ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

oh KD, just explain it to her. losing a baby is awful and i dont think you can understand unless you have been thru it. you havent just lost that baby but you have lost a potenitial life. the feeds, the cuddles, the first smile/word/step, picking a nursery/school/college/uni, their wedding, their first child. those are all thhings that you have been mourning and she must try to understand that

lissielou · 30/08/2007 18:08

tbh even on my ttc break it was still all i thought about. i still have to test after every period and we had that brief scary blood test when i was poorly. however this last mc has really messed me up. the last 2 periods have been v odd and nasty. cue much panic from lissie, mr lissie and lissie's doc

Hi,

Had m/c earlier this month and can't face seeing friend who is heavily pregnant. I know she has been critical of the way I handled my grief (shut the door & turned off the phone).

She doesn't understand what a terrible time I/we have all had and says that I should be more considerate as she hormonal .

Has anyone else had similar problems, she is a dear friend but now I doen't know how to face her as I know she is angry at me for not replying to phone call immediately after the event and I am angry at her for judging me .... grrr

All advice welcome........

Hi Tjuice - i think getting the all clear physically also helps with the emotional side of things. Bleeding from the D&C really reminded me of the miscarriage and i also kept worrying that there might be a complication from the operation. So yes - although sad - it has made me feel 100 times better.

Lcy · 30/08/2007 18:00

Sorry your feeling sad Going43 - i think it is perfectly natural to feel like that and tommorow will hopefully be a better day. It is so difficult to not get bothered about TTC - because we all really want babies.

MsG · 30/08/2007 17:54

Hi all.

Goingfor3, sorry you are feeling so miserable today. I feel the same. I just passed 3 pregnant women in a row in a really short distance from the tube. I couldn't believe it!

Also, the other day I was on a bus and saw a girl who had been to the same information session at the hospital with me and she was chatting to her friend on her phone about how far on she is and how the baby is fine. It was quite upsetting, although obviously I'm pleased for her.

I bought an ovulation kit yesterday - Superdrug's own brand had a deal where you buy one and get one free so I got that - 10 sticks. As my AF was later than expected this month I don't want to leave it to chance again. I wish I hadn't waited for my first AF to start trying again now. I would have been due in January and it's going to be so difficult if I'm not pregnant again by then.

Lcy, glad you had your scan. I felt better after my final one. Have a great night tonight! Sounds like fun.

TJuice · 30/08/2007 17:49

oh nooo. So sorry to see you here WMMC . . .
I hope you are getting the comfort and space you need right now . . .
I was lucky and stopped bleeding almost immediately afterwards so started b/d one week later. no ttc but just getting back to normal.

lcy, glad everything went well today. i felt quite good after getting the all clear.
i mean, its really sad, but i feel like can move on from the physical trauma of the whole m/c thing.

goingfor3 · 30/08/2007 17:38

Hello ladies,

I'm feeling so miserable today. On one hand I feel desperate to get pregnant again and I am putting myself under alot of pressure, I'm already getting stressed about the thought of not having sex on the right days and I'm only cd5! On the other hand I know it's too soon and the thought of having a cervical suture so soon after the last one makes me feel very sad as I should still be pregnant. I'm sure it's normal to have mixed feelings like this but it doesn't make it any easier.

lissielou · 30/08/2007 17:31

the same thing happened on my old due in oct thread. with each pg i tell myself not join any thread til i reach at least 9w but can never resist (no willpower at all) ds is an april baby so will be nice to have a few months between them. (lissie wonders why she's still optimistic)

sweetkitty · 30/08/2007 17:15

lissielou - doesn't take much to confuse me

Lcy - the scan is like a bit of closure isn't it? I had a bit of a clot left and it came away the next day so everything has stopped now.

WMMC - yes it is strange theres been so many mcs from that thread can't remember any from my last 2 antenatal threads. I said the exact same thing with mine it wasn't meant to be and the DDs keep me going. Most of the time I'm fine but now and again I get down and a bit angry with the world.

Due in July sounds good to me I was so keen to have a March baby but now I would have one born anytime even Christmas Day. DD1 is a July baby she was meant to be August but had other ideas.

lissielou · 30/08/2007 17:01

oh lcy, you must be so relieved. after all of my mc's we carried on ttc but your body will be messed up for quite a while tho.

girls night in sounds fab tho.

Lcy · 30/08/2007 16:53

Hello all

I have just got back from the hospital - had a scan to check D&C was complete. It was all fine and hardly any blood left.

Like you sweetkitty and WMMC i am not waiting till period but not going to go into crazy TTC mode - using contraception would be so wierd now. However, i totally understand that some people wouldnt want to do this NH101 - it is such a personal decision.

LissieLou sorry to hear about the CP - what a scary night for you. Hope DS is ok now - probably very itchy!

Hi Ladylush how are you today

I am going to a friends house for a girls only night - we are going to eat mexican, drink wine, eat chocolate in large quantities and then watch sex and the city while putting the world to rights. Cant wait

lissielou · 30/08/2007 16:42

sorry for confusing you sweetkitty. i was lissielou a while back then bought lissie in the nickname auction, just feel that lissielou suits me better. agree that there are too many women from the march thread, but hopefully we'll all be on the same antenatal thread again soon! im aiming for due in july

poor ds has no voice at all and the first 2 spots have appeared.

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 15:07

Well, I'm back from the shopping run and have bought myself some treats to go with the wine. I have also arranged to go out for cake with a mate tomorrow - not really concerned with the size of my hips right now.

Hi Sweetkitty - yes, there are far too many of us from the March thread on this thread now. Dh and I are just trying to be philosophical. We know that it was nothing that I/we did or didn't do. It just wasn't meant to be. We're also getting great comfort from our ds. He's far too young to know what's been going on, but just the fact that he's here and healthy and fine is healing in itself.

sweetkitty · 30/08/2007 14:23

just gives me a stonking hangover I'm such a lughtweight these days

ladylush · 30/08/2007 14:09

im sure there's a few lushes about too and on that note I totally agree with everyone who extolled the virtues of wine post m/c. Helps inordinately.

sweetkitty · 30/08/2007 14:07

right thanks ladylush it's confusing with all the similar names (think theres about 3 other "kitty's too)

ladylush · 30/08/2007 14:03

Its the same lissie sweetkitty.

How is ds today lissie?

sweetkitty · 30/08/2007 14:00

sorry am I being a bit thick lissielou are you different from lissie who also recently had a mc?

sweetkitty · 30/08/2007 13:59

winemakesmummyclever - sorry I didn't realise you had had a mc, you were on the Due in March 2008 thread too, theres far too many of us from that thread had mcs

nh101 - my mc was 2 1/2 weeks ago bleeding stopped a few days ago, baby was 6 weeks had mc at 10 weeks. I wouldn't say we are actively ttc just having unprotected sex if that makes sense? I fully expect AF to turn up this month.

lissielou - sorry to head about your DS's CP hope he feels better soon, how scary for you too

ladylush · 30/08/2007 13:52

Lissie - sorry ds is ill but at least you can relax a little if it's chicken pox.You must have been terrified

ladylush · 30/08/2007 13:51

Welcome back lissie

WMMC - similar story here as pregnancy was 12 weeks but baby measured only 8 weeks. I had this problem before with a previous m/c - baby measuring 3 weeks smaller.

nh101 · 30/08/2007 13:46

Hi Lissie, good to have you back - hope you are feeling better for your break.

lissielou · 30/08/2007 12:21

well what a night! ds was really poorly last night and woke up struggling to breathe and v wheezy, called 999 and ended up in A&E. never been so scared in my life! today, out come the spots (i think) so looks like it is CP. decided tho to NATTC (not avoid ttc) and just see what happens this month and start properly in oct when we see the consultant, so im back on the ttc boards!

nh101 · 30/08/2007 12:15

And defnitely drink lots of wine!!!!
