shazbot - everyone seems to have different reactions to taking Clomid. I haven't tried it but I think that pre-seed is recommended for lubrication. Also, don't know if you are drinking graefruit juice but that can also help. Good luck.

Hi everyone i was wondering if someone could answer my question? Ive finished my first cycle of clomid over a week ago however i am experiencing dryness downstairs is this normal? and can someone suggest a lubrication that is not hostile tp sperm Thanks

Hello All- Hope everyone is well and I see there has been some lovely BFP! Very exciting- well done Floss and NH. I was on holiday and then very busy at work and to be honest, was trying to curb my obsession- hence not being online.

Tiger- I get sore boobs after ovulation (I think) I think it must be progesterone doing it. I did get this 1 month before clomid, but I understand clomid can make you have sore boobs due to hormones.

Well, this is a bit of a goodbye. I have had another AF and after 6 months on clomid (and 6 months of nothing after MMC) I have realised I need to stop focusing on all of this. I lost my baby exactly one year ago and I don't feel I have the energy to face the ups and downs. So I don't think I am going to be around here for awhile. I am now waiting for surgery, but that won't be until next summer, so I am trying to focus on work, home and DH.

heartmoonshadow When I went to the hospital before seeing the gynae I saw the nurse who took urine sample and took height and weingt. She worked out my BMI as 27 (25 is the top end of 'healthy') so I a officially overweight, but the didn't say anything about it being a no-go. Can't be as I'm on cycle 4 of 6 months of Clomid. I'd go to the docs first - remember Clomid is prescription only for a reason - you want to be monitored to make sure it's working/not over-stimulating you Don't know if being overweight is bad for IVF etc though, maybe that's what your gynae meant? my dp is a complete wuzz when poorly. He makes heavy sighing noises just to make sure i know he is pooryl too! lol

But I'm lucky. DH has to be pretty darn ill before he admits it, he's fairly macho about these things But then he milks it, mostly in a jokey way, tho

Oh - don't let dh hear you sympathising, he's already telling me that he has bird flu and all sorts! And he's bragging about having lost half a stone!

Heatsandmoon - I have to say that i think having healthy bmi helped with conception in my case. Very hard to keep a lid on weight when having PCOS but was prescribed metformin which also helped.

Tigerschick - poor dh hope it gets well soon and that you dont catch it. x

Awen - thanks. TBH DH has a d+v and has had it for about 4 or 5 days so he's not up to much ... if I had oved I think I'd be tearing my hair out by now!

heartmoonshadow - sorry, I'm not an expert so can't help with your query. I also have PCOS and am, for me, slightly over weight but the specialist seemed happy with me - the thing is, it varies massively from area to area and also from consultant to consultant. If you are concerned then I'd suggest asking for a different specialist, or going for a private consultation. Whatever you decide to do I wish you all the luck in the world

Has anyone here experienced problems being prescribed Clomid because they are 'fat', I am not seriously overweight just a bit fat - but my Gynae once suggested that I would only get fertility treatment if I slimmed down. Do you think this is a con - designed only to give Clomid to a small number of women or do you think it is a bonafide idea? The reason I say this is because if I starved myself I could get to the desired weight but maintaining it is another question - as I am at the moment I am plump but ata a stable weight - one that I can live with. I also have PCOS so therefore losing weight is nigh on impossible. I will be honest I am tempted to buy Clomid and use anyway but I am a bit of a chicken and would be interested in any info from people who have used it first.

Pheonix - I spoke to my consultant about the same thing (as in how to get prescribed clomid) as am currently preg thanks to clomid. We also were ttc for some time and I have PCO. Consultant said it is likely that gp can then just prescribe. If he doesnt I am to contct the consulatnt. hth x

Well, it's sex for the fun of it in the tiger household again this month
Ovaries as polycystic as they were before. At least this time the specialist was less enthusiastic about the fantastic teaching resource my scan made!!
I've been given a script for more progesterone and course of 100mg clomid. Will start progesterone in 3 weeks if period doesn't show up before then - not likely to as I haven't oved!

Anyway. Took dd to the zoo for the first time today, which was really nice - tho the gorillas scared her.

hi countess, i dont have pcos as my problem is that i dont ovulate but what i did was i waited til my son was 6 months, then i asked the gp to do a day 21 blood test for two consecutive months to see whether i still had problems.i dod so he referred my tro my gynae and i didnt have to go through another lap and dye, scans etc. he just gave me clomid again. i was worried that i would have to start from scratch again with all the tests but i didnt have to

I haven't read the thread but can i ask a question?

I was eventually diagnosed with pcos after ttc for years and going through all the hospital tests. I was prescribed Clomid and conceived my ds after 4 cycles. Ds is now 20 month old and we're thinking about dc2 but yet again i'm not having periods regularly so not ovulating.

Could i just go to my GP and get prescibed clomid again or would i have to go through all the tests etc again?

Actually thinking about it my skin's been a lot worse on Clomid. I look like a 14 year old

Hi tigers - no I don't get any physical symptoms on Clomid (get the emotional ones though ) I actually found that Clomid has taken away my usual pre-af symptoms (which was heavy boobs and backache) so I don't have any clues that she's on her way now.

Hi all

Just a quickie - does anyone else get achy boobs a few days after taking Clomid? Both cycles so far I have had really achy boobs from about CD12. Last cycle it went on til about CD32, I'm not sure how long it will last this time!
Not hopeful for my scan tomorrow - got a negative OPK this morning.

Saw your post Beena. I am just about to start on Clomid (Tuesday next week !) Do you know anything about it like side effects and so on. Thought I may have ovulated last month naturally but not such luck . It is so hard to do the regular bd every 2 days. Nice in the obvious way but difficult in others .

hi beena, im on day 13 and as soon as my next cycle starts then ill be on clomid. hey shazbot, we'll keep your spirits up. we've all been through the highs and lows (and there are plenty of those on clomid)
