TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@StephyRose def get checked out at EPU. hopefully as the ladies said it’s the 2nd sac and the other is still going ok. xx

@AlviesMam that’s a great looking positive! Congrats!!

Annie0425 · 28/02/2020 08:00

That’s a great line @AlviesMam... did you test using frer too to see the line progression? It’s a good dark line..so 🤞 and Congratulations!
@StephyRose don’t lose hope yet. It could be nothing or as Anny said, it could be just the one sac that didn’t develop... I am hopeful for you this time. But for your peace of mind, if the bleeding doesn’t stop, go to EPU and get it checked. Good luck and hope it turns out to be nothing
AF got me this morning...so I am out... I can focus on my holiday now! Because of my dates, I will probably not test in March at all...but will join the March thread anyways. How are you @Anny27? How many dpo are you now?
@BS9790 try an online due date calculator. You can change the length of the cycle and it gives you an indication of EDD and how far along you are based on that.

FireflyGirl · 28/02/2020 07:41

@StephyRose big hugs for you this morning. I agree with Anny27, it could be losing the second sac. Are you going to call the EPU again?

@AlviesMam that is definitely good news, a good strong line. Congratulations Flowers

Anny27 · 28/02/2020 06:15

@StephyRose 💗💗💗💗💗 awh lovely! When is your next appointment? even it it is heavy, theres every possibility that that one bean is still in there and the 2and sac didnt develop so it's being lost.

@AlviesMam great news :D

AlviesMam · 28/02/2020 06:07

Guys I've retested.... I have a strong positive this morning !!

Is this good news?

Xx

StephyRose · 28/02/2020 04:40

I've woken up and gone to the toilet. There was blood in my urine and I was bleeding quite heavy.

It's not meant for me this baby business.

Ibaadsmummy · 27/02/2020 22:46

@stephyrose try not to stress hun I know it's hard and take one day at a time it's all we can do once we have conceived its completely out of hands I realised. Xxxx we r all here for you x

StephyRose · 27/02/2020 21:31

Oh girls ... just when I think it's gone, I have some more bleeding.

Will take a pregnancy test in the morning and hope for a nice strong dark line.

I cant see this having a happy ending. 😩😩

BS9790 · 27/02/2020 20:59

How do you all work your dates out?
If I count back to last AF then I'd be 5 weeks and 1 day, but I have a slightly longer cycle (31/32 days) so using that info I think I'm actually less?! How does it work Confused

Fizzl · 27/02/2020 20:43

@StephyRose that is really exciting news! Would be a lovely happy ending for you if it was twins! Somebody I recently spoke with was currently pregnant with twins after an ERPC not too long before - she told me to be careful! 😂

I don't blame you for wanting to stick around a little longer. You're welcome to stay here as long as you want - we're all rooting for you and everyone else who has bfp's! I can't believe how many there are now on this thread. Definitely giving me positive vibes and making me more excited to try again!

FireflyGirl · 27/02/2020 20:33

@BS9790 according to 'What to Expect When You're Expecting', normal hcg levels at 5 weeks are 19 to 7,340 (yep, I have typed those correctly) so 1600 is well within the normal range Flowers There's not much to see at 5+4 - the heartbeat doesn't usually start until 6 weeks - although they might be able to see a sac and fetal pole.

@Ibaadsmummy ❤️❤️

Thanks @StephyRose. I would feel compelled to have some sort of firework/rebellion themed name Grin

StephyRose · 27/02/2020 19:44

@Ibaadsmummy 💗💗

StephyRose · 27/02/2020 19:43

Thanks everyone. 💐

I'm being cautiously optimistic until the next scan ... just feels like a lifetime away. 😩 I would love twins though. I've realised being pregnant is not for me so if I could just do it the once that is A.OK for me 🤣🤣

@FireflyGirl you are right and hopefully it is just an after effect of that. Either way I cant keep flying to the hospital everytime I have light bleeding as this could be a loooong 8 months 🤣 the 5th November is my Mums birthday. What a lovely date xx

@BS9790 holding your hand sweetheart but it would be anything. I read a post online the other day where a girl had such bad cramps until 6 weeks she had to take painkillers everyday 🤞 fingers crossed for you. Dont be worried if they can only see a sac without a yolk as it can take up to six weeks for the yolk to develop 💗

Ibaadsmummy · 27/02/2020 19:12

I totally get not wanting to post elsewhere yet I'm probably 4 weeks so pretending it's not happening incase it's a chemical or bad news will wait another 2 weeks for AF. Best wishes for the scan on Saturday xxx

BS9790 · 27/02/2020 17:56

I've been having quite bad cramps and pains, was seen in EPU yesterday where my blood hcg was taken, my levels were 1600 at 5 weeks exactly. Not sure if this is good or not, but apparently high enough for a scan so I'm booked in for an early scan at 5 weeks and 4 days on Sunday as they want to rule out ectopic Sad
Glad to see that your scan at 5week4days showed a sac/yolk @StephyRose... I'm terrified that they will say they can't see anything as it's so early, but this would just make me panic!!

FireflyGirl · 27/02/2020 16:09

@StephyRose I have everything crossed for you. Scan results sound very positive!

Every time I've had spotting, it's been made worse by having an internal scan and I was told that was normal - sometimes it can be 'pooled' and then dislodged during the scan.

I know what you mean about not wanting to post on an actual pregnancy thread yet. My EDD is 5 November (short cycles), and I started a post but chickened out.

Thanks for the support everyone, it's much appreciated. And thanks for the link to the other thread @Anny27 Flowers

Whiffle77 · 27/02/2020 16:08

Ahhh @stephyrose that all sounds positive! And how exciting, twins! Keeping everything crossed for you.

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/02/2020 15:04

@StephyRose that sounds good!
Yolk sac and second sac is also good 👍🏻
Congrats !!!

Anny27 · 27/02/2020 14:04

Omg twins!!!!! @stephyrose hopefully the 2and embryo grows that's so exciting!

Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy and I am glad you had some early reassurance.

Hopefully the spotting stops and everything starts progressing well

StephyRose · 27/02/2020 13:59

Hi everyone,

I don't want to move other to a pregnancy thread yet as I feel like I'm tempting fate ... I know that sounds ridiculous. I stupidly posted in a Late October Babies thread on the PG board and feel silly for doing so.

Update:
Tuesday night had some bright pink spotting which scared the bejesus out of me. Managed to keep calm and went to my EPU yesterday morning who were amazing. They did a PG test which was positive and then a transvaginal scan.

I am 5 weeks and 4 days today so they could see a gestational sac and yolk (which is consistent with dates) and a second gestational sac ..... ! 😱 the sonographer said only time will tell if it develops into a second embryo but they have booked me in for another scan on the 09/03 so about ten days away.

Woke up today, felt fine, no more spotting. Went into work ... spotting. Went back to the EPU, they did a blood test and I'm going to have another one on Saturday just to ensure my HCG is rising. I feel fine otherwise but I am my own worst enemy and worry myself into oblivion.

I just feel so frustrated I can't ever seem to have a stress free go at this. I know this sounds really, really, really, REALLY obvious but I really dont want to miscarry again. 😓

The doctor today did say maybe the scan irritated my cervix.

Just want it to be the 9th already. Everyone please keep everything crossed for me. I just want to be a Mum. 😪

Whiffle77 · 27/02/2020 10:38

Dont feel bad @FireflyGirl we all understand!

Brown spotting is usually fine. It's just hard for all of us to remember that! If you are concerned then try and see your doctor, the trouble is they cant do very much at this point in time.

It will take some time to get your cycle back to normal @gizmo167 but I know it's hard to be patient.

gizmo167 · 27/02/2020 10:25

Hi, I really hope all works out for you both @FireflyGirl and @AlviesMam, sticky dust for you both!!!

I'm CD31 today and still no signs of AF, first month after the mc and I dont have a clue whats going on, I dont have any sore boobs at all which I ALWAYS have pre AF, have had some AF type cramping and expected AF to come but now starting to wonder if I didnt ovulate at all :(

Anny27 · 27/02/2020 10:12

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3798635-Catching-up-with-TTC-after-MC-thread-January-2020?pg=6

There is a thread for those who were on the january board! So either set up a Feb one or join theirs (BS9790 has :D)

Michette · 27/02/2020 10:02

@FireflyGirl don’t feel bad!

I mean my experience in pregnancy isn’t the most extensive and the only two times didnt go pst 7 weeks so my advice won’t be the most helpful but i can say that many doctors told me that spotting is normal even bleeding heavily can happen and baby will be fine!
I have seen it myself in hospital each time. The bleeding isn’t always a bad news!

But i understand how worrying it might be, i would also go mad with worries if it happened again :/

Why dont you set up a group on the pregnancy thread for the BFP?

I saw a post from @StephyRose who had similar concerns... how are you getting on btw? Has the spotting settled ?

Good luck guys xxx

FireflyGirl · 27/02/2020 08:00

It's gone a bit quiet on here - has everyone moved over to the new thread?

Have you tried testing again, @AlviesMam? Are the lines any darker?

My lines are getting darker, but I've had some brown discharge which I had with the MMC last year, so that's made me feel quite sad this morning.

Is there a follow on thread from this one for people with a bfp? I can't seem to find it, and feel bad talking about my worries on the TTC thread.
