Hey! Just looking for some folks in a similar position to start a chat with.

I'm 34 and have been trying for a second child for 6 months. With my first, I didn't realise how lucky we were when we got pregnant in the first cycle with no real trying. I was 30 at the time. Our daughter has just turned 4.

This time, I tried the relaxed approach for a couple of months to start with and then resorted to opks and an app to give some guidance as to when would be a good time to try.

Anyway, after trying for 6 months with no joy, I'm beginning to feel a bit anxious. I can't stop wondering if there's a problem and can't stop googling!!

Please join if you're in a similar position and wanting to chat! X

Thank you @inahaze!
AF was due on Tuesday. I’m feeling fine at the moment, hopefully it stays that way!

inahaze · 13/02/2020 09:01

Wooooooo yay!!!! @LLB2020 great news!

How you feeling?
How many DPO?

LBB2020 · 13/02/2020 08:37

I got a BFP this morning Smile

SomethingAboutYou · 12/02/2020 21:20

That sounds about right @inahaze

The TWW is starting to get to me...I'm 7dpo and desperately trying not to symptom spot but just can't help myself. Every little twinge I think is a sign - send help! 🤦‍♀️

Lnix · 12/02/2020 19:25

@inahaze i think you're right! Tricky as you don't want life to stop either...can you wait a few weeks to book? X

I've just posted on the wrong thread thinking it was this one, so embarrassing!

we've been invited on a family holiday to Efteling in the Netherlands in October half term....... I'm guessing I wouldn't want to travel / wouldn't get insured after 32 weeks, which would mean a due date of mid-December? is that right? So I can't book it yet I don't think

littletandme · 11/02/2020 21:02

I use Fertility Friend and Femometer apps. When I've plugged in the cycle info I've got from my period tracker app (which I've had for years) they both match up quite well. I like that you can take pictures of your OPKs on Femometer, but the graph for BBT is better on Fertility Friend.

tgwjslo · 11/02/2020 18:27

Thanks @inahaze I'll definitely ready into it. I think I'm going to try acupuncture as well to see if that helps!

LBB2020 · 11/02/2020 18:11

I use Ovia and my Fitbit they are roughly the same (just a day out)

SomethingAboutYou · 11/02/2020 13:54

Thinking about it, surely before and during makes sense as sperm can live for up to 5 days so if they're there before the egg releases it means they could fertilise it straight away whereas if you send them in after ovulation it may be too late....🤔

SomethingAboutYou · 11/02/2020 13:49

Welcome @tgwjslo 🙋

I just use the fitbit app which highlights the fw in blue with a little sign for OD - it starts a few days before OD and stops the day after, which is consistent with CM so I've assumed it was right. Didn't know other apps had other ideas though, how annoying!!

Not used opk sorry @lnix

inahaze · 11/02/2020 13:47

@tgwjslo basal body temperature, I discovered it after reading the book "taking charge of your fertility" which I read about 10 years ago....

and

tgwjslo · 11/02/2020 13:38

@inahaze sorry what's BBT?

inahaze · 11/02/2020 13:27

@tgwjslo so glad you asked this because i'm having exactly the same issue! I'm just going to do BBT next month to know for sure.

tgwjslo · 11/02/2020 12:33

Can I ask what app is everyone using to track their ovulation? I normally use Flo but after reading some of the posts, I've also downloaded Ovia. Flo normally says you're fertile before and during ovulation and Ovia says during and after. Which is more accurate?

inahaze · 11/02/2020 06:59

Welcome @tgwjslo

@Lnix haven't used opk before, just charting. Will probably start doing bbt next month if this month not successful

Anyone used the ava ring? It does the bbt charting temperatures

LBB2020 · 11/02/2020 06:31

Sorry @Lnix I don’t have any experience of using opk.
@tgwjslo sorry to hear about your chemical Sad

tgwjslo · 10/02/2020 21:22

Hi 👋 can I join you lovely ladies?
I'm 34. DH is 38. DD is coming up to 3.

My much delayed AF arrived today after a suspected chemical pregnancy (I got 48 hours of faint positives before BFN). Initially I was completely heartbroken but now my AF has come, I feel like I can move on and now gearing up for month 2 of TTC.
Good luck everyone. It's amazing to see a group of women supporting each other through a rollercoaster journey!

Lnix · 10/02/2020 18:54

Anyone massively experienced in opk politics?? I usually use the one step cheapie ovulation tests off Amazon and have always had a definite positive between day 12-15 every month we've been trying (7 months). This month I had been getting a gradual build of the pink line since I started testing. I ran out of tests today (day 14) so bought some tesco ones. Took one this afternoon and it's completely blank. Control line is there but the other line is the faintest of faint negatives. I'm totally confused and disheartened. I test 3 times a day so highly unlikely I have missed it. Anyone else found A discrepancy between types/brands of test?

Emelene · 09/02/2020 18:48

Welcome! Smile

I'm supposedly in my fertile period but CM not really matching up. We've been busy and tired and have manage to BD once this week. And now I have a stinking cold. Feeling sorry for myself and annoyed it's turned out this way!

inahaze · 09/02/2020 17:51

Welcome @LBB2020!

LBB2020 · 09/02/2020 17:02

Thanks, I’m not feeling hopeful as I have period type dull ache that I usually get a few days before AF but we’ll see
