Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in 2020!

Sorry if my last message was insensitive @BunnytheBlueWhale I'm sure nothing could be celebrated this week. You are an amazingly strong woman and your future children will be lucky to have you as a mum and role model xx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 04/02/2020 09:52

Distraction is good @BunnytheBlueWhale but I'm sorry you didn't get your bfp. Its easy to hide under a rock, just do whatever feels right for you both this weekend xx

BunnytheBlueWhale · 04/02/2020 08:50

Thanks @RR369 We’re not feeling. V celebratory for DH birthday as it’s a year this weekend since DD died so not sure we’re even going out but I’m ok and work is a good distraction

Disappointed for you @BunnytheBlueWhale I hope your DH's birthday can take your mind off things 💐

BunnytheBlueWhale · 04/02/2020 07:24

@mrsmb03 I think you should take the time that you need if you can. My situation was different as I was already on maternity leave (I had a full term loss) when I had a MC at 5 weeks. I was due to go back to work a month later and went back as normal a few weeks after MC. It’s different for everyone, depends how much it involves physically and emotionally for you, whether your job allows you to take time off. But work isn’t the most important thing. I hope you have a good employer as it makes all the difference xx

So I did a FRER just in case I have a nice surprise for DH for his birthday. Realised while I was waiting the 3 mins that I have a bit of spotting (TMI alert - just tiny bit of pink when wiping but probably AF coming) and it’s a BFN

I was a bit hopeful but never mjnd

@mrsmb03 I had a MMC at 16 weeks. Found out at 16 week scan (complicated twin pregnancy).

I had 3 months off work in total. Felt like I needed to spend some time just being me. Not worrying about school work (teacher) or anything other than me and my family.

BunnytheBlueWhale · 03/02/2020 21:48

Thanks @RR369 fingers crossed for us 🤞

It’s DH birthday tomorrow and he just said he hoped I might do a test tomorrow and surprise him

Err no pressure then

@mrsmb03 mines happened at the weekend on the sunday evening. I ended up being off work for 8 weeks in total. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Sending you a massive hug.

@tmc14 I hope this is your month hun. We also had a proper babydance about 6 days before ovulation. I thought it was too late to count too but now after reading your posts we might be in with a chance too.
Ps dont worry about the syringe too much. As long as its dried properly then you should be ok.

mrsmb03 · 03/02/2020 20:11

Can I ask please, to those who were working when you were told you were going to miscarry or when you miscarried. How long did you go off sick for? I'm unsure when I am ready to face the world but I feel pressured not to go off sick too long. This doesn't help my mental health at all worrying that I have to think about staff cover as well as the physical and emotional aspect of recovery. Would love to hear your experiences and or advice. x

RR369 · 03/02/2020 19:57

Don't lose hope @BunnytheBlueWhale spotting doesn't mean anything, apparently equally common before AF and in early pregnancy. I'm due Friday too, fingers crossed for us both 🤞

BunnytheBlueWhale · 03/02/2020 17:48

I suppose spotting now is kind of in line with AF coming on Friday. I was hopeful this month too!

OP posts:
BunnytheBlueWhale · 03/02/2020 17:30

Well actually I’m 36 next month...

OP posts:
BunnytheBlueWhale · 03/02/2020 17:30

Not sure what’s going on with me. I am spotting slightly (TMI - like a tinge of colour in CM) and have been feeling crappy for days. I’m on CD28 and usually have about 31 day cycles but Ovia has AF due Friday and I usually have awful PMT which I don’t appear to have so seems odd to have spotting first 🤷🏻‍♀️

PS I’m 36 😬

@Mumlili8 I am 36 and this is our first baby we're trying for, so I'm quite nervous 😩 do you already have kids?

Mumlili9 · 03/02/2020 13:14

@SunStruck I'm the grey area age of 38. I'm starting to wonder if my eggs are pickled

SunStruck · 03/02/2020 12:34

@Mumlili9 that's good they've tested you! How old are you if you don't mind me asking? If it's just that and nothing else it's going to be a numbers game... you will get there ☺️

BunnytheBlueWhale · 03/02/2020 12:31

Good luck with getting some answers @Mumlili9 and @SweetpeaOrMarigold

Gp has sent me for a lot of basic bloods related to other health issues, including thyroid as shes a bit worried Ive been borderline low a couple of years ago.
Now sat in a different clinic.

Mumlili9 · 03/02/2020 11:08

@SunStruck yes hun everything came back good so no reason except age I think.

Mumlili9 · 03/02/2020 09:53

@SunStruck yes hun they found nothing so far but I am waiting for a hysteroscopy so if this is another mc then hopefully they can see why

SunStruck · 03/02/2020 09:44

@Mumlili9 I hope it will turn out okay! Have you had any testing etc done (3mmc:s?)

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 03/02/2020 09:41

I think because its unexpected it doesn't help. Contractions are really painful and I would say that MC pain is as bad. It just floors you. No slow build up like labour. I'd had cramps all the way through both pregnancies and suddenly bam it felt like I had been stabbed and someone was pulling me inside out.

mrsmb03 · 03/02/2020 09:38

@SweetpeaOrMarigold yes the pain was horrendous. My DH said I fainted when it was all happening. He said I fell onto the bed and he said what are you doing? Wake up or something to that effect and I've not fainted in all my life. Do you think your Miscarriage was more painful than your actual labour?

Mumlili9 · 03/02/2020 09:30

@SunStruck thanks hun. I totally agree with a blighted ovum being the lesser of the evils, I too have had 3 mmc's, multiple cp's and I hoped this was my rainbow but now I suspect it is a blighted ovum or ectopic for sure now. Just wish it would hurry along now.
@BunnytheBlueWhale thank you for your advice too hun. I'm going to wait and see what this blood test says, ask again for a scan and if they won't I'll book a private one instead

Thanks ladies x
