ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 11:29

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

Cool count me in. Try to eat the cake rather than throw it I'm sure you will all get on just fine

torres · 31/08/2007 14:42

Hi ladylush- there's been talk of one nearer christmas so that would be great to meet you. Unless of course we end up hating each other this evening !!

ladylush · 31/08/2007 13:56

Kensgirl you are truly lovely - you remind me of Mrs McJnr with your positive outlook and smiley faces Glad you had a good holiday and that it gave you a chance to sort out your emotions - the Caribbean is divine isn't it. My dh is Caribbean but ironically we haven't been to his country his parents are from, only to other islands. We will go one day for sure.

All cakefesters - have a lovely day. If you organise one later on in the year I will come too.

Lissie - how is ds?

torres · 31/08/2007 13:20

Hi Kensgirl- good to hear from you- how was the hols- was the pg girlfriend bearable? I don't think your promise to yourself sounds weird at all. It sounds really positive, acknowledging what has happenned but stepping aside from using all your energy on focussing on your grief and pain. I really hope this is the start of something good for you. And I truly think you do deserve a whole gateaux!

Hi zammummy- very impressed by the home baking! As you say, I really hope 2008 is the year for us all.

herby- I'm sure we will all still be there at 7. I'll probably only have just decided which cakes I'm having by then!

Lissie- hi love! good to see you're around. Sorry you won't be at the cakefest, it would be good to meet you.

Ok all cake-festers I have to warn you- I have just tucked into my lunch without really thinking and have just realised I've eaten ALOT of garlic!!! I hope you'll still let me sit on the same table!

kensgirl · 31/08/2007 12:30

Just to say have a geat time later today ladies! I'm very that I can't be there- hopefully you will all come and spill the beans though . So - whos going to eat my very large share of cake then?

I'm sitting here all on my lonesome, as dh is in Budapest, and I think I may be ov-ing, so hopefully there may be still some swimmers waiting to ambush - sory if tmi....
I think thats cause to sit and scoff a family sized festival gateaux by myself. In honour of the cake fest, of course.

Jules, I know what you mean about appreciating your dh more and feeling lucky. Hopefully that closeness will get the chemicals and hormones just so...

Hi to Ladylush, Torres, Wheely, Lissie et al. How are you all?

Popsy - if you are lurking, sorry to see you feel you need some time way, maybe it will be good to clear your head. I'll mis you though, don't stay away too long, and do make sure you come and tell us when you get that bfp! I have felt a bit similar, and made a decision to move forward taking some things with me, and leaving the others behind. I made this weird promise to myself while standing in th sea on hols with dh, that I was so lucky to have myhealth, family, dh, home, and future, that I was going to put all the negative thoughts and pain about my dads death, miscarriage an molar preg. in a wooden box, and leave it right there in the Carribean sea. I know where it is, put there is no need now for me to keep delving in. The good things and happy memories are all coming forward with me.

Hope this doesn't just make me sound wierd . It isn't something I have even told dh!

Special hello to anyone I havn't yet'chatted' with, a big hug if you are in need of one if you have just arrived and are feeling very raw xx

ZamMummy · 31/08/2007 12:01

Hello lovely ladies!
Just to let you know I am having a virtual cake-fest with you - in fact am baking it right now, my mother's Christmas cake recipe!
Sending you all lots of love and Zambian sunshine xx
(will next be in UK in Jan/Feb - here's hoping we can compare bumps by then )

herbaceous · 31/08/2007 10:51

I've got to be at work (in Battersea), until about 6, and then have to go and buy something to wear at a wedding tomorrow. This could be quite quick! So if anyone's still there after 7 or so, I'll see them then!

Hello. My wife is in bed with a migraine, but insisted I let you know that she won't be there today. Something to do with a cake. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

alittlebitshy · 31/08/2007 09:38

Right - today's meet! Is it happening? I'm all set to get there anytime after 3, but happy for it to be any time, and for it to blend into a post work meet too.

Thanks for the words of support from all of you guys. We're not anywhere near the ttc stage just yet. We've got a couple of breaks away coming up (one without ds - gulp), so I think we'll use that time to heal and recharge.

Lcy -I'm glad that your scan went as well as could be hoped.

KD - your friend is being more than a little insensitive. You must grieve in whatever way feels right to you, otherwise you will not begin to move forward when the time is right. Lissielou is right - we have all lost a future, it's not just a here and now loss. Hopefully, your friend will come to understand how you are feeling/coping in time.

alittlebitshy · 30/08/2007 18:50

so - what is happening tomorrow???

goingfor3 · 30/08/2007 18:26

MsG - I was also due in Jan and would like to be pregnant then. Fingers corssed for all of us.

KD73 - It really does sound like you friend could have handled thaings better and everything is much worse when you are hormonal, I really hope you can get your friendship back on track.

Lcy - good to hear everything went well at the scan.
