah. I wonder if the consultnants treat their private clients the same way????

minxi · 11/09/2007 16:26

Well I had the procedure and all was fine - it didn't take very long and tubes are patent - which means all is perfect?! So will carry on as normal this month as early on in cycle....then will see consultant again on 9th October...he may increase dosage of clomid or just see what happens...but feel much better

RahRah1 · 11/09/2007 16:03

Hi Nappy

All seems pretty positive. So glad they managed to fit it in tomorrow and that he was impressed with your charting!! Mine did not even look at my charts.. He is V rude! . He has seen us several times over the last few years, preformed a procedure on me and even did my first scan when I was pregnant with Bertie and to top it all off did tests on me when Bertie died and still did not even recognise me or make any attempt to acknowledge either me or my husband. And to top it all off he did not read our file before we went in, so he had to refresh his memory as we went along! I have one word for him, but will not put it on here. It is so unfair having to deal with people like him when you are in the pit of despair and your world is crumbling around your feet... Oh and the word begins with B!

Sorry for my rant - I hate rude consultants!! GRRRRRRR

Greetings All

Gracie have heard lots of good things about reflexology and if nothing else it is very relaxing. A lot of people who do it also do massage, so I suggest save money on OPK kits and book in a back and shoulder massage and reflex near the mid of your cycle and enjoy. You deserve it!!

Minxi how it all went ok. See below for comments on our trip to clinc as I think I have the same thing booked in but they called it a HyCoSy (as in Hi-cose-e).

Ready blood tests last month showed very low progesterone levels so GP reckoned I was no OVing

Trip to clinic
Yes just back from trip to clinic with DH. Arrived on time but not seen for ages as consultant did not turn up on time! So rude. Anyway moving on had a medical history taken etc and finally saw consultant who was impressed by my wad of FF charts and said that he had just reccomended that website to another patient, but said stay off the chat rooms. I agreed and told him to send them to MumsNet instead!!!!!

Moving on he confirmed that yes if you have a biphasic chart you are ovulating even though my FSH and Progesterone levels are low. Basically my body is getting on (ONLY 33) from a fertile point of view and hence the problem. He does want DH to do a sperm test and for me to have a HyCoSy and although there is a 3 month wait, they have a cancellation for tomorrow and as we hve not got around to any sex for weeks, I am good to go. (minix- the no sex bit is to ensure you are not pregnant before the procedure I was told) So the Pregnancy Panda is doing her thing and I have my check tomorrow and DH is doing his in a couple of weeks. kThe follow up appointment is in MARCH, so we will probably swithc to private if the tests come back with anything that we can do anything about. Otherwise he was very positive and said that there is no need to be despondent and keep going.

got to dash have a counselling appointment.

ttfn and thanks Ready for the great info on the procedure.

nh101 · 11/09/2007 10:35

I am confused! My temp went back down today (36.59 from 36.78) so maybe I haven't OV'd after all. I know Clomid can mess up your temps, but thought that was only at the beginning when you are on the medication.

Could I have OV'd anyway even though the temp has gone down? It was around 36.52 before Monday's spike so it hasn't gone right back down.

I suppose I will have to just keep on BDing and try not to get too bothered (although I felt shattered this morning after seeing the temp - I feel like I will never OV!)

I have only OV'd once since my MC (in March!!) After getting PG first month after coming off the pill and thinking I was super fertile this is hard to take!

minxi · 11/09/2007 10:11

Thanks Ready and Rah...not going until this afternoon - not looking forward to it (also on my own so bit nervous) but hey better to know than not if anything is wrong...guess I will probably see how I am as cd6 still potentially a week to go before I ovulate so dh on standby for action...?!

Sorry to hear af may be on its way Rah !

Gracie I agree with Ready LP is the important bit - usually stays about the same length after ov...

Nappy Hope all well with you

everyone else hi - will let you know how I get on later....

RahRah1 · 11/09/2007 09:14

GOOD LUCK MINXI FOR TODAY!!!

I'm in a sulk, my temp has dipped and have cramping, so AF is due

Gracie, my ovulation always differs so it does happen. LP is normally quite static unless my body wants to give me false hope

Nappyvalley, when is your appointment? Good luck!

Sorry to hear that your ovulation caught you by surprise Rattling - but there's nothing wrong with a little recreation as opposed to procreation from time to time How are you?

Rah - OOoooooh KITCHENS!! Hope you find something you like Well done on the car boot - you are braver than me getting up early on a sunday morning
It's funny you mention Duchesse - I was thinking about her this morning... I wonder if her ears are burning

Gracie - I don't think there is anything to worry about if ovulation differs. As far as I can recall, the LP is the important part really. Lots of things can affect when the eggs come out, stress etc. And who here isn't at least a teeny bit stressed??
I think reflexology sounds like it will be good as a relaxation tool at the very least. Hope you get on well with it

nh101 - Fingers crossed with you that you have ovulated. It's been a long time coming for you hasn't it!! Hopefully this is the sign of good things to come!

Minxi - If you are checking this before your appointment, good luck today!! If you've been, then I hope that it went well
It's a good question you ask. I wondered myself. I even started a thread, but unfortunately didn't get many responses. Lissie said that she caught but miscarried in the month following, and she thinks the mc could have been due to the dye. So she suggested giving it a break.
I was quite tender for a few days afterwards, and ovulated the day after the procedure, so we kind of had a forced break - but my cycle was a bit odd, and I did wonder if we had caught . I am not doing a good job of answering your question am I. I am not sure really. Might be worth asking the Dr when you are there? Something I should have done!

nappyValley - I think I missed a thread of yours saying that you had a problem? Either that or I have forgotten - good luck with the consultant. Do let us know how you get on. Lytham you say? As in St. Annes? Well you probably drove past me on the way then

How is everyone else??

Was caught off guard with a slightly early ovulation - so most of our activity over the weekend was entirely entertainment rather than procreational

Having tried not temping (didn't like that at all) I am going with a new method this cycle. I'm going to take my temps - but not look at them, hand them over to DH to note down so that I'll have my charts eventually, but not worry about tiny degree fluctuations. So I'll be merely lurking for the next couple of weeks.

Sounds like everyone is reasonably upbeat at the moment. Long may that continue

Hi all, well I'm back abit happier have had a relaxing weekend and have been trying to get things into perspective which for me is a surprise. I think I have already said that this will be my last month temping and I proberly won't post after this month either and then will see what happens naturally until the beginning of next year. After that I don't know but I need to take one month at a time really. So I want some BFP's from you all before I go

nh101 - so pleased for you I hope that your cycles are getting back on track for you. I think that I ovulated yesterday as well as I had a temp rise this morning but will wait to see what fertility friend says so we will be cycle buddies by the looks of it

Ready - Thanks for your kind message - I need to realise that stress is doing me no favours in baby making or work/home life and I'm not going to change anything by allowing this to happen. I have been looking into reflexology and may give it a try over the next couple of cycles and see how I feel after that. How are you doing?

Hope everybody else is okay

One quick question I know it is normal to vary on ovulation days but I have ovulated over the last three cycles CD23, CD12 and now possibly CD17 , my luetal phase tends to be about 12 days. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

RahRah1 · 10/09/2007 10:38

minxi - best of luck for Tuesday. I had a lap and dye and then caught that month with Bertie. I think I read on another thread that it increases the chances of conceiving for the first 3 months after the procedure. It must be the clear tubes and easier for the little men to get up!

Hello to everyone else. Nothing to report this end. Had a busy weekend looking at kitchens for our new house. I don't like the kitchen that the builders have put in, but we have looked at the option of ripping it out and its rather costly. so instead we are going for some upgrades on the kitchen, so hopefully we will like it more. We are going to have a lovely glass cooker instead of stainless steel and have the worktops changed and some more units put in to define the kitchen from the dining area.
Sorry for my kitchen waffle... but its all exciting stuff. I saw th most fab kitchen with white gloss cupboards and this mineral work surface that is like glass. I am in love with a kitchen! (Will it give me babies though [humm] ).
I also went to the tile place and looked at tiles, a 30th birthday and then did a car bootie over the weekend to get rid of our attic junk. (Not a big fan of car boot sales, but a good way of getting rid of junk)

Anyway better go, before I put you all to sleep... Hope all is well for everyone.

Anyone seen Duchesse????

Thanks for the advice - must go as house a tip (visitors all weekend!!)

Hi to everyone else...will let you know how it goes tomorrow

Ready · 08/09/2007 12:37

Forgot to temp this morning. Slap wrist.

Welcome (delayed) to the thread LittleSquirt

Gracie - Sorry you are feeling down. It's awful when a close friend is pregnant, especially without seemingly trying. Kinda sticks in your throat. Look for the silver lining, at least they don't know you are trying. My BF caught really quickly, and she knows I am ttc. Our friendship is not what it was
I think having a break from it all sounds like a good idea. And you know what, you will probably fall when you are not thinking about it. It's such a cliche, but it does happen. Take care of yourself

Minxi - Sorry flower, I meant to tell you all about the HSG last post, but forgot. I am rubbish aren't I? How are you? Sorry that your clomid cycles are up. Good luck on Tuesday... here goes.

It's like having a smear in a way. You are on the table, legs bent at the knee, laying there in your hospital gown, feeling very vulnerable.
The radiographer and doctor will be there, and talk you through what will happen.
The speculum goes in (a la smear test) and then a little bit of antiseptic (!). Then they insert a fine tube (canula), that has a balloon attached. Don't panic about the balloon. It's inflated to keep the tube in place. It didn't hurt, it just felt uncomfortable for a minute - much like a smear. Once the canula is in place, they pass the dye through into your uterus. I was told this would hurt - but I didn't feel anything more than butterflies. I have read about people in lots of pain, so I was scared that it would really hurt. But luckily for me it didn't.
I was told to put my legs down. A little strange with the speculum still in place . Then they take the x-rays. I got to look at the screen and see the dye in my body. Which was weird, but kinda cool. I could clearly see my uterus and tubes You have a couple of films taken, I was asked to lift my left side and then my right (not sure why?)
Then they take out the tube and the speculum. I found this the worst bit if I am honest, like pulling out a plug . Don't be alarmed if you bleed. I looked down and saw a bit of blood and the radiographer saw the panic in my face. It's very common.
They gave me a pad, and told me to go the the toilet. There was a little more blood. Then I had to get dressed, sit out in the waiting room, have a cup of tea, and after about 20 minutes they take one last x-ray to see how far the dye has "spilled". In my case, my tubes were clear, uterus was perfect, and the dye spilled very well [smug] - you will get the official results from your consultant. But the radiographer was able to tell me that I had "filled and spilled" - which is essentially what they are looking to happen.

Sorry about that long ol' diatribe.

How is everyone????

No clomid this month as not supposed to actively ttc but if the procedure is on day 6 then surely there is another week to go before day 14 - unless i guess there is anything wrong...have no idea?! slightly stressed but am ok

ZAMMUMMY I am soooooooooo pleased for you. I hope everything goes well for you.

Gracie sorry you felt low. Don't give up hope but some of the girls have found that stopping temping for a while has really helped their morale. It is really hard when it seems all around can get pregnant.

Thinking - good goal setting. Fingers crossed on those. And that there is no more limbolond for you.

Welcome LittleSquid. Good idea to temp and get a better understanding of your cycle.

As for me well we are off to the consultant on tuesday. but since we know now there IS a problem we are very relaxed about it. I to say having done some research I have to say that I think i AM ovulating but that I do not have enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. But we shall see.

Maybe I should join rah on the wacky weed and acupuncuture it is always worth a shot.

nh101 · 07/09/2007 14:50

Gracie, are you able to pinpoint ovulation? if not, then don't get down about ttc. Maybe you are not OVing at all - if so then it is no surprise you are not PG! If you are not OVing don't worry - there are drugs to help you do that. Get off to the doc's and get yourself in the system. I only had to see a private consultant once and then pay £18 for my drugs to go on Clomid. Don't know how much the doc cost but can't have been more than £150. Well worth it to get OV drugs.

Hello goingfor3 and littlesquirt - I had MC in March. Good luck! Goingfor3 if you got OPK+ then you are about to OV. With temping, you need three consecutive daily high temps to be sure you have OV'd as one high temp might not be accurate. Try fertilityfriend.com to help with charting.

Hi all, hope you all okay

Well I'm struggling abit today just found out a very close friend of mine is pregnant (she doesn't know I have been trying) she only came off the pill a month ago - I'm so happy for her but feel like I could burst into tears any moment and very .

I was doing really well this month as well thinking positively and now I'm completely thrown. I suppose I'm going to have to come to terms with the fact that something could be wrong with me and will have to go to the doctors and get myself sorted soon - what if there is something wrong I feel sick even thinking that could be possible. Obviously sticking my head in the sand isn't going to help either. I don't know whether to wait until the new year and carry on hoping that it happens before then or not.

Sorry to bring the thread down I just san't talk to anyone about this in RL.

Hi everyone, may I join you?

I am CD5 today, 3rd cycle of TTC after MC in June but then I am not sure whether I have ovulated since my ERPC on 2nd July. This is the reason why I have decided to start temping from this month, I am also using FertilyFriend to keep track of it and finding it really useful.
Also, this was my 1st PG after being on the pill for 13 years so not quite sure what my cycle should be like. Was quite happy to have AF 33 days after ERPC and then following cycle was 29 days so I am hoping my body is back to normal now. Fingers crossed.

Congrulations to ZamMummy, so exciting to see BFP's happening on this thread! Baby dust to us all!
