tigerschick sorry that scan went badly. Agree with Scorpio and hope that they get back to you soon rather than you waiting whole weekend. Sending hugs your way xxx

makecakesnotwar · 22/11/2007 16:42

Hey all- just popping my head round to offer support, and a liberal sprinkling of baby dust. It has been a very long 13 weeks, but all well...

Oh, and hello to Awen, who must be very rotund now!!!

scorpio1 · 22/11/2007 15:43

Tigers that is shit, really and truly. What are they going to do for you? I hope they get back to you asap and save the worry.

Tigerschick · 22/11/2007 15:04

Feeling really crap now.

I went for my scan today and my ovaries are just as polycystic as always, despite the increased dose of Clomid.
My specialist is having a meeting with the consultant tomorrow so she will ask him what to do next and will ring me, either tomorrow night or on Monday morning.

Moocha · 15/11/2007 09:41

Hi There -
AF has arrived today as expected.
Will start taking the clomid again tomorrow!

MrsDomJames · 13/11/2007 15:02

hiya, im trying to conceive baby number 2 after over 3 yrs with no luck, im on 1st month of clomid 100mgs, have 1st scan friday and on cd8 x

Moocha · 13/11/2007 12:29

On day 28 - no AF as yet, but don't think I Ovd this month as no sore boobs (usually get this last two weeks of cycle). Although OV tests said LH surge on day 17.
Had 21 day progesterone blood test but GP haven't had results back yet - so in limbo at the moment.

Will let you all know what happens - expectim a visit from Auntie in the next couple of days!

Tigerschick · 10/11/2007 12:44

Hi all ...

CD2 for me.
Started taking Clomid. I have warned DH because, up til now, I have actually been taking 'clomifene' which is basically the same as Clomid (it's been described as the difference between paracetamol and Panadol) but you never know - I may go loooooopy Also, of course, I'm on the higher dose this month.

Hope everyone is well and happy

I would be inclined to agree with Tigers response, certainly talk with your GP asap. Haven't had personal experience of clomid due to unsuitability (had very high LH levels due to PCOS). What clomid does is make the ovaries work harder.

Pshaw to this gynae unit - you need closer monitoring than what you have been given to date. Are you being seen at a subfertility unit?.

Do you have a diagnosis of the underlying problem?.

nomoremagnolia · 08/11/2007 15:31

Thanks tigers I just don't know whether to think that the Clomid hasn't worked and I haven't ov'd (but I have done for last 3 clomid cycles) or if I'm pg but not showing enough hcg or if AF is playing mind games with me. I even went back through my diary to check the dates to see if I'd miscounted my days and was expecting AF a week earlier than she was due . I just want to know one way or the other - I've never been this late before even before Clomid.

tigerschick · 08/11/2007 15:14

Hi all

Beena - really good luck for your second scan. Your first one sounds positive, at least you know it is working this month.

nomore - sorry about the bfn. My specialist tells me to wait until CD35 before starting my next course of progesterone. I take the progesterone to induce a period if the Clomid hasn't worked - which it never has, yet. So, if you get to CD35 with no bfp I'd be tempted to go and speak to your gp at least. So that's Monday, I guess. Fingers crossed that you don't get that far - it's the waiting and not knowing that kills me.

I'm just waiting for my period to start so that I can begin my third cycle of Clomid. It'll be the first at 100mg. Expecting period tomorrow ... we'll see

nomoremagnolia · 08/11/2007 13:54

Have been monitored a bit by the gynae unit where I was prescribed the Clomid (not as much as others on here - no follicle tracking or scans since the one to see if I had PCOS, which I didn't) I'm on 50mg which has made me ovulate (blood test in first month on Clomid showed 58 - it was 8 before Clomid)

Do you know if cycles on Clomid can vary this much? All my other Clomid cycles have been 28 or 27 days.

How long do you think I should wait though? If I go now I expect my GP will say wait longer and see if AF/BFP arrives.

Thakns for you help - I was hoping you might spot this message

AttilaTheMeerkat · 08/11/2007 13:46

nomoremagnolia

What doseage are you on and have you been monitored to date?.

I would speak to your GP with a view also of getting a referral to a gynae (if you are not under the supervision of one already).

nomoremagnolia · 08/11/2007 10:07

BFN but still no AF. Has anyone else on CLomid had such a long cycle? This is cycle 4 on Clomid - first was 28 days, second 27, third 27 and now this fourth is 32
I just want to know what's going on, I don't dare get my hopes up and I am still expecting AF to arrive, but if she doesn't I guess I'll have to go to the doctor about the lack of AF and what to do about the next cycle of Clomid. How long should I wait (assuming I continue to get BFNs) before going to doctor?

nomoremagnolia · 07/11/2007 22:12

I'm waiting to test in the morning 3 days late now...

MamaMaiasaura · 07/11/2007 21:00

Beena - fingers crossed those follicles grow. I never had a follicle tracking scan. When they thought the 50mg didnt work on first cycle they were keen to put me up to 100mg. Is this something they will consider for you? x

Beena · 07/11/2007 18:50

Thanks Atilla - fingers crossed I get to 20mm although they said anything between 18mm and 22mm would be great so am hoping at least one of them will be ok this month. Am going back for another scan on Friday so will report back after that as well!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/11/2007 18:46

Beena

Am very glad to see you are being monitored!.
A follicle size of 20 mm is ideal, hopefully one of these follicles will get to that size.

When is your next appointment with them?.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 07/11/2007 18:45

Moocha

Have just seen your message re opk's.

Please refrain from using the OPK's especially if you are taking clomid because clomid increases LH levels. This is what this kit could be reading.

Also OPK's are useless if PCO is an issue.

Beena · 07/11/2007 16:50

Hi Awen - we're on to cycle 2 of clomid 50mg days 2-6 after it failed to make me OV last month. Am on day 10 today and just been for my 1st follicle tracking scan - they confirmed I have polycystic ovaries but only midly but on a good note they saw a 15mm follicle in my right ovary and a 13mm follicle in my left ovary. Also said my endometriu lining was triple layered and a good thickness. Going for 2nd scan on Friday to check everything is still going ok. First month I have had this follicle tracking and it fascinating being able to see what's going on inside.

How is everyone else getting on?
