Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

Hi all, newbie here. Sorry we all find ourselves here 😔

I miscarried in November and have had a long recovery period. I didn't stop bleeding for two months and in the end resorted to going on the pill to stop it. I'm now having my breakthrough bleed and am just hoping the bleeding stops so I can start trying again asap!!

RR369 · 02/02/2020 17:56

@SweetpeaOrMarigold so sorry you are going through this, it's just not fair. Hope you have lots of support to help you 💐
@Sparkl I'm temping but using the Ava bracelet so the time doesn't matter. Don't think it would work for me otherwise

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 02/02/2020 17:14

AF has arrived finally, had all the symptoms and shes late. Had such bad cramps last night I almost went to a+e, was exactly like my MC last month. So I am presuming I was pregnant again and lost it again. So thats 2 early MC in 2 months.
Going to GP tomorrow.

ChelleF123 · 02/02/2020 12:38

Thank you @Anny27 💕
I thought I had my body figured out and turns out I know absolutely nothing. Throwing myself a serious pity party today.

I do hope this is our month xxx

Skeena77 · 02/02/2020 12:21

I just found this thread and have not read all of the messages yet, but my husband and I are ttc too. We had a little girl in Jan 2019, then in Oct 2019 I had to get fibroids removed and the doctor said we could start trying to conceive in January 2020, but we started earlier in Dec 2019 and i had a chemical pregnancy, then in Jan 2020 another chemical pregnancy, so I just got my period and am feeling really terrible. I am 42 years old and I know very lucky to already have a healthy little girl, but I almost feel more pressure this time round because I really want our daughter to have a sibling who she can share her life wife, maybe especially because I am an "older" mum, and I want them to be able to have each other. My Hashimoto's is also worse since the last pregnancy, so I am just feeling really defeated and wanted to know if anyone has similar experiences or thoughts. It's my first time on Mumsnet, so hope this all works. Sending love to all of you!

Anny27 · 02/02/2020 12:08

@ChelleF123 welcome lovely 💗 I felt the same this month , literally was convinced I was pregnant but then AF arrived!

I am ttc#1 as well and had a MMC in Novemver so had 2 cycles since then but only one of them we were trying.

Let's hope Feb is our month!

ChelleF123 · 02/02/2020 11:31

Hi ladies. Can I please join you?
I’m 37 and TTC#1 for a year. I had a natural miscarriage at 6 weeks in September.

I found this thread whilst sitting in tears as AF has just got me.
I was convinced this was my month. For the last week I have felt exactly the same this month as I did when I was pregnant. Sore/swollen/stinging boobs. Nauseous. Exact same cramping that I presumed was implantation again.
But it was just my body playing the cruelest of tricks on me.

Anny27 · 02/02/2020 10:41

@sparkl I am temping, I got quite stressed with it last month as I was not sleeping well, but this month seems to be working ok

Cd8 for me today

Sparkl · 02/02/2020 10:25

@Sully84 I’m in the tww too, feeling impatient already. My app is saying test on 5th but my cycles are still all over the place so to be past my longest cycle I would be testing on the 12th too.

@RR369 I’m temping but have woken at 4/5am for the last five days 😩 so readings are all over the place too and just stressing me out at this point. Are you temping too?

RR369 · 01/02/2020 15:14

I know what you mean @Sully84 I'm noticing every twinge and reading things into bloating, dizziness and headaches that are probably nothing!! I'm 7 DPO and due AF on 6th. I got the timing right this cycle so have my hopes up but probably shouldn't.
Is anyone else temping?

Sully84 · 01/02/2020 14:22

I’m in the two week wait. Ovulated last weekend, have had one period since miscarriage that was 29 days after surgery (normal number of days for my cycle), so if it stays true to that I am due on 13th Feb, feels ages away and I am obsessing like I never did conceiving my other two children.

Yesterday evening I was having dizzy spells, today I have a headache. I’m sure it is totally unrelated but it is constantly on my mind 😫

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 01/02/2020 09:07

Congratulations @LITTLEPICKLES88 and @Moominmiss! Giving us all hope❤
I'm here to rant at my body this morning, so feel free to ignore me.
Today I'm sat here with boobs 2 sizes bigger for the last 2 weeks, constant cramps for over a week, metallic taste on and off, feeling sick and aversion to smells- thinking of meat makes me want to throw up and I'm very much a meat lover.
Now cd30 since MC. Bnfs still.
Then this morning, brown spotting.
I.am.going.insane.
Wonder if this started out as something and then again its not gone right and lost it before it even began? Just said to OH I want 2 bottles of wine and forget about it, but I can't because what if its just delayed because of the MC and it's just spotting or implantation.
I would recommend to anyone starting rtc after mc they wait til they've had a period, because this not knowing is fucking shit.

kkr168 · 01/02/2020 08:58

@VeeJayBee I had a natural MC at 6 weeks, pre MC I had a 24 day cycle but my 1st since was a week late. It's been such a strange one though, the 1st day I only had blood when wiping, 2nd morning was the same but as the day went on it got slightly heavier, but there seems to be ALOT of cm mixed in with the blood, I was expecting it to be alot heavier as it's late.

VeeJayBee · 01/02/2020 07:51

Sorry!! Not conceived!!! I meant ovulated. Freudian slip :(

VeeJayBee · 01/02/2020 07:49

I’m just joining too. Miscarried on 19th December at 8 weeks and have been very up and down. I was told I could start TTC straight away, for what it’s worth to people, no need to wait for AF. My scan two weeks after miscarriage showed I had conceived. I’m not pregnant again though - I did 3 x pregnancy tests. My AF still hasn’t returned, it’s been 6 weeks. How long have others waited for their AF to return after a miscarriage?? Lots of love to you all in this position xxx

Ejb86 · 01/02/2020 07:30

Morning!

So I've been using OPKs for the first time. This is my 2nd cycle trying since MMC of my daughters in September. I haven't had a clear positive, but think I had a peak on Weds. I'm using premom to keep track of them. We dtd twice in fertile window this week, so just keeping my fingers crossed now.

Anyone else in tww? Premom says AF due 9th, ovia says 12th, so I'll be testing around then if AF hasn't shown yet.

BS9790 · 31/01/2020 22:36

Thank you @RR369 and @Leok83. That makes sense.... They are sooo expensive aren't they!
I think this month, I'll perhaps just stick to the one a day. I'm trying not to get crazy over the TTC this month if I can help it 😂
Then perhaps next cycle I will try testing In afternoon also! X

LITTLEPICKLES88 · 31/01/2020 21:59

@Leok83 that's a brilliant idea thank you 😘 yes you are right about the worrying, I see people posting about their pregnancy's on my social media early, and friends telling me super early and my first thought is a sad one and really hoping their pregnancy goes well, horrible that we think that way now. Each day is going to go very very slow, my boobs are tender this eve and I was over the moon! How strange does that sound! But my last miscarriage I didn't get sore boobs so it's something different and I am holding on to it xx

LITTLEPICKLES88 · 31/01/2020 21:56

@moominmiss 😱😱😱😱😍🥳congrats , so pleased for you, I don't think that is left over hormone either! We both got the same result today then!! And you have the same amount of will power as me 🤣🤣 xx

Granadobaby20 · 31/01/2020 21:53

Thank you! I didn't think about the left over hormones. I took another this afternoon and it looks more like the control line.
I will test again later this evening and tomorrow too compare results.

Leok83 · 31/01/2020 21:09

My page only updated after I posted so missed ur BFP too @Moominmiss!! Yay..congrats!!!

@BS9790 first cycle I used the CB OPK twice a day after smiley but worked out pricey so after I started with IC 2-3 times a day once I got flashing smiley and used the femometer and premom apps to score them and it worked out a lot cheaper!

@Kona84 so sorry you are going through this now, it’s just horrendous😢. I haven’t gotten DH to take supplements but I have been using proceive max and it comes in a men version too so I’ve told him I’m getting them for him..I think he thinks I’m joking but if I’ve to do it I don’t see why he shouldn’t do his bit!! I can tell him it improves his mood and libido now😄!

Leok83 · 31/01/2020 20:59

Congrats @LITTLEPICKLES88!! Great to see a BFP! It’s horrible that none of us will ever get to enjoy just being relaxed and happy after a BFP from here on in but I hope you can relax a little and find something to keep your mind off worrying for the next few weeks.
For me planning holidays is a good outlet for taking my mind off things.. I research places soo much before going to the point of knowing all the best places for breakfast, lunch and dinner before we even pack a bag😄 Needless to say I’ve booked a few holidays in the last month to take my mind off all this..credit card groaning!!

@Lucero1233 I’d imagine you are probably still picking up HCG rather than LH and getting a false positive on the OPK.

Can I ask has anyone else had brown spotting a few weeks after MC-particularly ERPC? I’d no bleeding for last week but still had HCG at 200 last Monday..last 2 days have had some brown when wiping only. I’m 3 weeks 2 days post ERPC (so CD 24), no signs of ovulation happening on BBT/CM. Previous cycles before MC were 28 days. It’s all just dragging and now this to add to the mix😫

Kona84 · 31/01/2020 20:32

Hi, technically i probably won't be testing for pregnancy until March.
But i will be testing ovulation in Feb.
I am still in the process of miscarrying my first pregnancy. I'm 35 with average 32 day cycle and ovulate around day 20.
We are eager to get going again but i am scared of having another miscarriage.

Before my BFP in December I had been tracking my cycles since June, and actually trying to conceive since September- it happened quite quick for us which was a relief.
The things i changed in November to improve our chances which i am going to continue with are plying my partner with Folic Acid- I read that it can improve the quality of sperm and it actually improved my partners mood and libido. Anyone else give their partner Folic Acid?

For me I am going to continue with Folic acid and prenatal vitamin.
I also cut down my caffeine intake in December. it wasn't unusual for me to have 5-6 black coffees a day. while pregnant i cut back to 1 small coffee a day. I am going to keep my caffeine levels at 1 a day and might even go decaff.
My BMI isn't the best at 28. (i swear most of it is boobs)
i am very active but enjoy pasta too much.

I did test ovulation in October and November which i was glad that i did as i thought i ovulated around CD14 as per my Ovia app but i actually Ovulate on day 20 so would have been missing my window each month.
I am going to buy some more ovulation tests until my cycles regulate again.

Moominmiss · 31/01/2020 20:05

Would have helped if I’d attached the pic! Lol

Moominmiss · 31/01/2020 20:04

So it’s official....I have NO willpower.
This happened.
BUT with it only being 1-2 weeks that could still be low levels that could be leftover couldn’t it?
I’m convinced that’s what it is. I have zero symptoms. And although I had a bfn on 9th it was only on an ic and it’s just making me think maybe it was a false negative.
I have one more digi test which I’ll take in a week if I can hold out that long x
