FRER on 8DPO like an idiot!

I tested today (at only 8DPO) like an idiot because the TWW is driving me mad and seems to be dragging! I almost definitely knew it was going to be a BPN but did it anyway... whyyy!! Anyone else in the same boat? I ovulated on 31st Dec (confirmed by opk and Flo app) and have 1 more test at home which I'm trying to save until Saturday/Sunday.

Congratulations mimmi! Amazing news.

I also got my BFP this am too! My husband said he knew, I’ve been an emotional wreck all week! Cried everyday, had twinges more a less everyday since 7DPO and my nipples yesterday were so sore.

Oddly normally a few days before my AF is due I have a really craving for sugar.... I didn’t have it this week!

Now to be anxious about everything else!

@Bubble29 and @Kendrick12 any news today??

I tested with an early detecter brand called "Lovia" as well as my usual IC... I think the BFP is undeniable!!! I'm in total shock.

Obviously anything can still happen at this stage, so am still feeling nervous. But oh my god!!! Never thought I would be so lucky on our first cycle...

For info, I didn't really have any major symptoms in my TWW until yesterday (11dpo). No nausea whatsoever, no frequent need to pee, no sore boobs, no headaches, no constipation (quite the contrary)... Although on 7dpo I did have a semi-painful twinge on my left-hand side (kind of like a pinching stitch under my ribs) - lasted no more than 1minute. Might have been implantation...

Only yesterday (11dpo) did I start getting a few light cramps and twinges, but could just as well have been AF pains. My nipples are also super sensitive, and pretty much constantly erect (even when I'm hot).

Also, my TWW has been very tumultuous. I was on holiday by the beach during ovulation. The next day I went quad biking on a VERY bumpy dirt track road. A few days later I had a horrendous night flight and hardly got any sleep. And a few days after that I went clubbing and danced the night away (didn't have alcohol though). I've also had a raging cold for the past 2 weeks, and have been caughing and sneezing until my ribs hurt. All this to say that I think you can pretty much lead a very normal life during the TWW... The only think I did was reduce my alcohol/coffee intake and had pineapple/pineapple juice every day (but this is probably just an old wives tale...)

Let's now hope that this sticks!!! Thanks all for confirming my pee sticks when they were crazy faint....

@Bubble29 I think I'd test tomorrow morning with FMU!! Good Luck x

Kendrick12 · 11/01/2020 21:02

@mimmi91 congratulations. It's such a rollercoaster I've done 2 tests tonight a one step strip test (very faint positive) and a clear blue early detection (negative) I also got 4 very very faint positives on FRER Wednesday and Thursday Am but I can't get any more FRER tests until Wednesday at the earliest, no where in my area sells them! 😫😫😫 xxx

Bubble29 · 11/01/2020 20:24

Argh when to test.
I’m 11DPO, my cycles are 24 days and my AF was due today (although one app says it could be tomorrow).I have 1 FRER...... should I hold out to see if my AF arrives tomorrow or just for for it?

I feel I’d feel less disappointment if my AF turns up as oppose to seeing a negative test.

Thoughts?

kell2126 · 11/01/2020 20:04

never heard of Lovia as a brand but 12,5mIU/ml sounds pretty sensitive – I think FRER is supposed to be 10,5, no?

mimmi91 · 11/01/2020 15:37

Thanks girls!! I didn't manage to find a FRER (I don't live in the UK)... so have opted for a "Lovia" branded PG test instead, which is also meant to be used several days before period (sensitivity 12,5mIU/ml).
Has anyone got any experience with this brand??

kell2126 · 11/01/2020 13:51

mimmi91 · 11/01/2020 09:07

2020wish · 10/01/2020 16:13

@mimmi91 thank u

mimmi91 · 10/01/2020 15:32

Probably 28th - at least that's the average between 27th and 29th hah!

2020wish · 10/01/2020 15:07

@HarrietM87 ok so I had peak fertility on the CB digital kit on the 27th dec and 28th. So I wait to count 1 day post ovulation from the 28th or 29th?

mimmi91 · 10/01/2020 14:53

@Kendrick12 and @2020wish I'm also slightly confused by this.

I count my OV day to be the 31/12 for the following reasons :

29/12 - negative opk, but loads of super stretchy EWCM
30/12 - positive opk, the line was without a doubt darker
31/12 - positive opk again !
01/01 - no rise in BBT, but negative opk
02/01 - BBT rise and negative opk

Read online that only about 20% of women see a BBT rise the day after OV. Most women seem to rise 2 days or more later! I had noticed this already in my previous cycle. Hence thought it made sense that I ov on the 31/12 as it was the last day I got a positive opk, and a BBT rise less than 48hours later.

Any thoughts on this theory...?

HarrietM87 · 10/01/2020 14:47

@Kendrick12 you get the positive opk 24-36 hours before ovulation. The opk detects the surge of lutenising hormone which tells your body to ovulate, but it takes around a day for it to take effect.

2020wish · 10/01/2020 14:09

@Kendrick12 this what I’m wondering

Kendrick12 · 10/01/2020 13:58

Does everyone count ovulation days from the day you got your first positive OPK?? only I read online that you actually ovulate 24-48 hours after positive OPK which would mean my dpo I've been getting wrong?? Why is it so confusing!! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ xxx

mimmi91 · 10/01/2020 13:06

@R2D2abc oh really? Well in that case I guess it's even more of a reason for my 20mIU/ml strips to not really detect anything yet... :)

R2D2abc · 10/01/2020 12:54

@mimmi91 I think the chart you found refers to hcg present in blood. It's never that high in urine.

mimmi91 · 10/01/2020 12:16

@kell2126 thanks for the positivity! Glad to hear I'm not totally insane... I'll keep you updated in the next few days... fingers crossed...

mimmi91 · 10/01/2020 10:39

@HarrietM87 and @mrsrichy that's ok, I did think I was being completely obsessive.

These HCG strips supposedly only detect min 20mIU/ml, and at dpo10 a pregnant woman is only at about 10mIU/ml, so I'm not out yet!!

For info, this is a chart of HCG in mIU/ml per dpo I found online... Don't know if there's any truth to it...

DPO 10 : 10 mIU/ml
DPO 11 : 18 mIU/ml
DPO 12 : 30 mIU/ml
DPO 13 : 50 mIU/ml
DPO 14 : 80 mIU/ml
DPO 15 : 130 mIU/ml
DPO 16 : 220 mIU/ml
DPO 17 : 350 mIU/ml
DPO 18 : 600 mIU/ml
DPO 19 : 900 mIU/ml
DPO 20 : 1500 mIU/ml

kell2126 · 10/01/2020 10:35

Huge congrats @debbs77!!! Flowers
