Despite my TTC last month, it resulted in my AF arriving Christmas Day (deep joy!) it's round 2 this month! I'm due to ovulate on Monday (6th) so anyone else wanna join me, with the overthinking, being excessively paranoid, mystery pregnancy signs and taking PT's when you know you shouldn't be! 🤣🤣
Feel free to jump on the crazy train with me!

@Ginge35 I have told no one. Don't want people asking or expecting "the news". We are already tortured as it is. My sis-in-law is always making jibes about us having a baby and making jokes about how we need to hurry up etc. It has got so bad that DH is very close to speaking to her about it. Most people don't mean any harm but I really don't know how in this day and age people still think it's appropriate to ask people about babies??

Ginge35 · 10/01/2020 20:34

There are literally 3 people in my life that know me and DH are TTC. I don't want the pressure of everyone symptom checking me, when I have enough of doing that to myself.
I've never wanted children so I don't get the hints dropped by anyone. Not even my mom knows and she is my best friend!
I think the less people know the better! Keeps the stress away from me and I can just concentrate on TTC!
So now I'm 3DPO and hopefully the symptoms will be real this month and not imaginary! 😂😂

@newmum2020 I’m sure it’s hard for you when your sister in law is having a baby. My best friend is expecting and she is on baby cloud 9 at the minute. I’m delighted for her but incredibly jealous. my mum is also throwing hints and suggestions towards me all the time (We married 2 years ago) and its starting to really get to me!
I think we are all learning new things about our bodies every day! I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but I’m a good bluffer haha

newmum2020 · 10/01/2020 20:12

Is anyone else testing a new version of this app?? I can't see anything different 🤔

newmum2020 · 10/01/2020 20:09

I bet you are an expert on the period chat @FarmerWantsABaby it's shameful to say that I've learned some things about my body in last few weeks that I should have known at my age!!

newmum2020 · 10/01/2020 20:08

@FarmerWantsABaby I know, it's just hard to read the cold hard facts like that😕My sis in law goes in to hospital tomorrow to be induced and she's 42, she's had two kids after 40 but I'm convincing myself I'm one of the unlucky ones 🙄

FarmerWantsABaby · 10/01/2020 20:06

@newmum2020 plenty of women become mums at 40 and beyond! Don’t give up hope!!
I had a very ironic day today, I teach Primary 7 and had “the period talk” with the girls 😂

LV1987 · 10/01/2020 20:05

@BecauseReasons thank you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth transition, as (I think like a few others in this thread!) at 32 nearly 33, I feel like one of the older first timers around Grin

I last came off the pill about 7 years ago, and it took a good 4 months for my period to return. I'm really hoping it happens quicker this time, fingers crossed

newmum2020 · 10/01/2020 20:04

@FarmerWantsABaby I was reading up on conceive plus earlier and on their site there was a great video about fertilisation (well I found it really interesting, it went into lots of detail!)

I then went on to read about how many eggs a woman has by the age of 40 (I'll be 40 in March and TTC first) and it just made me sad as I only have 3% of my eggs left and apparently only 5% of women over 40 conceive (if I read it right) so it has made me feel very negative today 😢I wish I hadn't read it

How's everyone else? X

FarmerWantsABaby · 10/01/2020 19:58

Happy weekend is right @Ginge35! I was feeling crappy today so no gym or socialising for me this weekend. Day 2 of flashing smiley face on CB OPK.
Sitting up with a mini cheeseboard for myself 🧀 researching conceive plus!
What’s everyone’s updates today?

BecauseReasons · 10/01/2020 19:36

@LV1987

Welcome. My midwife last time around said it was really quite common for people to conceive first try when coming off the pill (she said people either tend to get it first time or it takes quite a few months with not much middle ground). Mine was first time last time but it took quite a while to ovulate- got a BFP 7 weeks after the final pill with no bleeding in between. Good luck to you!

LV1987 · 10/01/2020 19:25

Hi! I'm new... Been lurking for a little while, and now ready to join in :)

I took my last pill early December and am now just hanging about waiting to see what happens next! If I was lucky enough to head straight back to a 28 day cycle, then I'm a day late... I'm intending to test next week if it's a no show by then. Trying to stay relaxed about it as I've been on the pill for years now, so it seems very unlikely that I'll have a normal cycle first time. We shall see!

Good luck everyone x

Ginge35 · 10/01/2020 18:01

Happy weekend ladies! Anybody got a BFP or testing over the weekend! I've 10 days and counting!! 😂

@Gastonimo we actually got pregnant last time with conceive plus too! Will crack that out if we aren't lucky this month. Good luck!

newmum2020 · 10/01/2020 09:42

@Gastonimo interesting about the lube, I'm thinking I'll try that if I'm not lucky this cycle! I have a couple of cheap tests in my bedside drawer but at the earliest I am waiting til next weekend when I'll be 11/12 DPO. I looked back through my fitbit fertility tracker app and noticed that when i was pregnant before MC in November I logged sore breasts as a symptom at 5DPO so clearly I think that's why I'm desperately waiting on the sore boobs to kick in!! It was my earliest symptom last time but I did have a bit of the metallic taste in mouth and some spots on chin too (I have had spots for a day or two now but I'm trying not to read anything into that as it's way too early!!)

Gastonimo · 09/01/2020 23:31

Been watching this thread but yet to contribute.

Trying for second child and this is first cycle properly trying and looking at ovulation. I got obsessed last time round and it took about 6 months so this time trying to be a bit more relaxed. DTD a couple of times in my ovulation window and now have 4 days before I can do a test. Making myself wait as last time I kept testing way too early.

When I fell pregnant last time I had just started using conceive plus lube (read the Amazon reviews people swear by it) and bang that cycle i got pregnant. So have used it this time round.

My boobs feel like they've got hard lumps in, I breastfed in the past and feels abit like that. Hoping it's a sign and that I'm not imagining it.

Baby dust to you all x

Ginge35 · 09/01/2020 22:34

Thanks @ablisha it's just frustrating when people just get pregnant by accident and we are all here trying every trick in the book and still nothing! Hopefully this is all our month for the BFP but I just have a gut feeling it's just not going to happen for us! At all! 😭
I think my crazy is overtaking the logical side of my brain so I'm going to stop googling everything and go to bed! 🤪
Baby dust to you all ladies ❤️

Hi ladies
Lovely to read all your symptoms spotting posts... baby dust to all!! X
I'm 9dpo and all my symptoms have disappeared. I know I still have a few days and af due Tuesday 14 th although with PCOS I may not get it if I didn't ovulate.

ablisha · 09/01/2020 22:26

It only takes the one time @Ginge35 and sperm lasts up to 5-7 in the woman's body Smile fingers are all crossed for you x

Ginge35 · 09/01/2020 22:18

Evening ladies! Just a question! My fertile days were 4-9 January and got my LH surge yesterday. DH isn't too well and I've worn him out cus he's not been well, but we only DTD Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Is that enough? We are in our mid-late 30's so can't be at it like rabbits like we used to in our 20's, but I just feel it wasn't enough.
Just having a paranoid moment (already 🤪) given that nothing happened last month either for us!
I just want to get pregnant and enjoy the journey instead of feeling like something is wrong with me!
I understand it's harder after 35 to conceive but I'm healthy so I don't see why it should be such an issue!
Just feel sad 😔

FarmerWantsABaby · 09/01/2020 22:14

@Ginge35 thanks! Made sure we DTD today, OH is working away from home from tomorrow until Sunday 🙄 super timing. Might have to wake up early before he leaves tomorrow for another go 😂
I agree with @HighlandMam1 and @Ginge35 it’s so shocking that we want to be suffering for a confirmation of pregnancy.
Can’t believe I spent so many years trying to avoid it. Literally there were times I was praying at night during my uni years asking the powers that be to spare me 🙈

ablisha · 09/01/2020 20:03

@newmum2020 GrinI am glad I'm not the only one doing this!!

EffRam · 09/01/2020 19:43

@Ginge35 I didn't until I got pregnant and mentioned it to my sister and she said oh yeah they happened to me too! And midwife said it's fairly common.

Ginge35 · 09/01/2020 19:37

@FarmerWantsABaby just once a day first in the morning is fine. Save your sticks! They are expensive!
Last month I had two days flashing smiley and this month it was 4 days, so just test once a day and once you get a solid smiley you don't need to test again until next cycle. Hopefully you won't have another cycle and you will get a BFP instead!
@EffRam I didn't know bleeding/sore gums were a sign?
Ever since I've been in this sight I've realised I'm so uneducated on pregnancy! Probably because I've always avoided it! 😝

FarmerWantsABaby · 09/01/2020 19:32

How often would you ladies recommend doing CB OPK once you get a flashing smiley? I’ve read about and a lot of people recommend twice a day. Also seen that some women have said they get flashing smiley faces for 7-11 days in a row at times. I don’t think I could mentally cope with that lol
I have an awful cold at the minute so I’m not going to overthink symptoms, I feel like poop 💩
