hester- iam going to be bd-ing this guy to death, during my fertile time this month. i don't care if he's tired from work, or has a headache (lol), he's gonna make a deposit every day, whether he likes it or not. god, iam sooo bad. catch you all later after my hsg!!

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:43

Thanks S/heart i wish i had that good feeling just really confused after the BFN this morning...
Sounds like you wont have to wait long then until they get the ball rolling for you fingers crossed you dont have a long wait. nothing worse.

SHELY · 20/10/2004 13:41

thanks hester! i will try what you said to do. glad to hear i am not the only one. i have heard such freakish things as putting, real eggs on to the tip of the penis to mimic that fertile mucus, which i think for sure, would be a huge turnoff to the hubby! not to mention, to me!! and what about salmonala?? i think i'll stick to the traditional. thanks for the heads up!!

sweetheart · 20/10/2004 13:41

Thanks Tania.

They wanted to send me a letter about the scan appointment but seeing as I'm on cd28 now and af is just round the corner I held up a long queue while they gave me the details there and then - that way I can ring them and try and get an apt straight away when af arrives.

I do feel better but at the same time i really hope it doesn't drag on for another 3 months. I can't go back and see the Dr until I've had this scan done so it all depends on that at the moment.

I really hope the herbs have worked for you Tania - I have a good feeling about you!!!

hester · 20/10/2004 13:40

Shely, yes I've had the hysterwhatsit. It's not that bad, honestly - uncomfortable and a faintly unpleasant feeling, but I am the world's biggest wimp and it was really nothing to complain about it. Perhaps about the same level of discomfort as having a filling (a normal one, not a root!) I was advised to take some painkillers before I went, and I think that helped.

I have heard that it can help you conceive right afterwards, though I don't know the evidence for this. I think the theory is that if you have any bits of debris hanging round your tubes it can help flush them out...

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:40

Hester you are going to get a complex from me i always seem to be going to bed when you come in to chat. How rude of me

runtus · 20/10/2004 13:37

Hi guys - sorry been a bit swamped at work today.....crap I know.

I feel a bit bad for slaggin off my GP now, cos he seems to be doing things quickly compared to some of your experiences. I don't see why you should have to wait 3 or 4 months for an appointment, thats just awful! Having said that, S/Heart we are in the same neck of the woods so maybe I shouldn't count my chickens too early.....

I can't wait for my dp to be handed a little pot to 'fill', I might just wet myself laughing!

SHELY · 20/10/2004 13:36

thanks for the reply. that's awful to make you wait so long. totally sucks! well, i hope when you do have your tests, everything comes out a-ok, and if not, i hope that flushing you out, with the dye, can rid you of any problems, not allowing you to conceive then it's totally worth the little pain ya know. the end result, will be sooo much better, that's whats holding me together!! hugs out to you!! i wish you only the best!! i'll let you know how it goes!!

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:36

Good night girls
blows a big kiss waving bye bye*

hester · 20/10/2004 13:35

I've started to keep a pad with me when I read this thread, so I can note down things I need to reply to - otherwise I can't remember, it's just soooo long!! (Admit it, ladies; we are the most rockin thread on Mumsnet right now.)

Shely - I have the exact same problem. It has worried me a fair bit over the years, because theory no fertile CM = no baby. BUT the fact that you are getting wet may well be good enough; I do the same and have read that fertile CM can also be thin and watery, and isn't always the classic eggwhite stuff. ALSO I have a number of friends who swear they never had eggwhite either and who got pg perfectly quickly and easily. If it takes you ages to get pg you could talk to your doctor about the possibility of IUI (intracervical wouldn't be good enough) but until you reach that point you could try the robitussin, grapefruit juice, starflower oil and drinking loads of water - all these are supposed to improve your CM. I try all these in theory, but often forget (cough syrup four times a day? I'm not nearly that organised).

Jeddah - hope you have a great break. I think your husband's got a really good point. When I used to work in infertility clinics there used to be a lot of talk about people who got so hung up on getting pg that they would try to pinpoint ov and only BD then, the result being that they were not giving themselves nearly as many 'chances' as if they were just having happy carefree sex throughout the month. On the ohter hand, many of us don't have the energy or opportunity for sex every 48 hours, and it would be daft to be pushing ourselves into it at times of the month when it is almost guaranteed not to succeed. I think there's a happy medium which is to try to have sex every 48 hours during the week when you are most fertile.

Moschops - hi and welcome

Tania - so sorry to hear that the witch af is on her way to you . Much love and chocolate to you.xx

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:34

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:32

Think i might actually go to bed tonight b4 11.
Hope you all have a great day and evening and noone (including me) have a visit from that B#&ch AF. Good luck Sallie hope it doesnt hurt too much, just keep reminding yourself that it will help you conceive.

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:27

Sweetheart i have been there back in March still waiting for the dye test to see if blocked due to endo and still waiting to have a laperoscapy (spelling?) was told 4 mth wait then told i was bumped of the list cause some dr was going overseas. Ausie health system for ya gave up still owe them money but they can stick it where the sun dont shine for all i care. Hence the reason i am seeing a natrapath in the mean time if my name is called i will be there in a flash.
Its feels good to know that there is light around the corner though doesnt it hope you dont have to wait long. Dh never did his test so really keep on your man to do his. Dh is taking zinc just in case. Angus Cactus would really help with oving so maybe take that until you get your appointment.

SHELY · 20/10/2004 13:23

i think everyone is still asleep lol, except for us, so far!! i think we will need a new thread soon, this one is super long!!

SHELY · 20/10/2004 13:21

got my hysteroscalpogram test in an hour and 1/2 and iam getting scared now. i heard it really hurts, but i also heard there is a greater chance of conception sometimes, afterwards, so iam hoping on that. anyone else gone through this? also, i started using my clear plan monitor about a week ago, does anybody use one of these, with any good results? thanks guys, i guess iam just kind of a baby about the tests, though i do want them done, whatever it takes, i think i just read too much. hugs and baby dust to all!!!

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:19

Hay where is everyone today?????

sweetheart · 20/10/2004 13:19

Afternoon ladies!!!

Sorry to here about those BFN's and af's arriving.

Runtus, my appointment went OK. I had an internal examination and some swabs taken (which is routine apparently)
She felt my stomach before doing it and then proceeded which in ignorance I assume to mean that she was checking if i'm pregnant and i'm not!!! ( i already knew that anyway really though)

I have to have 3 lots of blood test to check my hormone levels because she doesn't think that I am ovulating some months. I also have to go and be injected with dye and have an ultrasound done to ensure there aren't any blockages anywhere.

Only trouble is I have to wait (again) for all these thest to be done. The blood ones will be done on days 1, 21 and 28 or my next cycle and the scan should be done before day 10 of my cycle but I have been warned that it might take another 3 bloody months to get an appointment!!!

If they find i'm not ovulating correctly they are going to give me Clomid to help.

Still the best bit was when they gave dh a jar to uhhhemmmmm..... whispers - deposit a specimin!!!!!!

It's about time he was treated as a guinea pig aswell!!!!!!!!!

Tania2 · 20/10/2004 13:18

Twiga i was the same when pg with ds cant remember when i had done the first test as my af's were all over the place then got a -ive thought nothing of it as we were not really ttc. Dont know how far i was when i started to feel tired just remember dh going out one w/end and i just wanted to stay home and sleep (so not like me) still didnt think anything of it. Then the headaches and feeling sick. When i was 7 weeks pg i was sick in the middle of the night and went to dr's the next morning thinking i had a tummy bug didnt even cross my mind that i would have been pg. I was getting craps af was bound to come.....that was the biggest supprise of my life!!! So with all that you'd think i would have been stronger and not tested yet!

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:16

This weekend is going to be ROCKING with results and hopefully celebrations!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~
Twiga · 20/10/2004 12:13
Tania, last time and only time I've been pg I got a negative the day I was late then a positive four days after that so am gonna wait, that way I'll know the result is accurate - if no af by fri/sun but a bfn I'll know my hormones are still up the spout from mc.
LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:04
