TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@michette I only just got a positive OPK at cd23!!! In the past I have had occasions where I have had the odd longer cycle so guess it's just one of those times! Frustrating though haha. But did mean that the thrush cleared up and we were able to DTD a few times before ovulation!

Will you test early @michette?

Michette · 17/02/2020 11:48

Good idea @ChampooPapi
Mindfulness helps a lot...

9dpo and the sharp pain on left have almost gone just now feeling like light periods cramps.
Hopefully it’s implantation and not an infection...

I didnt want to symptom spot but it’s so hard when you have symptoms. The question is of what!???

@Anny27 how are you getting on?

Ibaadsmummy · 17/02/2020 11:05

@bathwater thank you x

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 10:51

@Cometa08 my T4 12.5 which is normal range but low end, however my TSH is high at 8.1. This mean my body is working really hard to keep it within normal range. So the GP said with my MC history its best to treat it. Plus pretty much all the women in my family on both sides have thyroid problems.
Its been borderline for years but they've never treated it.

@SweetpeaOrMarigold You said your thyroid is borderline low and you are going to take medication for it. How low is it? I'm still waiting for my results from Gp. In a previous reading I had 2.7 but nobody suggested me any drugs for it.
Hopefully the only reason you had those MCs is related to your thyroid and soon you will get a full term pregnancy. Smile

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 09:06

Thanks @ChampooPapi, good luck, it only takes once Wink

Bathwater · 17/02/2020 09:01

@Ibaadsmummy it is incredibly hard as things take on a new dimension that they never had before. I know it feels like a double rejection (body and by partner).Look after yourself though, it is not an easy time. But we’re all looking for that rainbow and hope we all get it

ChampooPapi · 17/02/2020 08:54

Hey @SweetpeaOrMarigold, good to see you pop up on here and update, I can test in a week if no af appears over the weekend. Going to do a lot of mindfulness this week and try and be thankful for everything I have, positive thinking generally, though i am pretty certain I'll be trying in March as we only dtd like 5 times this month.

Just couldn't be arsed to do it any more 😆 what will be will be

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 07:58

Hi all, I managed to stay away for over a week while I concentrated on learning the art of BBT and OPK!
Femometer says I'm d2po and we dtd a lot this week, so fingers crossed. I'm determined not to symptom spot this time as it makes zero difference to the end result, last 2 months I have had symptoms, been pregnant and had MC at 5.5 and 4.5 weeks, so it's not real til at least 6 now.

@Cometa08 my GP was amazing, I had a load of bloods like thyroid, diabetes, liver and anaemia. My thyroid is borderline low, so I've started thyroxine whilst TTC. I've also been referred to recurrent MC clinic as I'm 38, just waiting for the letter.
@ibaadsmummy my OH is quite happy with the sex part 🙄 but isn't interested in the rest. He wants a baby and not the fuss and doesn't really understand how awful it is to feel your body is failing you.

Ibaadsmummy · 17/02/2020 00:03

@bathwater thank you for responding I'm scared I'm ruining out relationship but at the same time I dont wana miss my time slots I dont wana make him DTD if his not in the mood or his tired but cnt help feel upset n rejected when he doesnt but before mc I never thought twice about bedroom antics we did it whenever sometimes regularly sometimes with big gaps. Since ttc its changed the whole dynamics of things its hard

Bathwater · 16/02/2020 23:52

@Ibaadsmummy sorry I posted earlier and just been watching thread so I don’t get obsessive. But I remember after my 2nd MMC I was incredibly low and lost. My husband said he worried that TTC was putting too much pressure on me and he was concerned about the impact it was having on me. He’d never seen me as sad as I was. Everyone is different and I don’t know how you were/ have been but he could be trying to protect you both in an odd way?
Even now mine is cautious and is loathed to say which way is what, but he was mr positive before the first MMC, so he reigned it in massively.

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 22:50

Does anyone feel other half isnt as interested or bothered about ttc as they are do you guys feel you forcing your obsession into them, I feel at times it's only me who has been affected by this and his not even bothered and like I'm forcing him how do I discuss this without seeming like the bad person, or ungrateful or desperate. He says he wants another baby he wants to try but then just goes to to sleep. And forgets I even said I'm ovulating and let's try even after saying he wants to. I feel upset rejected and abit alone.

Michette · 16/02/2020 18:44

@leok83 i doubt it... it s more uterus pain but just on the left side.
When i had the MC i had the same pain and they said my uterus had tilted to the left but should be back in place soon...

Anyway still getting the pain but less frequent so hopefully will be ok by tmrw.

Obviously i was hoping it was implantation but it was very different than implantation pain which felt more like period cramps last time.

we shall see on Saturday or Friday :)

Hugs @FireflyGirl x

FireflyGirl · 16/02/2020 17:00

Sorry for disappearing, it was my due date from my first pregnancy of last year. Was so hoping I'd be pregnant again by now.

It's been very hard, and I'm only just starting to come out of the other side.

5dpo now, so fingers crossed for everyone this month!

Leok83 · 16/02/2020 14:46

@lbaadsmummy that’s great it all looking good and ur about to ov! And you didn’t do anything wrong..I think it’s hard to accept but the sheer amount of ladies on here going through the same is testament to how common MC actually is. You can do everything right and sometimes it’s just not meant to be. I found out about MMC 7th Jan and really only starting to accept it wasn’t because of something I did in the last couple weeks. Xx

@Michette hopefully it’s implantation cramps and not infection again, also I sometimes get really stabbing left side cramps with wind..could it be that??!!

Michette · 16/02/2020 13:30

@BS9790 sounds promising so far!

I am 8 dpo and i have some sharp stabbing pain on my left side which reminds me of that bloodh infection and MC.
It comes every 30min or so and lasts a few seconds

Not sure what to do.....

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 11:21

Well all looks clear and one good thing she told me my lining had thickened and she saw a egg on folical so that means I'm due to release a egg soon so I still got hope this month need to DTD again next few days xxx

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 10:52

@leok83 I ment

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 10:52

I do have a 2 year old so he has helped me alot I think cos first pregnancy was problem free that's why it shocked me more this time as cant figure out what I did wrong xx

Leok83 · 16/02/2020 10:18

@BS9790 It’s great to have stuff to take mind off the TWW..but it can’t be nice getting on a flight feeling sick🤢 hope the journeys ok!!

@lbaadsmummy good luck at the follow up scan. It’s always so sad when you think about how far along should be😔How many DPO are you now ?

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 10:08

Ment best of luck xx

Ibaadsmummy · 16/02/2020 10:07

BS9790 · 16/02/2020 05:35

7/8dpo now and feeling so sick.
This started around 7dpo last time, trying not to get my hopes up or think about it!
Got a flight to catch today, hopefully I'll be busy enough over the next couple of days to stop symptom spotting.

Hope everyones doing OK 😊

VeeJayBee · 15/02/2020 20:18

@Cometa08 thanks that’s good to know that your cycle was longer after mc as I’d have totally assumed I’d got pregnant once we start trying again, as I was having short cycles pre mc, 21-24 days long.

It’s really hard to think of the due date and I’m sure it’ll be really hard when it comes round. I would have been due 25th July and I think I’ll somehow mark it xxx

Cometa08 · 15/02/2020 09:09

@Michette Human reproduction is so imperfect, it is unbelieveble how many things we have to take into account. When my nephew will start asking how babies are made I will honestly say I don't know! Confused
