Despite my TTC last month, it resulted in my AF arriving Christmas Day (deep joy!) it's round 2 this month! I'm due to ovulate on Monday (6th) so anyone else wanna join me, with the overthinking, being excessively paranoid, mystery pregnancy signs and taking PT's when you know you shouldn't be! 🤣🤣
Feel free to jump on the crazy train with me!

A bit of a topic change but I'm currently tracking my BBT on a chart (using Kindara). Does anyone know when you mark your temp shift? I know there's a drop before/on (?) ovulation and then a rise for a few days? Is this fright?

Ginge35 · 21/01/2020 15:00

Oh god don't say that @Goldie0109 I hope not! That means mine could be too! 😩😩😩 if I get to next week I'm going to say I'm in the clear with the chemical pregnancy and see what happens and keep my fingers crossed for the next 10 weeks until I get a scan!
I'm not telling a soul yet. Just me DH know for now. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up 😬😬😬

Wow, so exciting! Huge congrats all round 😁 I can't test for another week and getting very inpatient. One minute I decide this has been a good month, have had cramping, tired, tender breasts and weirdly a bit of thrush (tmi, sorry! I usually only have if been on antibiotics) and the next minute I decide it's actually normal pre-AF routine. Flip, flop, flip, flop 🤯

Goldie0109 · 21/01/2020 13:48

My BBT has been dropping over the last 2 days so now I am worrying it will be a chemical pregnancy. I can only wait and see and cross my fingers I guess! Thanks @DustyDiva! So many BFPs on this thread it is awesome 😊 xxx

EffRam · 21/01/2020 12:39

Ginge35 · 21/01/2020 07:49

Yaaaaaaassssss @Flowerpot26 this is AMAZING NEWS!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
DH didn't believe me when I got my BFP yesterday evening so I've just taken my CB Digital and it also says 1-2 weeks!
@FarmerWantsABaby you are hilarious! That post really made me chuckle! Hey, the handstand worked for me, so one can but try! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I barely slept last night! Think I got about 3 hours in total, none of it all together! I still can't stop coughing and my brain has officially gone into overdrive! Haha!

But just wanted to tell someone 😂 xxx

FarmerWantsABaby · 20/01/2020 22:35

Ok so after getting a flashing smiley face on OB OPK CD9 I took my prenatals, my folic acid (have been since last January), we DTD this evening, used conceive plus, DH "stayed in" for 10 minutes 😂, I did a handstand. We have officially gone mad. I'll walk myself out.....

ablisha · 20/01/2020 21:22

I'm really hoping I ovulated a later than my app says I should have. I am going to use OPKs next month!

Yes definitely keep talking - you've given me hope ☺️

Ginge35 · 20/01/2020 21:18

Thank you @ablisha hopefully it was a false BFN for you! I'll keep you all updated for sure! DH has sworn me to secrecy until I get to 12 weeks! He even told me I can't tell my mom! 😳
If all goes well and this isn't a chemical then I'll be getting an early scan. There is now way I'm waiting until I'm 12 weeks! 😬😬😬
You're the only lovely ladies I can talk to for next month or so! 😬

ablisha · 20/01/2020 21:11

Am due on today but AF hasn't arrived yet. Definitely feel like it's looming - plus my BFN the other days tells me it should be!

We want to hear all the updates @Ginge35! It's all so exciting

Ginge35 · 20/01/2020 20:51

I think I'm just going to see my doctor as I'm on medication, so probably best to have a chat first about whether I need to do something about them and then go see the midwife! Fingers crossed this isn't a chemical pregnancy and if no AF by the time I go to my appointment next week I'll know for sure it's not, as I will be way past missing my AF!
You ladies are so helpful! 🥰🥰🥰
How's everyone else doing?

Gastonimo · 20/01/2020 20:50

Huge congratulations @Ginge35.

I phoned my doctors and they said just pop in and fill out a midwife referral form. So I did that on Friday and she said the midwife doesn't even come in to collect them until Wednesday. She did get the doctor to call me that afternoon as I'm on thyroxine for hypothyroidism and I had gestational diabetes last time round so just wanted to know if I had to change my meds.

Last time I paid for a private scan at 8 weeks, they couldn't see properly through tummy so had to have internal scan. It did put my mind at rest but I'm not planning to have one this time.

BecauseReasons · 20/01/2020 20:29

Do ask the receptionist what the protocol is when you call up tomorrow, Ginge just in case it's different where you are. I expected the same sort of thing as you my first time too because of all the American TV and films, I think. In America they do scan much earlier and more frequently and they do confirm pregnancy at the doctor's I think. It's probably best to check what they do in your area first. In many places the GP receptionist just gives you the midwife's number and you book in yourself.

newmum2020 · 20/01/2020 20:10

@Ginge35 if you want some peace of mind you can book a private scan for around £60 (from around 7-8 weeks though so still a bit of a wait) but EPU won't normally scan before 12 wks unless you have concerns. I guess that's the worst bit about knowing so early 😣

Ginge35 · 20/01/2020 19:59

Thank you ladies. I'll call tomorrow and I'll just cancel my doctors appointment. I had no idea you don't go and see a doctor. I just thought you went, they did a test and book you in for a scan. Can you not get an earlier scan than 12 weeks then? That's scary! How are supposed to know everything is ok for the first 12 weeks? 😳

OP posts:
BecauseReasons · 20/01/2020 19:44

Unless you think there is a problem no one generally sees you about anything pregnancy-related until the booking in appointment, which you can book as soon as you've had a positive pregnancy test, but which will actually take place between 8-10 weeks. It felt fairly anticlimactic to me- finally got a positive test and no one medical seemed to care! I do understand why they do it the way they do though.

BecauseReasons · 20/01/2020 19:42

I thought you would see your doctor and they would send off the request for your initial 6 week scan? No?????

In the UK you don't get a six week scan. You have a booking in appointment at between 8 and 10 weeks and at the appointment the midwife does blood tests and starts the process to get your 12 week scan booked in.

newmum2020 · 20/01/2020 19:38

@Ginge35 GP not interested, receptionist gave me midwife number and I called community midwife for appointment. I was expecting blood tests etc!! They basically only sent off urine sample when I asked do the surgery not confirm the pregnancy 🙄 yours might be different though!!

Congrats again 💕🤰🏻

newmum2020 · 20/01/2020 19:35

Waw so many positives now this is fantastic!! Congratulations to you all ladies!! 🥰🥰

Ginge35 · 20/01/2020 19:33

@BecauseReasons thanks for that! I'll call tomorrow and see what they say, but isn't it too early to see a midwife?

@FarmerWantsABaby if you've got a flashing smiley then don't hang about and get busy!!!! Screw the time line! 👍🏻
