Despite my TTC last month, it resulted in my AF arriving Christmas Day (deep joy!) it's round 2 this month! I'm due to ovulate on Monday (6th) so anyone else wanna join me, with the overthinking, being excessively paranoid, mystery pregnancy signs and taking PT's when you know you shouldn't be! 🤣🤣
Feel free to jump on the crazy train with me!

I work in a reasonably high risk job, so there will be certain tasks I simply cannot do, so feel it would be safer to tell work and colleagues before 12 weeks, is this the done thing?

Yes, you tell the HR/ the people responsible for risk assessments immediately so that one can be done.

debbs77 · 04/01/2020 15:55

The menstrual cup is a brilliant idea! I don't have one but would if I did!

I've crazy tingly boobs but I've learnt the hard way NOT to read my body signs. So not getting too excited

Geauxtigers · 04/01/2020 15:41

I read that inserting a menstrual cup right after the deed can help keep the sperm closer to the cervix for longer and it hasn't been poo-pooed as rubbish by doctors so I've been popping mine up afterward and keeping it in overnight! 🙈 Feel like a crazy person and this is only my first cycle ttc!

FarmerWantsABaby · 04/01/2020 13:27

@debbs77 yes I have heard zinc too 🤔 I’ve been taking folic acid since I came off the pill but I might look into zinc.
Just had another baby announcement from a close friend today. It’s tough trying to show how happy you are for someone when you’re just so sad for yourself!
A few twinges on my left side today, a slight sting if there is any pressure eg if I sneeze. I’m deliberating whether this is ovulation or not! My app says I’m due to ovulate this week at some stage.

sojo44 · 04/01/2020 12:17

Hi ladies, sending baby dust to everyone! Come on 2020!!

I'm CD 21, either 4 days DPO (based on OPK) or due to ovulate in 1.5 weeks (based on cycle length) 😂 trying to temp this cycle and the OPK could be correct for once, who knows 🤷‍♀️ so just waiting and seeing.

I've got abnormally sensitive and hard nips this cycle though, does anyone get this after OV? It's becoming a running joke with DH now. Maybe it means I've actually ovulated (rather than trying to OV unsuccessfully) and the progesterone hormones have actually kicked in for once.

debbs77 · 04/01/2020 12:10

Not sure which are the best vitamins to take but zinc was recommended for both me and my partner,to improve sperm and egg quality and production

Maidmummy · 04/01/2020 11:32

All those doing the gender ring test how about when we do get pregnant we come back to this thread and update if it's right or not x

Hopefully not as I'm predicted twin boys next 😂 x

FarmerWantsABaby · 04/01/2020 10:59

So I was told by a friend that taking Co Enzyme Q10 and VitalDHA for pre-conception might increase chances of conception? I don’t know the truth in this however I did do some research (ie Google because I’m clearly so medically informed) and they have good reviews? Anyone else ever heard of these?

Why1stheskyblu3 · 04/01/2020 10:32

Reading this has made me feel so much more sane! Smile
Been on various hormonal contraceptives for the last 20 years, had to come off everything due to some health problems (all resolved now) and myself and OH have decided to TTC for 2 years (I am 33) and hope we are successful.
I was one that also thought it would be simple 🙈😂 symptom spotting and an addiction to POAS all underway here!
Also seem to can't help but jumping the gun and worrying about future issues, how early do you tell people? I work in a reasonably high risk job, so there will be certain tasks I simply cannot do, so feel it would be safer to tell work and colleagues before 12 weeks, is this the done thing?
All rather exciting and just trying to enjoy the experience!

MrsD1990 · 04/01/2020 10:04

Really good to hear everyone's approaches. I'm new to this and not planning on buying opks just DTD every other day so good to hear others are doing the same.

Right now I have a horrible cold and af is here (should be done in next few days). Can't wait to be healthy and af to finish so I can get back to DTD.

Maidmummy · 04/01/2020 07:49

Anyway how's everyone getting on this morning. I'm seriously confused I should be 3dpo but last night I had some major pain right around both ovaries so I'm now thinking was the egg released last night 🤔 and I'm now 1dpo either way we DTD just in case 😂 and it would tie in with the O spotting I had Cd15 and 16 that 24 hours later I'm in pain but I suppose time will tell hopefully x

Maidmummy · 04/01/2020 07:42

I'll second the opks being a waste of money just relax DTD every couple of days and hopefully that's enough, I only do opks if the relaxed approach doesn't work or I'm paranoid we aren't doing it on the right days as my O date can differ every month but it's rare I'll use them x

BecauseReasons · 04/01/2020 05:48

Good luck @Geauxtigers. I think What to Expect has a pre-conception section at the front- maybe get him to read that?

BecauseReasons · 04/01/2020 05:41

I’m wondering if it is any benefit to me to take a CB OPK every day? Or around the days my app (Apple Health) predicts my ovulation?

I'm no expert, but when I came off the pill I just DTD literally every other day at minimum. If you can do that there's no need to waste your money on OPKs because you'll do it at the right time anyway.

Geauxtigers · 04/01/2020 04:21

I'm 31 and DP 30 and we are ttc for first time. Cycles usually around 29-31 days and don't give me too much hassle. Had period on Xmas day and started ttc on New Year's Day.
Went on the pill at 16 for my skin and my mental health reacted so badly I swore I wouldn't use chemicals to alter my fertility so have always used condoms so luckily know my cycle and natural body rhythms quite well.
My ovulation day should be some time between 10th to 12th Jan so DTD every other day until 9th and then every day until 14th then back to every other until the 16th or so! 😂 DP has no clue about it all- today he asked me where the wee comes out! 😂🤔🙄

FarmerWantsABaby · 04/01/2020 02:54

The big 3am-er is back! Just bought some CB OPK (advanced). As a serial POAS candidate with an irregular cycle (coming off the pill after 10 years and still have not regulated since October) I have no idea when I’m due to ovulate. AF has come 2, 3, even 5 weeks late! I’m wondering if it is any benefit to me to take a CB OPK every day? Or around the days my app (Apple Health) predicts my ovulation?
I said I’d calm down this month. I lied. 🤥

BecauseReasons · 03/01/2020 23:23

It's easy to be impatient- it's an exciting time! When can you test next? I'm limiting myself to one a month because I've got no clue whether I'm even ovulating yet. Then again, I got pregnant straight off the pill last time without having had a period in about half a decade, so you never know when it'll happen.

Ginge35 · 03/01/2020 23:06

Of course @BecauseReasons everyone is welcome here!
At least you already have a DC, I'm still hoping I get just one, but to be honest I sent myself mental last month, so I'm trying to be more relaxed this time round, but I know my brain will take over and I'll be at Boots within a week buying more pregnancy tests, as I will have already used the ones I have 🤪🤪🤪
I think I need help! 😝

OP posts:
BecauseReasons · 03/01/2020 22:51

I know @Ginge35. I don't place any stock in them but it'd be nice if they worked the same for me as for everyone else. Anyway, hi everyone, waves.

I'm sort of TTC but not massively- not doing OPKs or even DTD much more often than usual, just waiting to see what happens I guess. The first time we did this I was pregnant on the first cycle but I think it'll take much longer this time because I'm still breastfeeding and my periods haven't returned yet. Thought I'd hang out here for a bit and cheer you lot on though if that's OK?

Ginge35 · 03/01/2020 22:41

Don't worry @BecauseReasons it's only a bit of fun! I told my DH about it and he looked at me like I'm mad! 🤪🤪🤪

OP posts:
BecauseReasons · 03/01/2020 22:04

@Ginge35 sorry- that ring one. That everyone says gives the same answer every time. Doesn't work for me.

Ginge35 · 03/01/2020 21:25

@dustydiva if you had similar symptoms with your first then you never know!!!! Eeeeekkkkk!!!! 😁😁😁😁

OP posts:
Ginge35 · 03/01/2020 21:24

@BecauseReasons which tests are you referring to?

OP posts:
BecauseReasons · 03/01/2020 21:11

Am I doing this test thing wrong? I get a totally different answer every time! Sad

DustyDiva · 03/01/2020 21:09

Sorry typos!! Had a BFP at 10dpo with my son
