MommyD · 14/10/2004 17:07

ok ladies - think i am going mad. This morning there was no way i was pg.
This afternoon i have had something that i have only had twice before (both times when i was pg) and that is a strange, heavy, dragging sensation in my bbs!! i'm beginning to think i might be pg!
But i can't be - this is first month of trying for #3 and we only bd on cd10&11. I am 9po. Anyone else know THAT feeling that I am talking about?

Twiga · 14/10/2004 17:04

It's getting really hard to keep up with you lot - I think a new thread soon would be good but really want to see if we can hit Hesters estimated ssix graduates first! There are quite a few of us getting towards testing time, so... ! CD24 here....

Big Welcome to Binatracy, Chuffed and Mariella!

Huge CONGRATULATIONS! to Lipstickmum x

Shely, you've been through so much and have an amazing ammount of courage, what a lovely mum you are. So glad you have a fab dh and hope you get the baby you long for real soon {{{hugs}}} x

Ebbie22, don't you feel bad for being away, life gets hectic sometimes - good to see you!

Cobweb, no need to feel guilty - with you for the long haul through the next few days - hang on in there x

Sallie sorry about AF {{{hugs}}} and stupid job , hope it's not long before you can go off on maternity - +++++++++++*

Hi to everyone else, really enjoying being part of this thread !

Bagpuss30 · 14/10/2004 16:25

Mariella , you have hit the nail on the head, dh's family are quite distant at times and his sis does get most of the attention. I think that dh is quite hurt by this and has just learned to be really independant.

Sallie, we must be living in parallel universes or something! The old one of each arguement rings true here too. Names are another thing. My ds is named after my dad and sil's ds after her dad (insert eye rolling emoticon) but thankfully we have never argued over it. How awful for you to have your sil do that though, it must have been upsetting .

Sallie · 14/10/2004 15:38

well said Mariella!!! I know exactly where you are coming from, Bagpuss. My sil didn't speak to us for about 9 months after we told her I was expecting ds. Noone in dh's family is expecting us to have a third as we have one of each. These sorts of things aren't an issue in my family but in his they are big time. There was an issue with SIL over what we called dd as she wanted to call her dd (born a year earlier!!) that name but didn't in the end and I am sure there will be an issue whether she has a girl or boy. No idea whether they are stopping at two but she is quite a bit older than me....anyway just wanted to say that this situation doesn't seem unusual at all, sadly.

GeorgesMummy · 14/10/2004 15:31

Hello to you all. I am spending a fortune on pg tests at the mo and am considering buying them from medisave, does anyone know if their tests are good?

Sexyandhappy, I am in the same situation, already have DS 13 months and am ttc for a second time. Neither of our families have a clue and would freak as they think we don't have the money. But we are managing fine and what we do have is a lot of love to give and we think that that's most important. Because we know our families will be against a second baby we have decided not to tell them til after the 12 week scan. It will be interesting to see their faces when I present them with the scan picture!

mariella · 14/10/2004 15:31

Bagpuss, why should your SIL's babies/pregnancies be any more important than yours? I think that is such a sad attitude of your family its not like its a competition or anything. Go and get pregnant, we all think your babies are VERY important here on mumsnet and will be very pleased for you!!

mariella · 14/10/2004 15:28

so does anyone know what happens when you take a mirena out? you all seem to know so much about ovulation! I kept having periods while on the mirena (but lighter) and would normally be due one in the next few days anyway but I dont' know if that is changed by the removal or not.

Bagpuss30 · 14/10/2004 15:24

Sallie, Mariella, MommyD, Spykid, Runtus, Minnie1 and Pamina3 (hope I've got everyone there) , thank you all for your comments you have really cheered me up. I know it should just be mine and dh's business but as they are the only family we've got nearby I don't want them to think I'm doing it deliberately IYSWIM. My second pg was met with much the same reaction really as I fell pg just as sil was having her first baby, although everyone knew we were trying, no one was very supportive. Anyway, it feels good to get that off my chest, so thank you

Sexyandhappy · 14/10/2004 15:16

What does your cervical discharge look like when you are pregnant... does anyone know?

Sexyandhappy · 14/10/2004 15:15

Same boat here... everyone assume we're done (I always said I wanted 2 and the decision for 3 is very recent). I think MIL will be supportive (she had 3) my mum will not be but I don't care... she and I get on all right but we are very different!

MINNIE1 · 14/10/2004 14:58

i did a test on line and gave the end of sep start of oct and CM came last week (watery) The last time i waited till day 40 and got a strong pos, A week b4 that i started getting symtoms.. So i will leave it till after the wkend.. Thanks mommyd Your a great help..

MommyD · 14/10/2004 14:37

I'd say that if you ov a week ago, Minnie, then I'd test next Weds. at the earliest....
What makes you think is could have been either of these times?

MINNIE1 · 14/10/2004 14:27

Bagpuss, My DP brother and his wife are married for 2 years no kids and when i was pg last time i could feel the tention between us.. I felt that they were trying and we put the spanner in there works.. Cause were not married we should'nt be tryin for a baby.. The tention was unbarable somtimes.. But it ened in MC..
My own sister is PG well nearly ready to go (heads ingadge) now i can't wait for that.. and i don't feel jealous of her but i am happy and can't wait for the new arrival.. a brand new baby..

MommyD · 14/10/2004 14:16

Minnie - I would not test until day 36. But that's rather a long way off, isn't it? Do you have ANY idea when you ovulated this month?

MINNIE1 · 14/10/2004 14:12

MommyD, had a mc in june so AF is all over the place at the mo.. But my cycles have gotten longer, what day would you test if you had long cycles?? maybe i should leave it till after the wkend

Tania2 · 14/10/2004 14:09

Good night girls iam off to bed ( 11:10pm here) will catch up on all the chat tomorrow. hope you all have a great day and evening.
Happy bding everyone.

runtus · 14/10/2004 14:08

Bagpuss, obviously I don;t know your inlaws so I can't guess what they will say but to be honest, if you and your dh are both of the same mind and want another baby - sod em! It's your life and your choice, if they have a problem with it, then it is exactly that - THEIR PROBLEM not yours.

As you may be able to tell, I am in quite a stroppy mood today (hormones me thinks) so I'm taking myself shopping now........bye all!

spykid · 14/10/2004 14:07

thanks Bagpuss.
I know what you mean, my family just presumed we would stop after 2 kids, and if it ever happens with no.3 there will be a few shocked faces!
I found out my sister was receiving fertility treatment after trying to conceive for year and a half last month. This coincided with us ttc no.3.
I too didn't want to look like I was stealing her thunder, (and also didn't want to upset her in case we had news before her). After discussing it with dh i decided to tell her we were ttc, and that it was coincidental that it was the same month that she told us about her news. She was quite tearful, but she was really glad we had for-warned her. We haven't told anybody else about ttc, but i am glad i stopped a potential upset . HTH!

MommyD · 14/10/2004 14:05

Bagpuss - I have family troubles too, but having a third child is ONLY my dh's and my business, NO-ONE else's. If you want a third child - go for it, and I am sure you will deal with any (unlikely?) fallout. Think how much you will end up resenting family members in years to come, if somehow THEY prevented you from having that third child that you both wanted so much? Go for it girl.
On the fertility thing - I conceived both ds v v quickly (when I was 33 and 34). Certainly don't worry about that at 30!!

mariella · 14/10/2004 14:05

Sorry, have ds1(7), dd(4), ds2(14m). I'd love to have a girl to give my dd a sister but don't really mind.
Bagpuss, in a way it is nice of you to worry about what they think, but isn't this one of thos decisions in life where it doesn't matter what anyone other than your dh and you think? I'd just enjoy the bd-ing and not worry about the rest of the family! If your SIL gets pregnant at the same time that is great, the cousins will be really close.

Tania2 · 14/10/2004 14:03

bagpuss - your in-law family situation sounds sooo similar to mine. My sil is also about to pop with no 2 and had huge issues with us having ds (our first) as she wanted to have the first grandchild etc etc. Am frantic at work right now but wanted to say completely sympathise but you have to do whats right for you. They will come round in the end!!!
