Cobweb - Fingers crossed that these next 10 days are more stress free for you. Take care.

hester · 11/10/2004 18:19

Cobweb, you are being so brave. Lots of love and hugs from me too. I'm not a great one for prayer but I just sent a little one up for you.

Jeddah - it's great to have you here, and you'll feel part of the group very soon. Part of the problem is that it's such a fast-moving thread that people who only have time to pop in now and then miss out on the flow of conversation. You'll find a way, though! I just posted to you on the other thread and said that I don't think you should worry about this month - you BDed on your day of ovulation and that's the main thing. Next month you could up your chances even more by BDing a bit earlier, but you haven't blown your chances this month by any means. Loads of women get pg doing what you've just done!

Cosybear - it depends what anti-depressant you're on, but I THINK (don't KNOW - note the health warning) that the current advice for the major ones (prozac, seroxat) is that:

  • they haven't found evidence of links to birth defects etc
  • but it is difficult to say for sure they are safe (ethics of mass testing on pg women, I imagine)
  • generally it is better to stay off drugs when ttc, even ones which we consider relatively safe, just because we can't fully know
  • but this may be outweighed in individual cases by the risks of coming off anti-depressants.

A friend of mine who is on seroxat and ttc discussed it with her doctor and they agreed it would be best for her to stay on it, because any known risks were outweighed by the benefits of her staying balanced at this stage in her life. But I think it's an individual decision to be reached in discussion with your doctor.

Finally, Made4it - - thanks for giving me my first laugh of the day. I've been sitting here fighting back tears - no AF yet but period pains kicking like a mule - thinking I will never, ever hold my own baby in my arms. I can't tell you how fed up I am with OPKs, pillows under bum, folic acid, grapefruit juice and cough syrup. I am sick of having my life measured out in two-week portions, and I would dearly love never to stare at another blue line, ever ever again. You described it beautifully!

Hulababy · 11/10/2004 18:17

Conmgratulations Mrs Flowerpot

Cobweb · 11/10/2004 16:19

Runtus I think I will babe, chocolate here I come.

I feel a bit better as I had a cuppa with a friend and she said "look stop punishing yourself with every worry and look after yourself, what will be will be".

Although its a cliche I think I should try and be positive. I am there was a definate flicker of a heartbea. Just worried about the sac being so small because I don't know if the sac has collapsed and miscarriage is pending or whether my dates are just off slightly and maybe its smaller because of that.

Thank goodness I didn't move over to the June thread and stayed here.

Thank you girls, just don't know how to thank you enough for helping me through this (((hugs)))

Love Cobweb xxx

Pier · 11/10/2004 16:00

Congratulations Mrs Flowerpot! It's great to hear some good news on a Monday.
Cobweb - Thinking of you at the moment. I hope that your GP can help you. Is it possible to speak to them on the phone?
Jeddah - my understanding of ovulation is that BDing should occur up to two days before and on ov day. I have read lots of info which say as much as 5 days before to the day after so my conclusion is keep BDing!

Can anyone advise me on when I should test. My periods have been between 30 and 33 days except for last month when it was 40. Its CD28 today.

MINNIE1 · 11/10/2004 14:56

HPT- Home pregnancy test
OV- ovulation
BD'ing- baby dancing (Making babies!!)
AF- antie flow (period)
CD- Your cycle date. eg: CD1 first day of AF
DH / DP dear husbund, dear partner

Hope this helps guys, You'll have the hang of it in no time..

runtus · 11/10/2004 14:52

Nah - I just got there first!

Twiga · 11/10/2004 14:49

Runtus, that was much clearer than my waffle

Twiga · 11/10/2004 14:48

Jeddah, sorry, didn't quite answer your question properly - starting a new thread is posting under a new topic heading, this can be a question, statement, or anything really - done as I decribed a min ago. Hope you don't feel too left out, it can be hard when you start posting, I've only been around 3 months and it didn't take long to find my feet. Have you had a look at the acronym list at the top of the page, that might help too. Hope this Helps (HTH)!

runtus · 11/10/2004 14:46

Jeddah, If you want to start a new topic or have a specifc question you can start a new thread, otherwise just post your comments/questions etc in the TTC#11 thread as previously.....hope that helps

Twiga · 11/10/2004 14:45

Hi Jeddah - to start a new thread, go to the index list under any topic heading and right at the top there is a line which reads: to start a new topic click here. Click there, and away you go x

runtus · 11/10/2004 14:44

Oh and Cobweb - just remembered that Sweetheart will kill me if I don't tell you to eat your own body weight in chocolate this evening!

runtus · 11/10/2004 14:44

Quick message to Cosybear and Jeddah - just wanted to say a big welcome! We were all new once and sorry if it feels like we are all a bit cliquey right now. You'll pick up the lingo in a jiffy belive me, when I first saw the site I thought 'oh my god, what are they all on about??', the prob is MN gets very addictive!

On the matter of when the right time to bd is, I know the days BEFORE ov are supposed to be the important ones but there are hundreds of people who fall pg when they have only done it 1 after ovulation - so never say never!

The main thing is not to get too hung up on dates, cycles all that neurotic stuff - it is all to easy to fall into believe me!

jeddah · 11/10/2004 14:40

Hi guys new comer here again
Can you explain what starting a new thread means?
I am really confused as I am wanting to talk, but everyone seems to be talking to everyone...is there a system where do I start

Tessiebear · 11/10/2004 14:32

Afternoon all! I have had a lovely weekend in which i made a concious decision NOT to think about all this TTC malarkey - i feel quite refreshed now! CD 26 but i didnt get the egg white until CD 22 (Bded once on CD23) Will test NEXT Friday unless AF comes in the mean time. Dont hold out much hope for this cycle as it has been a really weird one having just come off the pill and dont think i have done enough BDing at the "right time"
ANYWAY - MRS FLOWERPOT ((((((((((((CONGTATULATIONS))))))))))))) [Grin]
Runtus, KRocket
Cobweb - so glad you got semi-good news - what an agonising 10 days though!
Cosybear - good luck trying and welcome - i didnt come of AD's until i found out i was pg with DS1
Made4it - poor you - was very amused by your monalogue!!!
Spykid - i would try and wait till at least your due date to test so you dont get a FALSE negative
Hi Tania - good luck BDing
Hula- did you have a nice weekend?

jeddah · 11/10/2004 14:29

Hi cosybear
I too am a new member....not sure about all the codes also! ans everyone seems to know eachother so well!
feel like a bit of an outsider..... but I guess thats expected.

Just ov 3 days ago, loys of BD but upset as I have been informed that I have a low chance of being pregnant this month as I had BD day of ov and 2 days after!!

Apparently I we should have had BD 2 days before OV and day of OV.... bit pissed off really (sorry can we swear on this site??)
can anyone shed a bit of light?

krocket · 11/10/2004 14:28

oh cobweb, poor poor you, not sure what help I can be or useful advice I can give but sending you positive thoughts. x

runtus · 11/10/2004 14:25

Cobweb - can you go to A&E an request an emergancy scan?I know you have already seen someone today but shouldn't stop you getting help

LipstickMum · 11/10/2004 14:20

Cobweb. Really sorry to hear what is happening after a seemingly hopeful scan earlier. Just very, very sorry.

MINNIE1 · 11/10/2004 14:19

Cobweb, {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}
Could you ring your GP,

spykid · 11/10/2004 14:19

Oh Cobweb((((((hugs)))))
Really feel for you, how worrying. You can vent all your worries here, and there is so much support.
Rest up as much as you can ,and let your dh and mom do as much as they can for you round the house.
Prioritise yourself and how you are feeling, whatever makes you feel better, do it...or say it!!!
Here if you need to chat((((MORE HUGS)))))

Twiga · 11/10/2004 14:17

Oh cobweb, don't know what to say {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Cobweb · 11/10/2004 14:14

I am all over the place as I write this

I really don't feel very hopeful over the pregnancy

Since coming home from the scan my left hand side has been so painful and I have just been to the loo and there is blood on the tissue again

Haven't told anyone but DH and Mum about the pregnancy, so feel you girls are the only ones I can talk to (((hugs)))

I really feel like I am miscarrying and can't stop worrying about it

spykid · 11/10/2004 14:11

going to MAKE myself wait until Wednesday at least, it's just so hard though!
In my heart I think I may be imagining my symptoms, or wishing them on myself, keep asking dh if boobs look any bigger!(think he secretly enjoys this though!)

MINNIE1 · 11/10/2004 14:07

spykid, I know i fell like mine are filling up but not acheing.. When will you test?
