Anyone TTC second baby?

Hey! Just looking for some folks in a similar position to start a chat with.

I'm 34 and have been trying for a second child for 6 months. With my first, I didn't realise how lucky we were when we got pregnant in the first cycle with no real trying. I was 30 at the time. Our daughter has just turned 4.

This time, I tried the relaxed approach for a couple of months to start with and then resorted to opks and an app to give some guidance as to when would be a good time to try.

Anyway, after trying for 6 months with no joy, I'm beginning to feel a bit anxious. I can't stop wondering if there's a problem and can't stop googling!!

My period is now 5 days late, but I've had 2 further BFNs on cheap Tesco tests. I couldn't find any FRERs - where do people buy them?

I think I'll wait a few more days though as I think it's just a really long cycle... Sad

@babymoonpie it's the most awful rollercoaster of emotions isn't it? sometimes i feel like i'm not even sure how i would cope with another one, and other days i feel like i want 3 more!

i want further tests too as i feel like time isn't on my side being 38 this year, but at the same time it feels too early to panic? this is only cycle 3.

Can I join please? Just got AF in my 14th cycle. DD is 3. I'm 40 this year and said if I wasn't pregnant by August I'd stop but I'm about ready to throw in the towel now. I'm finding it harder to cope every month we've no success. Bloods are fine and we've been referred for sperm analysis and an ultrasound for me but I don't know if I want to do it. If the results show something is wrong I'll feel like we've been wasting our time and if everything is OK I'll be frustrated that it's not happening. It feels defeatist but I'm starting to think I should accept we're a family of 3

apparently there's a supermoon march, april and may, so hopefully baby dust and extra fertility for everyone!

next one is march 9th, anyone ovulating then?

last month was a supermoon, i think it was feb 9th, maybe around the time of your ovulation?

i was trying to convince myself that i would be extra fertile if i ovulated at the supermoon, alas...

My period is now 3 days late but I had a BFN on Sunday. When would you ladies test again?

@Lnix @OneOfManyDays me too! My DS was 4 in December & had a traumatic birth except we've been trying for 3 years now. I've even had therapy as thought it might be emotional reasons why I couldn't fall pregnant. I just don't want DS to be an only child

Hey @OneOfManyDays gosh your stats and experiences sound very similar to mine. I guess if I relaxed about the age gap I might find things a bit easier! My DD was 4 in December and we put off trying for a second until summer just gone, down to traumatic experiences first time round. I just find myself feeling a bit guilty about that now...like maybe if I'd been brave enough to try sooner then I wouldn't have been trying for 8 cycles and counting...But hey, I couldn't have known. Just something I wonder about!

Stats:
Age: 34
DC: DD is almost 4
Cycle: quite irregular. Can be 28 days, can be 45 days! Recently more stable though so thought good time to try again.
Currently CD11. If cycle is similar to last 3 months then I'd be due to Ov around CD15 (so over the weekend).

We are still v much in the relaxed beginning stages of ttc. I always wanted a larger age gap for my kids so I feel I'm not in a massive rush. conceived DD on 3rd cycle I think, but we were not too active in trying and I wasn't tracking anything.

TBH, after a very traumatic first birth (which has left me with some ongoing issues and conditions) I'm quite scared about trying and having another baby in case my body literally falls apart this time! However, I know in my heart that I want DD to have a sibling and that I want to do it all again just one last time. So... here I am!

So hard not to get hopes up. It's a squinter but possibly there!

I haven't tested but will test tomorrow if AF doesn't come today. I can't be sure of ovulation because I don't temp and I'm not 100% certain on length of luteal phase. (Think 12 or 13 days). Today would be day 13 of phase if I ovulated 24 hours after positivr opk. X

@Lnix I edited it a bit too and it looks a bit clearer. DH convinced me not to take another test until Ovia app tells me to, which is tomorrow so I guess we’ll see then. Trying now to get my hopes up. How are you? Any sign?

I caved and took a frer this morning. I’m 10dpo and I see the faintest line, it doesn’t come up very good pictures. What do you guys think? Am I imagining it? I know it’s early.

@Emelene @CeceJo breastfeeding for 26 months and we're still going strong.

I did get pregnant with my twins whilst breastfeeding my lb, whilst pregnant he was pretty much self weaned, but then my milk came back in when my body thought I'd had 2 babies, so he's living his best life and back on the boobs. That was one of the hardest parts of my miscarriage, knowing that the milk was meant for my girls. Sad

@Beesly so frustrating I feel like it is this magical 24 hours of ovulation which could be any day between 15-20 for me then have to wait c. six months until a period!
