If you're addicted to POAS and symptom spotting then join the club!

I'm currently 2DPO after a terrible flu virus caused late ovulation. I'm
Not holding out too much hope as ovulation was about a week late so my luteal phase may prove too short or maybe my LH surge was detected on OPK but I'm too sick this month to actually ovulate. Not much sex this month either. However I'm a crazy person in the 2ww so looking for like minded POAS addicts to join the ride!!

Okay thanks! I will be panicked until I at least get a flashing!!

Do you do anything different in two week wait? I hear eating pineapple etc is good I tried that last month.. x

AliSxo · 07/02/2020 19:55

@AnxiousAnnie86 yes I had 3 days of flashing smiley before the static... use OPKS alongside them, fingers crossed for us all this month xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 07/02/2020 12:30

@AliSxo and you get to try again quicker!! No I haven't yet I'm on cd11 I got it wrong, I'm worried it's going to be a long wait, this month was first period in 3 months I can't face another three month wait waiting to ovulate again, in really hoping it will be regular, have you used the digital? My app says I'm due ovulation in 7 days x

AliSxo · 07/02/2020 12:08

@AnxiousAnnie86 have you had a flashing smiley yet with the CB? Agreed, I was really annoyed when AF arrived but actually it took the sting out of testing with bfns!! Hopefully we get our bfps this month! Xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 07/02/2020 06:24

@AliSxo hey! At least you didn't have the long wait!! Fingers crossed for you!!!! I'm CD12 so got the joys of trying to predict OV Am using clear blue digital this month x

AliSxo · 06/02/2020 20:25

Hey all!! I'm back to 1DPO as off tomorrow! Last cycle was really strange as I ovulated CD12 when it's normally CD15 when I came on AF at 9DPO it really threw me......... but at least it saved me some tests!! Xx

charlesthekudu · 30/01/2020 13:00

So sorry to hear that @TTCfirstbaby maybe (you are more than welcome here!!) start a thread for women who've experienced blighted ovum's? I think it will attract more attention

AnxiousAnnie, the limbo is over and glad to hear that this AF means you're more settled in your monthly cycles!

Best of luck everyone, enjoy the brief respite and headspace that AF invariably brings and may everyone have a peaceful and lucky month! Here's to November babies :))

@TTCfirstbaby I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. It's so hard when absolute joy can turn to such grief in a short space of time. I've never had a MC but have had a few CP (nothing alike in terms of what you went through) but it all serves as a reminder that the TTC part is just one of many hurdles to get over. I'm pretty sure that one MC doesn't automatically mean it will happen again! You fell pregnant without any problems first time, so fingers crossed it happens again for you quickly and you have a healthy pregnancy xx

TTCfirstbaby · 29/01/2020 10:54

Hi everyone

I'm new to this, but since going through a recent miscarriage I've found myself checking these forums about 10 times a day for some advice or reassurance so I thought I would post my own experience Smile.

Me and DH found out we were PG just before Christmas 19. We got lucky the first time and were beyond excited. I had some symptoms (sore breasts etc) but generally felt fine. However, the symptoms suddenly stopped one day, practically overnight around 6 weeks. I tried not to think too much into it and DH and midwife both tried to reassure me that this was normal but it just didn't feel right.

My anxiety was through the roof and I just wanted to know everything was ok so we booked a private scan on 7 weeks 3 days. It was at this scan I saw a big empty sac with no baby, they asked me to come back in 2 weeks for another scan but I rang the EPU and was booked in the next day for an internal scan. This also confirmed a blighted ovum. I was given leaflets about the different ways to miscarry and went home to decide. 1 week later and still no signs of me miscarrying naturally I went for the medical management. Another scan before i was given the medication showed the sac was actually still growing so my body had no idea the pregnancy wasn't viable.

The worst week of my life followed and I passed the gestational sac. Since then I have stopped bleeding and my pregnancy test is nearly negative (faint second line) I am desperate to TTC and I feel the only way I can move on is knowing I am pregnant with a healthy baby.

DH is happy to try again and we have started but I have a few worries. What are the chances of a second blighted ovum? I don't think I could handle another miscarriage. I haven't had AF yet but I have read a few posts that you don't necessarily need to wait for this before you TTC again? I'm only 27 with no medical issues so I'm hoping next time I will have my rainbow baby.

I guess I'm just looking to hear from ladies with similar experiences and how you managed to move on, and if you have had successful pregnancies since? These forums are extremely helpful and I think I have learnt more doing my own research on here than from speaking to the hospital, so thankyou in advance!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 29/01/2020 10:53

It was AF.... I'm actually really happy about this! After no periods since October MC I think it's exactly what my body needs and I'm excited to now know where I am in my cycle and try again! Xxx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 28/01/2020 16:09

@charlesthekudu yeah I didn't do it this morning as really though AF was going to come full force but all day and just the tiniest bit of brown cm... I am having backache and slight cramps though... it could be a weird period as I haven't had one since my MC at end of Oct, and only ovulated again for the first time this month, I did do a test Sunday afternoon which would be 11/12 dpo, I would of thought if I was pregnant it would of showed by then xx

charlesthekudu · 28/01/2020 16:03

Oh Annie it sounds promising to me!! Have you got a FRER?!?

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 28/01/2020 15:38

I don't know what's happening! I'm 14dpo today and I have had the tiniest bit of spotting and cramps since yest, more brown cm no red at all, my boobs are so so sore still :( I didn't take a test this morn as I was sure AF Was coming but nothing yet! I don't normally spot before but isn't 13dpo too late to hope this is implantation?!!?

charlesthekudu · 28/01/2020 14:55

Thanks for the well wishes!! I'm comfortable with what happened this month and have loved seeing success stories, any more to come?!

But I will be spending this cycle being more mindful and less obsessive and I think less time on here will help :))

See you all on pregnancy boards soon!!

I'm officially out this month now! Congratulations to all the BFPs ladies 😁 and I will see some of you crazy poas bunch next month no doubt! 🙌🏻

AnxiousAnnie86 · 27/01/2020 19:40

@charlesthekudu I wish you loads of luck and happiness! Fingers crossed for next month xxxxx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 27/01/2020 11:33

@charlesthekudu I'm sorry to hear that, but at least I think you have a good plan ahead. Take care and hope we meet again soon on the pregnancy boards xx

charlesthekudu · 27/01/2020 11:12

BFN followed shortly by AF. Ladies it's been a blast. Thanks for irrationally POAS as early as 4DPO with me. As dramatic as it sounds I think I'm bidding farewell as I think me being active on multiple threads (including starting two of my own for the TWW) hasn't necessarily been good for my mental health and I've been actually obsessive!!

So from next week when AF finishes I will be following the SMEP plan, keeping healthy, using preseed, digital OPKs and then as per SMEP not testing until 15 days post my positive OPK, enjoying the DTD and keeping a bit more perspective during the TWW... best of luck for this still in the race I will keep my eyes out the next few days before dipping out and laying low

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 27/01/2020 10:39

My frers are still bfns. Think AF would be due Wed or Thu so will try to leave it til then. When I was pregnant in December I had a neg frer 24th and positive 25th. Keep those fingers crossed Flowers

SS123456 · 26/01/2020 16:26

So I thought AF had arrived yesterday after having a half decent amount of red bleeding but today at 13dpo I am back to a small bit of brown blood so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Katnissx · 26/01/2020 09:38

@charlesthekudu tested with an IC this morning just incase but BFN. Keep hearing pregnancy announcements recently, it feels like everyone around me is pregnant at the moment. It's so hard 🙁
Good luck- you're not out until AF shows!

@bluemoon2468 wow I knew Onestep were rubbish but didn't realise they were THAT rubbish 🤦‍♀️

charlesthekudu · 26/01/2020 09:09

The only things keeping me bagulay vaguely hopeful is the fact AF isn't here yet. Until she shows I will do a FRER every morning (I'm going to be poor but I truly don't trust the internet cheapies - they tricked me last pregnancy and never really got a strong line on them!)

OP posts:
charlesthekudu · 26/01/2020 09:08

13 days since my solid smiley on clear blue digital OPK and another stark white BFN on a FRER. I'm now on cycle day 38 so period is definitely later than usual. But I know inovulated a whole week later due to flu. So whilst it's late I don't think it's late due to pregnancy rather late due to a late ovulation.

I'm feeling really flat :(

OP posts:
kkr168 · 26/01/2020 07:40

Wow that one step test really doesn't show anything! I'm going to order some frer & test again at 12dpo

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/01/2020 07:36

@bluemoon2468 I honestly can't believe how faint that line is on one step!
