Hey girls... thought I'd make a new post I'm struggling to find new ones 😂 I'm 28 nearly 29 and my other half is also the same age! I'm currently on my period and this is the month we have decided to start trying! I'm so excited but also do not want to get my Hope's up as I know it can be a very long journey to get that BFP! Anyone else trying this month? I'm looking to get ovulation sticks to increase my chances xxx

Let me tell you all... 25 years after ttc.. nothing is too weird.

MN I lived in Indonesia.. had a backpacking guest house. Nearest fertility clinic was in Jakarta.. a 40 min flight, I used to get off the plane , having had an injection of clomid ... and DEMAND my DH dtd (even though he might be checking in the most ridiculously demanding guests.... ) ... and then spend FOUR HOURS with my legs up the wall of a bamboo hut... I tell you that NOTHING compares to the insanity of ttc ...

Went to a fertility doctor in Jakarta who told us DH had low motility... convinced myself the only chance was to return to UK for IVF... one week break on an island near JK waiting for visas .. resulted in our PFB who started her first 'proper job ' today . After gaining her degree.

No.2 already working and No3 just finishing A levels .

My secret ? With no 1, 'knowing' it wouldn't happen and relaxing . No. 2.. not 'needing' another as No1 was all I ever wanted ... No 3 ? Who knows .. but amazing. .

Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 20:09

@pineapple2 If I get my BFP, I am so making a homemade pregnancy test and, well, testing it! DH can be the control 😂

Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 20:05

That's very comforting and reassuring.
I know I've only been doing it for 1 cycle (which is NOTHING in the grand scheme of things) but I am already fed up with legs up the wall, calculating and obsessing. TWW should be a form of torture. To be fair, legs up the wall thing made my husband laugh 😆 That got to count for something 😆

Kittensinmysupper · 17/02/2020 19:00

I swear to god . I kept 'clear blue' (are they even a make anymore ?) share price rising... kept feeling my boobs convinced it was going to happen.... POAS every month at least 5 x ... sends you half insane... honestly !! Half my life wishing I WASN'T PREGNANT... followed by the MUCH worse 5 years wishing I WAS...

The ONLY thing that did it for me was going to a sperm expert who told me DH has low motility ... then I got it in my head it wasn't going to happen.... went on holiday KNOWING this fact.. stopped puttting my legs up the wall after DTD 🙄... hoping the sperm would somehow 'get there' ... just told myself .. 'forget it' there is a reason.. go back to uk and get help... the rest is our families history ...

I know everyone says 'forget about it' (so much easier said than done !) but really it works...

Don't let me start with my Best mate who tried for 17 years ... adopted TWINS ... and then fell pregnant.. with TWINS ..

pineapple2 · 17/02/2020 18:45

@Kittensinmysupper that's amazing. Thanks for sharing. We have been trying for 2 years + so it's nice to hear some positive news..when I say we have been trying for 2 plus years we weren't doing opk and tracking but this time I have...

I have absolutely no aches or soreness in boobs..
I was reading something on the internet about homemade pregnancy tests 😂😂 didn't even know that was a thing. Obviously not scientifically researched I would imagine but was interesting..people using sugar. Google it lol

Kittensinmysupper · 17/02/2020 18:38

Mc2309 I was overseas at the time .. never leave it as long as I did. Had I been in the UK I would ha e been at the GP after 12 months... 56 now.. and my beautiful babies have all nearly left .. just don't want you guys to think it's impossible...

DH had low motility . Once I had a reason I stopped obsessing... went on holiday 'knowing' it was unlikely to happen... but it did...

primrose2020 · 17/02/2020 18:27

@Mc3209 @pineapple2 can't tell you how many times I've prodded at my boobs 😂😂

Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 18:25

@Kittensinmysupper Wow, that's impressive. Really shows that when the body is ready it is ready! Will try not to obsess.

@pineapple2 I keep poking my boobs too, just to check, but nothing out of ordinary.

Kittensinmysupper · 17/02/2020 18:23

Oh ../ forgot the MOST important bit of advice.. BE MARRIED or in civil partnership.. (unless you have an independent income of course !!) Never TTC with a man who doesn't have the commitment to commit to you in a legally binding way . (Unless it's not in your interest to do so)

Kittensinmysupper · 17/02/2020 18:20

Good luck to everyone of you... I spent 5years ttc .. went to GP for referral to IVF clinic , GP did blood test for me and refereed DH to nhs for sperm test .. phoned me 3 days later telling me he couldn't refer for IVF because I was pregnant... never say never... 2 in quick succession and then 3rd 6 years later... never took contraception..

My only (impossible) advice is not to think about it tooooo much...

pineapple2 · 17/02/2020 18:10

@abby25 yeah Florida (Disney) was amazing. We went for my daughters 18th birthday.
Morocco wow that is very expensive for a week..I would want at least 2 weeks for that price 😂
I know it shouldn't of done but I did laugh when you said "your ovaries nearly burst" as that's what I feel every time I see someone pregnant...

@Mc3209 11dpo could still be early, like everyone is saying you are still in the game..it's so hard not to rest..

I really want to test now but only 6/7dpo..I was symptom spotting the last few days but the symptoms I was experiencing (In my head) have completely gone..keep pressing my chest just to check if they hurt but nope...

Saturday is the day for me to test..or I might wait a little longer to test on a cheapie as it's a waste of money when we have been trying for so long..

How's everyone feeling?

primrose2020 · 17/02/2020 18:03

I feel like I'm out too, no symptoms whatsoever apart from my head telling me I could be super lucky and it's happened first try. Did quite enjoy being at work today and not thinking about it as much, even though there's 2 girls pregnant at work and 4 men who's partners are!

Still trying to think positive though.. surely one of us at least will get a BFP!!

Elley2912 · 17/02/2020 17:24

@abby25 I've started to feel some of my usual AF symptoms so I'm sure I'm the same. I'm thinking next month I might not use the OPKs and just DTD as much as possible. I've found it a bit all-consuming!

abby25 · 17/02/2020 17:15

I havent even brought any tests yet as I know I would start doing them every day 🤣 just doing the one on the Saturday I'm so convinced it's going to be negative dont want to even do it lol xxx

OP posts:
Elley2912 · 17/02/2020 16:56

Ahh @mc3209 I'm sorry but as @abby25 says... you're not out yet!

I'm so stupid. I caved and used the last IC I had sitting around even though I know at 7/8DPO it would never detect a thing. I have no more tests left now so I'm just not going to buy any more until the weekend! Why do we do these things to ourselves?

Katbaby · 17/02/2020 15:21

Day 59 for me now, 29 days late for af 😕 tested neg on Friday, got cramps last night thought she was on her way but no signs. Blood test booked for next Thursday, was 6th March but rang to get it moved forward! Can't wait any longer. Really hope the bloods just come back pregnant but not feeling likely right now 😭

abby25 · 17/02/2020 14:40

Yea wait and see fingers crossed for you! I'm having no symptoms what so ever so think I'm out xxx

OP posts:
Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 10:49

@abby25 I really hope so.

The weird thing is I feel pregnant. I can't explain it. Maybe it's all in my head and I am just noticing symptoms more just because I am looking for them. I don't have a rational explanation. I guess next few days will tell.

abby25 · 17/02/2020 10:07

@Mc3209 test again in a few days! 11dpo might still be to early xxx

OP posts:
Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 08:47

So, I am 11DPO, 4 days until AF, and this morning BFN. Not even a whiff of a line, not even if I triple squint and look in various lighting. Done 2 tests just in case (because of course that would clarify the situation if one was positive and the other one negative...). I think I am out this month. Waiting for AF. Blargh.

First month of ttc
abby25 · 17/02/2020 08:31

I got a bit carried away last night 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 08:10

Gosh, I am clearly not a writer 😂

Mc3209 · 17/02/2020 07:58

@primrose2020 I have been before, but it was a while back, so I am looking forward to going back. A bit unsure about those protests, but apparently they are getting better now (at least metro is working etc).

I've told 2 of my close friends, one of whom has been trying for a while. Also 2 girls at work are also trying but we don't really talk about it.

abby25 · 17/02/2020 00:11

@pineapple2 ah I'm soooooo jealous I really want to go to Florida!!! (Well disney) 😂 me and OH were looking at holidays the other day and he has a set two weeks off every summer which happen to fall in school holidays so everywhere is double the price! Drives me mad he found a deal to Morocco for 1700 each all inclusive for a week... I was like that is not a deal that ridiculous 😂 I said if you want to spend nearly 2 grand each then we are going all out to Disney 😂😂 but obviously not booking anything yet I dont want to travel far if pregnant by then plus would rather save the money for when babys here maternity pay isnt great is it so been saving here and there so I'm not bored when I have a baby font want to be at home all the time I want to be shopping like going for coffee everyday with friends lol I've told my 3 best friends that we have started trying... one of them gave birth a few days ago my ovaries burst! 😂 hes so beautiful! in a way wish I didnt now as feel like every month they are going to ask if it's happened yet but felt like I needed reassurance they all have young ones! It's our first month of TTC so may have a long wait! I'm not a lucky person so convinced it's going to take us a while xxx

OP posts:
pineapple2 · 16/02/2020 22:13

@Mc3209 got to do photo frames too haha
No plans as such. Do like to book a holiday when I have annual leave but we came back from Florida in October so skint at the moment plus Christmas...so this week I'll be decluttering the house, meet up with some friends and just chill and drive myself mad with the TWW

How long has everyone been trying again?

I think if I told my friends we were TTC it would just put pressure on us..plus one of my friends did get pregnant. It wasn't a planned pregnancy and I was very happy for her but also slightly envious...but hey ho it will happen when it happens..
