Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@Annie0425 i thought it was leftover ovulation pain but i am not sure as it feels more like pain from infection but now will wait as the pain is only in the morning... really weird

I think it’s good to have these plans and holiday to look forward too.
It helps with the ttc anxiety!
Feels so much more relaxed now!

Supposedly in tww but doesn’t even feel like it :)

Also just met a friend who conceived first time and she only dtd on day before ovulation! Some people are lucky!!

Moominmiss · 10/02/2020 12:48

@MummaShu it’s certainly possible that you’ve ovulated earlier than usual. For lots of ladies their cycles are thrown totally out of whack and they can ovulate earlier or later than they usually would.

Also just worth noting that if you haven’t yet had a clear bfn following the mc, if you still have some hcg in your system then this can also give you a positive ovulation test.

I mc on 1st January and was getting positive ovulation and pregnancy tests up until last week. Blood work has only just shown hcg is back to pre pregnancy levels and af arrived almost straight away once my levels were normal.

X

Hiya everyone - im so sorry for your losses. Looking for a bit of advice... had surgery to manage miscarriage about 2 & a half weeks ago (lost it at 9 weeks found out at 12 week scan). Stopped bleeding a week ago. I normally have a 33 day cycle, ovulate on day 22. Like clockwork. Yesterday though had what felt like ovulation pain and then tested and had positive opks on day 16. Is it possible to ovulate that quickly, and a different day to normal? Confused was actually going to wait a month but ...

Winkle2020 · 10/02/2020 12:27

@Timeforanamechangeagain1 I can understand what you are going through. I was in your situation last to last month, thinking how can I ever possibly imagine trying again let alone getting and staying pregnant if I still have retained products. But somehow days rolled over and I am in the trying phase now. So hang in there please. Get all the support you need

Timeforanamechangeagain1 · 10/02/2020 11:49

Thank you @Annie0425. I'm pretty certain it's not retained products as I had a hysteroscopy done with the d&c and I have no signs of infection at all. I just need to hang on for a week as I have a follow up with the consultant next Tuesday (obviously if anything goes horribly wrong I'll go to epu/a and e) It just feels never ending. How can I ever try to get pregnant again if I can't even recover from this miscarriage?

Annie0425 · 10/02/2020 11:35

Hi Ladies, sorry haven’t been on MN for a few days. Haven’t caught up with all the messages yet...Hope you all are doing okay..
@seaduck that’s a clear positive! Did you get a BFN after your MC? At 29 days, It could be leftover hcg after the mc, but if you had a bfn, then clearly it meant your hcg went to 0. So, in that case this will be a new pregnancy...congrats!!
@Anny27 We are both on CD16 I think? I haven’t ovulated either, but I usually ovulate between cd19-21. May be you will ovulate late this time? Sorry about the thrush..hopefully you’ll ovulate soon and you might be able to catch it from your last dtd. Good luck!
@Michette...Sorry to hear that.. did you get it checked? It might not be infection and just post ovulation symptoms? Don’t know if that’s a thing 🤔
I too have a couple of long haul flights and holiday coming up in March/ April...so not sure if I want to be pg then...I don’t want to be stressed during my holiday but at the same time I don’t want to lose anymore time too...so in 2 minds about ttc’ing this month!
@Timeforanamechangeagain1 Sorry you are going through this...May be get it checked to rule out infection or retained products? It could still be the start of your period 🤞

shhhhs · 10/02/2020 11:03

@seaduck amazing news ❤️👶🎉 congratulations! Xx

Michette · 10/02/2020 10:39

Congrats @seaduck

@anny27
What happened??

On my part bot feeling great.
For the feeling i still have PID from MC infection
And 2dpo :(

Anny27 · 10/02/2020 10:28

Ahhh help - I haven't ovulated yet and I have thrush:(

The advice is not to have sex untill a week after the treatment. I am so gutted!

Hopefully I ovulate today or tomorrow because we DTD on saturday so might be a slight chance.

Feel gutted like this month is a right off now :(

Timeforanamechangeagain1 · 10/02/2020 10:03

Well after feeling hopeful last week I don't think my period has started. I think it is bleeding after the d and c again as it is really red. I am so fed up with this. I have basically just bleeding in one way or another for five weeks now. It's really getting me down

seaduck · 10/02/2020 09:36

@kkr168 I've no idea! Blush I didn't use opks and I didn't have any noticeable symptoms of ov. All I know is I'm 29 days since the gestational sac passed, and 32 since bleeding started. My cycle is usually 28 days.

kkr168 · 10/02/2020 09:27

@seaduck that is such a clear positive, how many dpo are you?

kkr168 · 10/02/2020 09:23

@Leok83 the epu told me it was fine to TTC straight after a negative pregnancy test, the only reason they suggest waiting until after at least 1 period is purely for dating purposes, so get busy!

seaduck · 10/02/2020 09:16

@Leok83 Thanks Shock im still feeling a little unsure due to messing it up, going to get another test today and have another go. I only have a Clear blue to go and that line looks faint so don't want to waste it.

I'd say if your home pregnancy test is negative it's very unlikely to have retained products now. I'll be the devil Grin and say go for it, don't miss your window if you feel ready.

Happythecrocodile · 10/02/2020 09:11

@seaduck looks positive to me! Congratulations!!

I am trying to wait until the weekend to test (if no period by then) but I’m so tempted to test early 😬 I’m CD27 today...

Leok83 · 10/02/2020 08:59

@seaduck yes!!! That def looks positive!! Yay..Congrats!!!
So happy to see a BFP..was just thinking this morning the thread needed one😄

My flashy smiley went straight to peak this morning😊 CD 34
I’m a bit conflicted tho as to wether or not to go for it as my ultrasound isn’t until tomorrow and repeat hcg not till Wednesday but don’t want to miss the window! Surely if there were retained products I wouldn’t be ovulating? Also have a def bfn on home PT so I’m assuming it’s ok..wish this was more clear cut and advice from docs was the same across the board on wether or not to wait until after af!!

seaduck · 10/02/2020 08:24

Is this positive?? Blush I managed to wee everywhere but the test so it didn't have much urine to go off.

CAM285 · 09/02/2020 20:54

@seaduck thank you 😊. Good luck on your test tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

seaduck · 09/02/2020 20:50

So sorry about your mc @cam285.

seaduck · 09/02/2020 20:46

Going to test tomorrow, 29 days since mc, no idea when or even if I ovulated so could yet be too early. I don't feel pregnant and my mood has been horrendous which is usually the best indicator of an incoming period for me. But I'm still holding onto a tiny tiny hope, that my periods are 28 days like clockwork normally so if I treat the mc as a period, I would be 1 day over. Just want to be pregnant again. Sad

BS9790 · 09/02/2020 19:20

@Michette, ooh good luck with the driving test. I'm almost 30 and only been driving a couple of years so I'm not judging there lol!!

I want to test 19th as it's earliest I think a test would show, and as we're on holiday I feel like I'm going to be in limbo around the cocktails etc!!

We're also trying for our first x

CAM285 · 09/02/2020 17:28

@Michette thank you for the advice. Very eager to try again but don't want an infection!! I'll wait a while for my periods to settle again. Xx

Michette · 09/02/2020 17:11

@CAM285 sorry to hear that, i would take it easy it i were you.
I also was rushing the MC to try again and ended up with an infection and a two weeks course of antibiotics.
Take time for yourself, and make sure all the bleeding has stopped and you had a scan to confirm that the MC is complete before starting.
Good luck xx

Michette · 09/02/2020 17:03

@BS9790 exactly same approach !
I also wanted to test on 19/20 but i have my driving test on 20th morning (yes i am 30 haha) and i am worried i will start obsessing and overthinking whatever results.
So will probably test 21st or 20th after test !

Do you have kids? This is our first.

CAM285 · 09/02/2020 16:37

Hi everyone, I am 6 weeks pregnant but unfortunately I believe I am having a miscarriage due to 4 days of heavy bleeding, passing clots and very painful cramping. I'm so gutted. We plan to try again straight away. Any advice on ovulation following a miscarriage? 💗💗
