Hi

I have quite long cycles ranging from 31-40 days and have been TTC since October. I just wondered how long did it take you all TC? I understand everyone is different but am curious as to how long it has taken.

TIA x

I was very fortunate and got pregnant almost immediately both times.

DC1 14 years ago wasn't tracking but fell pregnant when I wanted to so I'd say 1st or 2nd month.
DC2 (10 years later) first month
Currently 18 weeks with DC3, first month again.

First try. I was 27 and living healthily, having regular sex but not obsessing over exact days to do it! Was lying down flat for a bit after sex too. Fully aware it could've just been luck.

My friend has 2 children. First one conceived first try early thirties. Second one took 6 months late thirties.

I have another friend who took 4 years to conceive and I can't imagine how tough that must've been.

I had 26-31 day cycles, took 10 months. I didnt do ovulation sticks or temperatures etc just used an app which estimated my firtile window. Prior to this I had been on the pill the best part of 15 years.

7yrs of infertility and then it happened out of nowhere totally unexpected! Im now a firm believer that children appear when they want to

Oilnwater · 20/01/2020 21:57

First was three months, second was one month. I expected second to be longer so was extremely surprised and not as financially sorted as I'd have liked to be due to chis care costs I wanted three years between. There's no rhyme of reason it could take one year, one month or ten years.

Crazymummyto3 · 20/01/2020 21:46

DS1 - 1st month
DD1 - 1st month
DD2 - 5 months

sqirrelfriends · 20/01/2020 21:38

18 months- I think due to my irregular cycle

SpeckledyHen · 20/01/2020 21:35

DC1 2 months age 39
DC2. 1 month age 41

Angharad07 · 20/01/2020 21:29

1.1st month- ended in chemical miscarriage
2.1st month- ended in missed miscarriage
3.1st month- baby boy!

My average cycles are around 30-32 days.
Good luck, op!

My cycles are 28 days like clockwork.

Nearly two years with my oldest and on my first cycle of trying with my second. Have been waiting for a third to come along for 10 years. Have given up now.

CeibaTree · 20/01/2020 21:19

3 months
8 months
9 months
Cycle lengths are usually between 27-29 days long.

mywrencalls · 20/01/2020 21:16

I'm 37, happened straight away. My periods were only 3 weeks apart, and my actual period only lasted a day or two. Was surprised it happened so quickly.

Dollywilde · 20/01/2020 21:13

Cycles were generally 30 - 35 days, it took us 8 cycles across 10 months. Started March 2019 and got my BFP in December.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/01/2020 21:13

Cycle average 31 days.

  • first pregnancy - 1 month ended in MMC
  • second pregnancy - 5 months , now have DS1

I took pregnancy vitamins and DH took multivitamins. I tracked my BBT too as some cycles were 39 days.

Chanel05 · 20/01/2020 21:10

First pregnancy 8 months, then had a mmc. Now pregnant again after another 8 months of trying. Cycles between 30-35 days. I even had fertility testing in October and DH were found to be both at optimum fertility. It's just luck!

NewInTown08 · 20/01/2020 21:07

DD - 1 try
Second pregnancy: 1 try, ended in miscarriage
DS- 7 months (got pregnant after I used pre-seed, I recommend that lube!!)
