BOOOOHOOOOOO... I'm going off to weep in a corner

I'm Rah - aged 32, 11th cycle since having Bertie our first baby who we sadly lost after he was born. We tried for 18 months for him, so we been trying for ages in total!
Right I'm even more depressed, so off to crack open a new bag of herbs.. lol..

I wonder how much different it feels ttc in your 20s. I am still in my 20s (28) and have been ttc over a year now, and it's hard going. I assume it must feel harder if you are in your 30s?? Sigh. Not trying to make anyone feel bad - it's just something that I think about.

What are the age ranges on this thread at the moment?? The group has changed a fair bit since it began

I'll start:

Hi Ready!!!

I know what you mean nh101, I am 31 (32 at the end of next month) and only started feeling broody last year. Now I feel envious of all the people who are TTC and still in their 20's, I feel like it would be easier for me if I was younger - although thinking about it I'm not sure why because everyone around me seems to be pregnant or giving birth right now and they are all older than me.
Actually just found about about another pregnancy today and she is 40! Didn't seem to have any issues, fell as soon as they decided to TTC again after their DD1! I am very happy for her but also very and a bit .

nh101 · 20/09/2007 15:30

Gracie it is shit isn't it? Having my MC and then TTC again has been the blackest time of my whole life. I don't know how people go through years of ttc. I was lucky I got pg first cycle ttc (but MC'd anyway in march). I am on Clomid now cos AFs were AWOL - first Clomid AF is due Monday. Am going to test tomorrow (am quietly confident )

But I am 30 and I never worried about my age in terms of having kids, but I now realise that was a bit short-sighted

Rattling - ARE YOU THERE??? I am hoping that your disappearance is a good thing, and that you will be joining us with news of a BFP really soon!!!! Fingers crossed.

Gracie - I am so sorry about the temp drop. Big hugs. Plenty of your naughtiest/favourite treats are in order!!

Rah - Congrats on the weightloss!! I had been doing well myself, but the stress of the house sale is forcing me to eat!

minxi - Fingers crossed that a little swimmer found his way through.

Thinking- You sound sleepy!! Go nap Hope you are ok?

LittleSquirt - We are overdue a BFP for sure on this thread!!

nh101 - Good luck for the weekend

NappyValley -Fettle was induced, didn't have a c-section. She has a liver condition, and that meant she was monitored daily.

Hi all,

Well temp drop for me today so AF will obviously be making her unwelcome appearence anyday now.

I will be having a break from temping after this cycle proberbly until the new year now - I have my first reflexology appointment next Thursday - so will see how that goes.

Looks like a few of us are on a weight loss kick well done Rah and Minxi - I have only lost about 5 pounds so far another 13 to go and hoping thats going to help make a difference as well - It's strange this month I don't seem as down as I have been that AF is going to arrive - all this trying has taken the fun out of possibly getting pregnant I wish I could get excited like I did at the start.

Anyway - hope everybody is well

Thinking · 19/09/2007 17:22

Sorry, I have been missing in action as such.

I locked myself out of FF and thought sod it, why bother temping if I end up with another 50 day cycle and as DH seems to be running for the hills when I'm in the mood, there is very little chance of catching even if I ovulated.

So I aim to unlock FF and if I get a reasonable short cycle this month, I'll start temping again for next cycle.

Looks like I have a lot of reading to do to catch up.

Anyway off to nap with my baby girl, I am so tired...she isn't sleeping at night and I can barely keep my eyes open.

LittleSquirt · 19/09/2007 15:25

Oh, I really hope so for you nh101 - I am sure we are due a (well, at least 1) new BPF on this thread by now!!!

Keep us posted! xxx

nh101 · 19/09/2007 14:48

Hey littlesquirt - I am on Clomid now so yes it looks like I am going to have a 28-day cycle this month (according to my temps)

And yes I am hoping for a BFP this weekend!

RahRah1 · 19/09/2007 13:41

Well done minxi on losing weight... woohooo... always helps! I've lost nearly a stone and half now. I am now pre baby weight... woohooo..(thank god - god knows how much weight I would of put on if I had gone full term?!!)
Like littlesquirt said, CD10 can work out just fine! Have my fingers crossed for you. XX If it does not happen this month you might end up on IUI with me in the new year (Usually after clomid the consultants move onto treatments). How much time can they give us?? that pee's me off when they say that!

OP posts:
LittleSquirt · 19/09/2007 13:33

Minxi - there is still hope with BDing on CD10, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

nh101 I did see your posts where you mentioned your MC after falling PG just after you stopped the pill and did think it was so similar to my story.

So sorry to hear about your sad anniversary on Tuesday , will be thinking of you. Is your cycle back to being regular now? I see that you are on CD24 today so if you don't have your period by next Tuesday then it might be good news for you this month anyway? I really hope so for you! x

Hi girls...well cd14 today and no bd since cd10 - dh home tonight late (like 10pm) but think that if I didn't catch cd10 then missed this month actually think I ovulated as had pains on Sunday and lots of cm sunday/monday...hey ho on a positive note can keep on healthy eating to lose a few pounds.. Last month of clomid next month and also back to see consultant beginning October - so will see what he says...probably give it time !!

Rattling and Gracie you are our hopefuls to focus on at the moment - any news?!

nh101 · 19/09/2007 11:56

Thanks for your kind words re. my edd. I have arranged to go for dinner that night and then to watch Man City (love em) with my mum and dad (DH has another important event to go to which I didn't want him to miss).

Zita says eat warm food, drink warm drinks and wear warm clothes! I am still having my sandwich for lunch though (may move to jacket potatoes next month if not successful this time).

RahRah1 · 19/09/2007 11:40

nh101 - will be thinking of you on Tuesday. I know how painful it is. I found the run up to my EDD harder than the actual day. Hope its peaceful for you. Big Hugs {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

Did Zita explain how to keep your womb warm? Any tips?

OP posts:
nh101 · 19/09/2007 10:49

Littlesquirt - I also got PG straight after coming off the pill and then MC'd (baby died at 10+4). I think it is quite common. My periods were all over the place after that so now I am on Clomid. My EDD is next Tuesday .

Good luck temping!

Rah Rah - I am cold ALL the time! Zita does say you need to keep your womb warm when ttc! If Clomid doesn't work for me this month will definitely go to see a complementary medicine person.

RahRah1 · 19/09/2007 09:33

Howdy all...

I think my Chinese herbs are giving me a hangover! my head has been killing for days. The things we do!

Anyway it is all very interesting. Basically the Chinese see people who have unexplained infertility as 'nearly fertile'. They use a balance of herbs and acupuncture to increase the blood flow to the reproductive system. When I went for my consultation he has very interested in my low blood pressure, bleeding and clots in pregnancy and period times and if I am ever cold. Which I am all the time! This means that my circulation is not as good as some's and can hinder fertility. So hence why he thinks a course of Chinese medicine would help me. Anyone else got any of these symptoms?

Better go, hope everyone is well... XX

Just had to say HELLO rainbowdays. and thanks for update on mini-fettle. Guess it is a planned c-section then? To all our newbies this thread has produced much success - I am sure Ready or Rah have the exact numbers, but back in May/June we had a whole raft of BFPs many for peeps who had been trying for a long time. So do not give up hope.

Little Squirt I am glad you are getting the positive side of temping. I find it really reassuring to be able to see my cycle. As for coming off the pill, it seems to affect different people different ways, I know loads of people who would say you are more fertile just after you come off it, but personally, I think they were just lucky.

FIngers crossed for some more BFPs this month too.

Hi everyone!! Sorry I disappeared for a while, have been madly busy with work for the past couple of weeks.

Well, this is my first month temping and I was so excited to see that I did ovulate on CD13!! It was also falling over the weekend so did tons of BD'ing. Fingers crossed although don't think I will actually get that elusive BFP this month. I read in my Zita West fertility book that it can take up to 18 months to conceive after being on the pill for a while and as I was on it for 13 years (stopped in April, fell PG straight away but then had a MC) I have a feeling it might take me a while - trying to get used to idea so I don't get too disappointed when AF keeps turning up (who am I kiding here?).
Anyway, also read that "normal" cycles could take a while to return but had a 29 day cycle last month and this one is shaping up to possibly be 27 or 28, so that's actually quite a nice surprise. Still don't know how long my luteal phase will be though.

Anyway, you don't hear from me for weeks and suddenly you can't shut me up!!! Sorry to highjack the thread!!!!

Fingers crossed for loads of BFP's this month!!!
