TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

@toomanyleggings so sorry, can’t imagine how you’re feeling or what’s going through your mind at the moment. It’s rubbish you’re not getting any answers to help you understand. I don’t know if it would be any help, but I’ve emails the midwives at Tommy’s after my MMC to ask questions that I didn’t think of in the hospital or anything I wasn’t sure of after. They were great and supportive and gave me some answers. But they might be able to give you more information or support?

@AlviesMam 🤞🏻 For your test tomorrow. Got everything crossed for a BFP for you

ChampooPapi · 21/01/2020 19:20

@AlviesMam maybe book a blood test in the morning with the doctors as that will take a week to sort out and you can always cancel if you get your bfp or your period shows up. I was getting negatives even a week late with my last pregnancy so it definitely very possible it may be negative. Or could be the strongest positive you've ever seen! Stiff drink then bed I reckon lovely 💜

AlviesMam · 21/01/2020 19:16

@ChampooPapi

Thank you for that lovely message.
I will test tomorrow morning and let you guys know!

❤️❤️❤️❤️

ChampooPapi · 21/01/2020 19:14

@AlviesMam you have to test tomorrow morning surly! You need to do it, even if it's negative after what your body has been through it could still be a possibility that you are pregnant because your cycles are not going to be the same each month and ovulation will change within that.

Honestly out of everyone including myself, I want you to get the positive test and to hold your baby in 2020, you have been though so much heartache, pain and grief. I have been willing this since you came on this thread woman!

Test tomorrow and we can just hope and pray and send all our love and support your way 🤞💘🌈✨👣

AlviesMam · 21/01/2020 19:13

@Annie0425
Thank you- I will definitely test tomorrow morning. I'm so scared xxx

Annie0425 · 21/01/2020 19:10

Hi @AlviesMam some of the symptoms could be pregnancy symptoms... when I got pregnant last time I had period like cramps from the the time I usually get it before my period- 3-4 days before it’s due. So I was pretty sure AF was about to come. But I went past my due date and still had cramps on and off. I didn’t test until I was 10 days late as i do get long cycles sometimes and because of the on and off cramps I was sure AF would show any day. But when I tested finally I got a very strong bfp...so af like cramps can also mean pregnancy. Best to test it. Why don’t you test tomorrow morning? Good luck and hope you get your bfp🤞

AlviesMam · 21/01/2020 18:45

Hi all
I was due on today and I'm never late.
Scared to test. Might test tomorrow.

Symptoms:
'Feeling like I'm going to come on' - but not a strong AF feeling, just keep having the urge to check.

Vivid dreams

Twinges in stomach and left ovary area

Lower back ache

Burping and having some wind!!

Very slight nausea

I was convinced I was going to come on but still no sign, actually thought it was it this month....

Do I have a chance?! I'm scared these feelings are psychological.

My still birth was in October and I've had two periods since one was 28 days one was 27 and I'm always 28 days no later.

Xx

mlax · 21/01/2020 18:07

Just taken another hpt, negative. Hopefully my AF comes tomorrow as I'm getting so impatient. Just want it to be over with so I can keep trying!!!

toomanyleggings · 21/01/2020 17:57

Ugh I don't know what to think. I've just been to the gp and asked if the results were back from my miscarriage. They sent the baby and the pregnancy tissue off to be tested. She said it said something about blood clotting and to test in 6 weeks for ashermans syndrome, she didn't seem to know what the results really meant, I've looked up ashermans and you can have miscarriages and still borns if it's not treated. I feel like we can't try again now until I know what's wrong. Also feel awful that I might have had a healthy baby and my stupid body hurt it

BecsterG · 21/01/2020 16:36

@Anny27 I used these too. You can have flashing faces for quite a few says before you get your static face so don't worry. I think I once had 5 and was like am I ever getting my peak. Ha ha this time I use the slightly cheaper ones from clear blue which are also good. 👍🏻 Good luck x

toomanyleggings · 21/01/2020 15:40

@Anny27 they're really good. I used them before I had my dd. Literally was pregnant 4 cycles one after the other ( 3 chemicals and then my daughter). They give you a flashing smiley in the 3 days before your ovulation, then a static smiley just before ovulation so it gives you that 4-5 day window

Anny27 · 21/01/2020 15:25

@toomanyleggings I have never used those before - does that mean ovulation soon? :D

toomanyleggings · 21/01/2020 11:47

@mlax Could be implantation. Fingers crossed for you!

toomanyleggings · 21/01/2020 11:23

The uncertainty is so crap ladies. Dreading my 2ww. Flashing smiley this morning. Think I can trust this because pregnancy tests definitely negative. Not a great day though. Got to go have a tooth extracted

@MilsCookie AF due on the 28th. Last time I got a faint BFP 2 days before AF was due so will try and wait until then to test this time. Your symptoms sound positive too. When are you due AF? And when are you planning to test?

mlax · 21/01/2020 11:14

@Anny27 I hope it's not for you either! I'm currently 6 days late!!

Before my MC my AF's were on time not light spotting! I wasn't heavy for my 1st AF either so finding this all so unusual x

Anny27 · 21/01/2020 11:12

@mlax just had the same!!! Like a pinky/ brown CM.....at 9dpo!! Never spotted that early before.

Really hope it's not AF!!!

mlax · 21/01/2020 11:07

I've just been to the toilet and wiped, and I've had a very light pink blood come away. I'd attach a photo but I think that's going a bit too far ha!

Absolutely nothing in my knickers though ..!?

MilsCookie · 21/01/2020 10:15

@StephyRose and @Cruiser1 that’s so rubbish for you both. I’m so sorry 😔 sending you both HUGE hugs 😘😘😘

Sounds promising @GemLou88 when is AF due?

@Anny27 nothing too noticeable...still having random pains in my uterus and this morning I’ve had a LOT of cm. Had to run to the bathroom to wipe 😬 it was sort of milky/creamy lotion like. Can’t remember if I used to get that before AF was due 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also have a headache right now 🙄. I’m on CD27...will I ever get to next week! How about you?

ChampooPapi · 21/01/2020 08:49

@mlax yes I had to go to the doctors for a blood test because I was ten days late and negative tests. They confirmed I was pregnant so there is definitely hope! Cd26 here, due Tuesday so one more week of waiting/hell 😆🤞🙏🌈

FireflyGirl · 21/01/2020 08:39

@mlax it could be if you ovulated late.

Also, I don't want to give you false hope, but I didn't test positive with DS until I was nearly a week late. I feel for you, being in limbo like this!

Congratulations, @didslysquiddlydoo Flowers

I have to set off for school now, I'll catch up with everyone else later xx

GemLou88 · 21/01/2020 08:04

Congratulations @didslysquiddlydoo. Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy.

@Cruiser1 and @StephyRose sorry to hear your news. Sending you both lots of love and hope February is your month.

I have no idea what DPO I am on, if I ovulated at all. But since Saturday I’ve had a stretching/crampy feeling low down, back ache, coming down with a cold, CM is constant wet (sorry TMI), reflux and last night I was asleep in the sofa at 8 which isn’t like me. Maybe I’m reading too much into it all and I’m just feeling run down but I’m not keeping my hopes up with anything

Just before AF I broke out in so many spots all over my chest and back, they are starting to clear up now and I put it down to all the hormones as it was my first AF since the start of august. Has anyone else experienced anything like that?

Anny27 · 21/01/2020 07:54

Awwh @StephyRose and @Cruiser1 I am so sorry if it is a chemical:( have either ot you retested this morning? Xxx

@AlviesMam hope AF stays away!!!!

@MilsCookie anymore symptoms?

I am 9dpo extremely hungry, fuller boobs and have insomnia Confused

Anyone testing today???

BecsterG · 21/01/2020 07:29

@didslysquiddlydoo congratulations! Amazing news.

@Cruiser1 @StephyRose I'm so sorry to hear your news. Can't imagine how you're feeling. @StephyRose I hope you had a nice meal out last night.

Sending lots of love and hugs. Xx

didslysquiddlydoo · 21/01/2020 07:10

I've had a strong positive this morning - AF due tomorrow and feeling cautiously optimistic.

For those experiencing chemicals - I'm so sorry, it really does suck. If it's any consolation at all I had one the last two months and was losing hope of ever having a sticky one again - but I think I'm ok this month - it might just be our bodies still recovering... fingers crossed to all still waiting to test and huge good luck wishes for those moving forward into February xxxx
