TTC Baby #2 - Month One

mummyliz18 · 30/12/2019 22:34

Hello

My little boy has just turned one and we have decided to start trying for baby #2

I'm still breastfeeding and had my first postpartum period mid December.

I will be testing mid January (13th)

Anyone else in a similar boat? 🙂

I got a BFN at 14DPO this morning. Sad My AF is meant to arrive today but it has been irregular. Feeling a bit sad and just want AF to come so I can crack on to next month (and have the fruit cider I've got waiting in the fridge!)

mummyliz18 · 18/01/2020 08:04

Yep... I've been doing cheap internet tests and have just done a clear blue digital as I had it here and it's a clear old Not Pregnant ... I just don't know where I am ....

I'm ready for Month 2. AF has hit full force. Sad

Merrz · 17/01/2020 08:52

Hi guys, can i join? Been lurking for a few days, determined not to get over run by the madness of ttc but here i am again Blush
DD has just turned one, would be happy with a 2-3 year age gap so not desperately ttc at the moment but took us a year to conceive 1st time and i'm terrified it will take longer this time. I'm 32, DH is about to turn 40. Fx for lots of BFP's!

ToTheRegimentIWishIWasThere · 16/01/2020 18:58

7DPO here. No clue either way at present, all symptoms could be period or pregnant. So very much wait and see, annoyingly.

Although thw worst bit is definitely going to be getting the BFN in a week and then having to wait another week to actually come on and start a new cycle.

Have you retested since CD30 Liz ?

mummyliz18 · 16/01/2020 18:42

Now day 32... no signs of period... 🤷🏻‍♀️ hows everyone else?

@tabbycat985 Sorry to hear you're out. Xx

Yes that was our thinking too - already very tired so let's just crack on! Grin

tabbycat985 · 14/01/2020 23:02

I'm out for this month😓
Gutted as DH is working away next FW & we've already discussed not trying during March/April as DH is a Christmas baby & hates it.

@emelene My 1yo doesn't sleep ever, the way I'm looking at it is if I'm already not sleeping, a newborn isn't going to make a difference😂

JoesM12 · 14/01/2020 20:22

Hi all!
Hope it’s okay for me to join.
We are TTC baby #2. I’m 24, We got married in October so this is our 3rd cycle. Our DD was 3 in December so we would be over the moon to have another one before she turned 4!
My first pregnancy was a total surprise, I was on the pill 🙈 so I have no idea how my body reacts to actively ttc.
I’m currently on CD18 and got my positive opk yesterday morning! Keeping my fingers crossed this is our month!
Sending lots of baby’s vibes to you all ❤️❤️

mummyliz18 · 14/01/2020 20:11

I'm CD 30... I've no idea what my cycles are like because my last period was my first one post partum ... prior to a bleed 16th - 20th December my last period was February 2018 😬... I've been testing like a mad woman so slowed down and now am thinking I'll leave it a couple of days as they were all negative...

I've got a head cold and big headaches which I had last pregnancy but I think actually these are because I've returned to work and am sat in an office full off ill people staring at a screen all day...

But until my period arrives I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed!

Ejb86 I am so sorry for your loss, there aren't words Flowers

ToTheRegimentIWishIWasThere · 14/01/2020 10:18

Morning everyone! Can I jump in? I'm Reg, TTC #2. My DS is 3.2 and this is our first cycle trying after a long break Grin I knew I wanted a bigger age gap but now it's here I'm worrying I should have started earlier.

I have really long cycles anything up to 47 days which is frustrating. I'm 33, he's 41 and convinced he has super sperm.

Fertile week was last week, I'm on CD 31. official testing day will be Monday 27th unless AF had already arrived.

I use OPKs but I have a very up/down luteal phase so I'm never actually sure if/when I ovulate, again, awesome for baby making! Have ordered bulk OPKs, have set my Ovia to TTC and downloaded another app called premom which I'm impressed with so far, would recommend Grin.

How is everyone feeling today?

Plaw · 14/01/2020 10:09

How is everyone?

Needallthesleep · 10/01/2020 22:27

@mummyliz18 only my standard imaginary symptoms that I get every month. I’m 9 dpo and not expecting anything this round. Will be on it next month!

Needallthesleep · 10/01/2020 22:25

@Emelene yes all the time. We are so happy at the moment I worry about disrupting it. And with one I can still be me. I worry I wouldn’t with a second.

But I think I’ll regret it if I don’t give it a good go. If we don’t have a second I can see a really happy life as a three.

Emelene · 10/01/2020 21:58

I'm only CD20 but I have the worst cramps. Sad Not sure what's going on with my cycle but I'm not hopeful!

Does anyone else second guess their decision to TTC? My mum made a throw away comment about me being broody and I shouldn't have another baby for a while (because my 1 year old doesn't sleep through Hmm) but I've had a super stressful week and sometimes I'm not sure how I'd manage a second. Confused But then at other times I know I really want one!

Ejb86 · 09/01/2020 22:19

@mummyliz18

Crazy dreams were a symptom in both of my previous pregnancies. Had some bizarre ones last night. I also feel cold when pregnant. I'm currently sat wrapped up in bed socks and dressing gown, where normally pjs will do.

mummyliz18 · 09/01/2020 21:44

Any symptoms? Any luck?

I tested this morning, knowing it's too early 🙄 I have so little patience

We are about to go into cycle six of ttc #2. I have a feeling that I ovulate later than my app predicts so been trying to have sex every other day to be safe but of course my husband decides he is too tired tonight so I am irrationally fuming. Dd is one next month and when we conceived her we weren't trying or preventing so there was none of this stress involved. now as the months slip past and the age gap gets greater I get more and more stressed!

Currently on CD 30 (cycles are around 38 days apart from last month which was cruelly 47Sad)

Wiggleyfingers · 04/01/2020 22:33

Hey, we are on month 2 of ttc our second. Dd is 21 months old and we were one of the lucky ones who managed to concieve first cycle last time. Keeping everything crossed we will be lucky again soon!
Currently on cd11, vaguely hoping to follow the smep but not sure we have the stamina 🙈

Plaw · 04/01/2020 22:18

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls omg I’m the same, as soon as you think, you are trying, you straight away feel like you are gonna fail! Fingers crossed we all won’t be trying too long

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 04/01/2020 09:46

@Ejb86 logically I know that as DD was a total accident Blush but in my head it's like "you're actually trying for a baby now so it's going to take ages" Grin

Ejb86 · 04/01/2020 06:20

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls I've been pregnant twice after only dtd once. It happens!

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 03/01/2020 22:11

Also TTC #2 in cycle 1 here.I'm 25 and have a DD who'll be 6 in April. Due to test around the 11th Jan but only dtd once this month through illness etc so I doubt anything will come of it!

mummyliz18 · 03/01/2020 21:27

I've read about the different fertility girls and using OPKs etc ... last time I just tracked my cylcle on the clue app and also was aware of changes to discharge around ovulation time.

I've followed those signs this time too and hopefully managed to time things right - the waiting is so hard isn't it!

I have a brother who is 20 months older than me and have always wanted 2 children close in age - I've just had my first post partum period so thought we'd begin trying and see what happens as we'd be happy to conceive anytime from now but realise it might take some time ☺️
