Hello ladies,

Just looking for some pals who are in similar situation to me - hopefully we can support each other in this emotional journey. I'm 35, OH is 38 and we've been TTC first baby for over 12 months overall now (11 months trying). I naively thought it would be easier (emotionally and physically) than this. We sadly miscarried early in Sept so feeling even more cheated that we don't have out BFP by now. My GP has done tests which have all come back normal and have been referred to gynaecology, 1st appt in March. No idea what to expect from that Confused

Would love to hear from others in similar situations, for a bit of moral support. I'm currently 2dpo; feel I should be more than used to 2ww by now, but it doesn't seem to get any easier x

Hi @Kiza, so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm just waiting for my first appt next month. Although I really really want to conceive naturally, getting the tests done and asking for referral has helped to give me a little sense of agency as there is so much out of our control in the TTC business! My OH had low morphology 1st SA, and 2nd was much better after starting some fertility vitamins. He's also banned himself from hot baths, and regularly fashions some ice packs to keep his bits cool 😂 Did you have the HSG on your 1st appt?

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day yesterday 💞 It's hard to keep the romance sometimes when TTC, but much needed to keep us sane 😃 Me and OH went out for dinner then went and did a pretty mundane food shop without the usual rush of getting home to cook. It made me think that although we desperately want a baby, there's so many things that would be much more difficult to do if/when we have a baby, that we just take for granted now. I'm going to try to remind myself of that in my next TWW, and start enjoying the moment a little more, as who knows when it's all going to change for us 🌈☄

Hi Ladies,
Hope it's ok that I join, I'm on another thread which is fab but the fact that we're all older here helps with some of my worries!
I'm 39, DP is 36, TTC for 18 months, have had all our tests done and awaiting 2nd fertility appointment to find out the results of our tests, if all ok am NHS referral for 1 round of IVF on the NHS.
DP had low morphology on his 1st SA so 🤞🏼 it's improved on his 2nd.
Had my HSG yesterday which wasn't as bad as I'd expected but not great either!
Have had a couple of MC along the way also so just praying we conceive naturally before IVF.

So sorry to hear that @claireb707, I hope you can both take your minds off it a little tonight/over weekend and do something nice and relaxing. Not long to wait until Tuesday, and hopefully you can get more answers then 😘

So it seems the lump isn't a cyst, doc isn't sure what it is and has referred me to gynae 😢

Appointment is Tuesday. Feel bad talking to partner about this now as his gran died this morning 😢😢😢

Morgane777 · 13/02/2020 13:16

@claireb707 good luck! Grin
@Bearhug9 have you tried BBT? I did it for two cycles to make sure I was ovulating! I use the Fermometer app.
I'm in my fertile week and doing the tests as well! I should see a peak tomorrow or Saturday!
I'm hoping for good news on this thread! Smile

EB211 · 13/02/2020 09:44

@claireb707 good luck! I’m hoping that’ll be me on Friday!

Bearhug9 · 13/02/2020 08:25

Haha good luck @claireb707!
@Morgane777 @Honolulu1 I was on the pill for years but I haven't taken it for about 3 years now so that should be well out of my system now. I never got a peak reading this month or last so I wonder whether I am even ovulating. The period has stopped now though, it was very light and only lasted 2 days. I normally have very heavy painful periods so I could definitely live with that as an alternative ..

claireb707 · 13/02/2020 07:14

Cd11 and flashing smiley for me today! Wish me luck, we're going in.. 😂🤞🤞😉

Morgane777 · 12/02/2020 13:07

Hello ladies!
I'm CD7... the process begins again this week! My OH is already informed that he's got work to do today! Grin
Sorry about your irregularities @Bearhug9. Have you been on the pill before TTC?
For me, nothing new, except a lot of stress! Confused
How's everyone doing?

EB211 · 12/02/2020 11:15

Yes @honolulu cycle day buddies! AF pretty much gone, its only lasts three days nowadays and a lot lighter. I've got a doctors appointment next week so might tag on some questions about it!

I've decided to do that too. I'm going to try pre-seed this month as i think it can't hurt. Going to start testing on Friday I think.

Honolulu1 · 12/02/2020 10:57

@inahaze :) easily done sometimes!!

@Bearhug9- that's odd isn't it as you were getting flashing smilies last week. Did you get a peak in the end? So frustrating that AF can be so inconsistent from one month to the next - she's a bit of a rebel at times. Is period fully kicked in full flow or spotting? x

My period started Sunday and has been weirdly very light, (sorry if tmi - bright red then straight to brown, where I usually get a dark red full flow main stage, but that stage didn't come this time). I think its odd and obviously have been googling but non the wiser. But will be adding that to my increasingly long list of questions to ask gynaecologist when I eventually get my appointment :)

So CD4 here (same as you cycle buddy @EB211) - gearing up for another round of this crazy TTC business. Trying to keep my cool this cycle and not get too stressed with it all.

Does anyone know anything about fertility acupuncture or any other alternative therapies?

sorry I'm on the wrong thread! ARGH! embarrassing!!!

inahaze · 12/02/2020 09:27

@Bearhug9 how are you feeling? what is your cycle doing at the moment?

we've been invited on a family holiday to Efteling in the Netherlands in October half term....... I'm guessing I wouldn't want to travel / wouldn't get insured after 32 weeks, which would mean a due date of mid-December? is that right? So I can't book it yet I don't think

Bearhug9 · 12/02/2020 08:23

Morning everyone, hope you are all keeping well. So what appears to be my period started yesterday after only 15 days.....last cycle was 40. I have no idea what's going on, but feeling a bit useless Sad

Morgane777 · 10/02/2020 13:04

Congratulations @Lunit4 !!! I wish you a very healthy pregnancy!!!

EB211 · 09/02/2020 11:31

@Honolulu1 I hadn’t heard of that before, will try it! AF arrived this morning along with painful cramps ugh! Anyways, on to the next go! Going to get a thermometer too I think x

wishing3 · 08/02/2020 10:49

Congratulations, @lunit4! x

Honolulu1 · 08/02/2020 09:19

Congrats @Lunit4 what amazing news. That gives me a lot of hope 😃

Have you tried SMEP @EB211? We used that plan the month we conceived before MC. It didn't work for us the next couple of months, so went to daily in fertile week, then twice daily (which was exhausting, poor OH, haha), then around every other day last cycle. May go back to SMEP this time!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend whatever you are up to x

paintfairy · 08/02/2020 08:57

claireb707 · 08/02/2020 07:23

Adrianoska · 07/02/2020 18:44

Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉

Bearhug9 · 07/02/2020 17:09

Congratulations @lunit4. What great news x

Lunit4 · 07/02/2020 16:24

I got my BFP just two days ago! one day before my 37th birthday!

We were trying for 20 months! We had already have all the fertility tests done and we were waiting for the IVF referral.

We have an ugly combination of PCOS and low sperm count which made it very very difficult for us, but clearly not imposible.

Now just crossing all my fingers, toes and legs and waiting for everything to go well.

Adrianoska · 07/02/2020 13:40

Thank you so much @honolulu1, indeed it is a maddening process.
I just can't wait! I would do anything to get a positive results..
Anyway, I am testing my ovulation for the first time. I hope that will go. OK. X

EB211 · 07/02/2020 13:24

@Honolulu1 thats a good way of looking at it. I think I'm going to measure my temperature this month, something I haven't done before. Also make sure we BD every day. We've tried every second day before this. May as well give it a go!!
