One step pregnancy test

Hello all,

Just coming on looking for advice really. I finish my final cycle of clomid last month and my period came 3 days early and lasted 2 1/2 days. I've been tracking O this month Unmedicated to see if I Ov on my own. We have to wait until March for IUI treatment. I had a MMC in August last year.

Anyway I did an opk the last few days and they've all been pretty much positive and I felt so emotional today at work I burst out crying. So something in me told me to take a hpt when I got home at 4.30pm today. And this was the result! Is this a positive? Anyone have false positives on these? I'm only cd20 if my last period was correct so I'm not so convinced it's accurate?

I did an Asda cheapy one an hour after this and bfn :/ I also brought a digi which I was planning on using tomorrow morning possibly. Is it even worth doing a digi?

Thanks for any advice/help!

@Kendrick12 looks positive to me! Congrats, if use a digi to confirm though as I don't 100% trust these tests x

Hi just wondering if I can jump in on this thread? Does this look like a positive test to you? I tested this Am and there was a very faint line, then I thought I'd do one tonight and it's slightly darker! :-)

@iRawra oh no, I sympathise my doctors have been rubbish before when I had the chemical I was telling them about the test and all the symptoms and I just got dismissed because there urine sample came back negative! It's so frustrating. I hope you get some answers soon!

iRawra · 23/02/2020 16:53

@Naylor19 I think if I don't get a BFP by the end of next week and no AF I will go to the doctor again. I had a locum GP appointment on Friday and they literally couldn't care less about any of it. Told them everything about ovulation being confirmed and my symptoms but no positive and all they did was a urine test. If I go again and they don't do a blood test again we will have to get a private scan done so we know what's going on as I honestly don't feel right and I've got a gut feeling. Really sucks but that's the way it is :/ my husband has put a complaint in with them for not doing bloods with the symptoms I've presented with so we will see how that goes.

Naylor19 · 23/02/2020 16:12

@iRawra sadly no, I get so confused with temping! And I get up a lot in the night so I'm not sure how accurate mine would be.. I guess it's my last month unaided so I don't need to worry to much about all of that now. (Silver linings) I hope it's a late or shy bean for you too! Try not to think the worst, will you get an ultrasound again if you don't get BFP or af soon?

OP posts:
iRawra · 23/02/2020 16:08

@Naylor19 that's awesome! Are you temping too? Then you'll know for sure that you're ovulating and not just having LH surges. I'm hoping for a late implanter and not something wrong like ectopic or MC etc

Naylor19 · 23/02/2020 15:56

@iRawra that's so frustrating! Maybe it could be a late implanter? Fingers crossed for you! I just got my first positive opk Unmedicated, so I'm hoping I actually release an egg! Would be so nice to find out we're pregnant before starting IUI... here's dreaming! x

OP posts:
iRawra · 23/02/2020 15:47

@Naylor19 it is isn't it? And it will be. I'm currently 20DPO (confirmed ovulation via ultrasound scans) and still BFN. No clue what's going on and it's really getting to me :/

Naylor19 · 23/02/2020 15:37

@iRawra Thankyou lovely, it's such a long journey hoping it will all be worth it in the end x

@Naylor19 sorry for your loss :(

Naylor19 · 23/02/2020 15:21

Just thought I'd update, doctor thinks it was a chemical pregnancy before so still ttc. Only 3 and a half weeks until our first IUI appointment x

@Trying2b thanks lovely, if I get my BFP before I'll update the thread. It definitely helps to have a date to focus on now xxx

Trying2b · 25/01/2020 09:56

Good news about your letter, it's helpful to have a date to focus on and fingers crossed something happens in the mean time! Sending lots of baby dust your way, sounds like you deserve a break xxx

Naylor19 · 25/01/2020 09:51

@Trying2b still very faint lines, the doctor said it would be too early to be testing still but just feels odd! Part of me feels like maybe I've had dud tests the other part is noticing symptoms galore! My period is due between Monday-Wednesday next week so may hold off see what happens. On the plus side I got my letter for IUI treatment to start on the 19th March and the doctor also suggested some counselling for me and hubby to help manage the stress of infertility xx

Trying2b · 25/01/2020 09:43

@Naylor19 any update?? I'm really hoping you've got a clearer BFP positive today x

Naylor19 · 24/01/2020 14:40

@sugarsnapwee thanks lovely I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Be so nice not to have to go through IUI then IVF! I'll keep it updated soon as I know one way or another xx

sugarsnapwee · 24/01/2020 14:36

I feel optimistic for you - I got my BFP using a one-step at 9dpo. It looked exactly like your latest one and my husband didn't believe it but I knew it was positive as I'd taken so many previously that were negative and I'd never seen a hint of a line on them. Good luck x

Naylor19 · 24/01/2020 14:30

@Mycrazylife85 oh no that's devastating!! I don't think these companies realise how heartbreaking those kind of mistakes can be. I've done an ovulation one they've been positive last 5 days so not really sure what's going on!

OP posts:
Mycrazylife85 · 24/01/2020 13:16

I hope this works out for you. Unfortunately for me I got one positive pregnancy test on an internet cheaply and then on closer inspection, whilst the colour of it was correct (blue strip), it was actually a LH ovulation test that had found its way into the packaging at the factory. It's the closest I got to a positive. That being said I can see a faint line in your second one so fingers crossed for you!!!

Naylor19 · 24/01/2020 13:00

@Trying2b I think the digi was a 5 days before period one and the other was from day of period.. I've got a docs appointment later today hoping they'll offer a blood test to see what's going on! If not I'll get a first response xx

OP posts:
Trying2b · 24/01/2020 09:07

@Naylor19 arggh what a mind f**k!! I'd say that's a positive but it's weird you got a bfn on the digi and Asda test. Were they both early ones or from the first day of missed period?? Those one step tests are meant to be early tests but I've always found the first response ones to be the best. Try one of those tomorrow morning if you can?? Fingers crossed xx

Naylor19 · 24/01/2020 07:25

Also I know how crazy I sound, and that no one can tell if I'm really pregnant or not. I guess it just passes the weeks until my IUI treatment obsessing over tests like a fool BlushHmm

Just updating once again, still been feeling odd. Stomach cramps, enlarged areola and fuller breasts. Also developed a sore throat yesterday (probably not related) so I tested again this morning after ordering more one step tests online and this was the result.. so confused! I'm still 7 days away from my period according to Flo.. I'm assuming the first BFP was a dye run hence the darkness? Or are these tests just rubbish and this is an evap?

@Canadianpancake thanks lovely, I know it's awful. I think because we've been trying for so long and I got pregnant on the second month of clomid but mmc at 12 weeks I almost feel like it's never going to happen again.. I guess I'll just have to wait for our IUI treatment in March and keep trying to remain positive in the meantime. Such a long tiring journey x

@Naylor19 I'm so sorry Flowers it really is heartbreaking isn't it. I hate this rollercoaster.
