TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Period in 9 days apparently.... usually get lower back pain and feel bloated a week before. Last two times I was pregnant I had no symptoms. So no symptoms for me is usually a positive. Hoping this is the month ... 9 day count down xxxx

Oh. My. Goodness!!! @MrsB16 I totally wasn’t expecting any BFP news when I came on the thread! I am SO happy for you!!! Huge congratulations to you and your DP. And especially with your house news too it sounds like it’s all coming together!! Praying that you have a sticky bean and it all goes beautifully well for you this time around 💫🥰. It does give me so much hope to read your story and like others I’m hoping it brings good luck to us all! 🌈 what a brilliant start to 2020 for you!! Please keep us updated with how you’re getting on 🙏✨❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Welcome @didslysquiddlydoo hope you’re ok. Yep I know how you feel, hardly anyone I know has asked me how I am since it all happened! I think a lot of people can’t understand it unless they’ve been through it themselves unfortunately.

@DisneyMummySince2010 if you’re only on CD18 then it can’t be AF surely? Don’t rule yourself out just yet! I’m also on CD18 today and don’t even think I’ve ovulated yet 🙈 f*ck knows what’s going on with my body!!

@toomanyleggings that must be hard hearing your DP say that. Do you have any other children or would this be your first?

@Sparkl I never used to spot before AF but the first one I had post MC I spotted for a whole day before coming on properly. I have read that you should count any bleeding as CD1 so that’s what I did. How many periods have you had since MC? It might be worth going to the doctor to discuss it and get their thoughts? Hope you’re ok though, it must be a bit worrying if it’s not what you’re used to 😘

@Michette this is our first cycle actively trying since the MC! Also I’m 31 in June so I’m hoping to be pregnant by then too!! 😊

Good luck @TerribleImagination and @Cruiser1 !! Keep us updated ✨😘

@Michette I gave it a good go this month, straight after the miscarriage! I didn’t use OPK’s, but going off EWCM I reckon I’m about 10 or 11DPO today. Boobs feel a bit like they did at this stage the month I conceived before, but trying not to read into it / get my hopes up! AF should be due mid next week I reckon, but I’m seeing if I can hold off testing until the end of the month if it doesn’t show 🤞🏻🙈

Anny27 · 12/01/2020 12:48

@michette I am trying this month, waited one month after my MMC and surgery I'm November!

It took us 3 cycles last time so hopefully I am lucky enough for a first cycle bfp this time......🤞🤞🤞🤞

Michette · 12/01/2020 12:41

Out of curiosity since we have the first BFP,
How many ladies on this thread TTC post MC this month?????

Michette · 12/01/2020 12:40

@BS9790 i am feeling much better today!
I guess it’s the ups and downs :)
I gave DO a present this morning and he thought it was a “im pregnant” annoucement though Confused
I wish, i wish...

Much more positive today to just go with the flow.
6dpo - 0 symptoms but probably normal :)

Such good news @MrsB16 ! Gives me hope and definitely share the excitement !

@toomanyleggings my DP also said if we lose this one too we take at least one cycle break to let it chill... so “no pressure”.

We have a sort of deadline for relocation projects and it’s my birthday (31) in May so really hope i am pregnant by then :)

Good luck to everyone else in the TWW for whom days feel like centuries
Smile

Ejb86 · 12/01/2020 12:15

@MrsB16 congatu-blooming-ations! Let's hope this is the beginning of all of our luck changing.

@Cruiser1 TWW is killing me too. The dreams keep coming. Don't want to get my hopes up at all though. Hubby says I probably am pregnant, seeing as we've had sex 4 or 5 times recently whereas previous BFPs came after just 1 dtd. Just can't allow myself to get too excited.

Cruiser1 · 12/01/2020 11:49

Oh my goodness @MrsB16 I’m thrilled for you 🥰🥰 how amazing

@didslysquiddlydoo yes 100% no one has asked me how I am coping except for one of my closest friends and my husband
In fairness I don’t like to be constantly asked so not sure if I’m happy about it or disappointed that no one cares! It was the same after my first MC I felt like everyone brushed it off - ah sure it was only 6 weeks and that kind of thing 😏

Cruiser1 · 12/01/2020 11:39

Hi Ladies, I have missed loads here as haven’t been on the last 2 days.
I am on day 23 but it’s post miscarriage so Iv no idea where I am really. Iv had more positives than negatives on the OPKs so that’s not too reliable either.

Anyways..... symptom spotting;
My boobs partially the nips are sooooo sore the last 2 days. Slightly more tired I think. Some nausea but mild

Head is wrecked already and at least another week of this 😫

Sparkl · 12/01/2020 11:28

Congratulations @MrsB16 what a great start to the year!

@toomanyleggings I hear you, definitely going to be anxious, although that sounds like a lot of extra pressure.

Was wondering if any of you know anything about spotting before AF? I’ve had a very tiny amount before last two AFs, only on toilet paper iykwim. (AF was 5 days each time after that). Then this last cycle I had 5 days of spotting followed by only 3 days proper flow. Didn’t even need a liner for the 5 days. I read somewhere you should count bleeding before or after as part of AF. So is my CD1 the first day of spotting? I had always counted from first day full flow.
Also any ideas what it means? Been doing too much googling again and panicking a bit that cycle is not getting back to normal after MC.

ChampooPapi · 12/01/2020 11:19

@MilsCookie is this our threads first BFP?! This is a good way to start the next week ladies ✨👣

@MrsB16 keep us updated and also show us the test 🙏

ChampooPapi · 12/01/2020 11:16

@MrsB16 congratulations! This is the year of the rainbow for you! Absolutely brilliant ✨♥️👣🌈

GoldenBauble · 12/01/2020 11:14

@MrsB16 that is amazing! I know it can sound quite flippant sometimes in these awful situations we find ourselves in but I honestly think that sometimes things happen for a reason (as shitty as it is when we are in them!). It sounds like everything is starting to fall into place for you! Fingers, toes, everything crossed you can remain in this lovely bubble. Hopefully your good luck continues to spread across this thread now 🌈

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 11:09

Well dh has agreed to try again which is a relief to me but he says if I lose another one then we don't try anymore. Hands up who's going to be stressed as hell if they get a bfp!

DisneyMummySince2010 · 12/01/2020 10:59

@anny27 I don’t want to get my hopes up. I never used to spot before my period until the ectopic and every time since I convince myself it could be implantation and it never is. I think I might take a break from TTC it’s such emotional turmoil all the time

didslysquiddlydoo · 12/01/2020 10:10

@MrsB16 what an amazing little run of events! So happy for you and fingers crossed for a straightforward house sale and pregnancy!! Xxx

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 10:02

@MrsB16 how lovely! Lots of wishes for a sticky baby

Anny27 · 12/01/2020 09:46

Congratulations @MrsB16 :D what an amazing start to 2020!!!! Thanks for giving us all hope :)

@disneymummysince2010 as it's so early, might it be implantation bleeding??

Welcome @didslysquiddlydoo hope the tww isnt too long for you!!

MrsB16 · 12/01/2020 09:42

Hi everyone,
I’m having a very exciting but weird few days. By way of background, I live in a flat in London that has been on the market for 2 years. We put it up for sale in preparation for our plans to start a family but with the housing market bottoming out in our part of London we have never been able to sell it. It’s been a source of much anxiety and stress to me for the past few years!

Also, on Thursday someone I work with announced that she was pregnant and would have been due a few weeks after me.

After a series of failed viewings since Christmas and the news of my co-workers pregnancy, on Thursday lunchtime I was sat outside my office sobbing on the phone to my mum and husband saying that “nothing is going right for us, why can’t we just catch a break?”

Now this is where it gets spooky....

2 hours later I got a phone call from my estate agent saying they had conducted a viewing at my flat that morning. I knew nothing about the viewing which meant my flat wasn’t tidy and I even had my (clean) pants out on a clothes airer in the living room! To say I was mortified is an understatement. Anyway, the couple that viewed the flat like it so much they made an offer at the asking price their and then!! After 2 years of stress, the flat had provisionally sold! The buyers want us out in 8 weeks so we have agreed to go into rented accommodation until we can find our dream house.

Wait there’s more....

I had a miscarriage in November and am currently on cycle day 72 since the miscarriage. I haven’t had a period since and I’ve been feeling really stressed about it. Anyway, in the past few days I’ve been feeling a bit off and then suddenly remembered it was how I felt when I was pregnant last time. Yes you’ve guess it, I’ve had a BPF on a clearblue test yesterday morning! I know it’s a new pregnancy as I’ve had weeks of negative tests since the mc.

In the space of 2 days everything that has caused me so much heartache and stress has been completely flipped upside down. I was in a very dark place at Christmas and New Year with everything that had happened but vowed on NYE to try and start 2020 more positively. It then looks like we then conceived on or just before NYD! I didn’t even know I was ovulating as I had none of the tell tale signs.

I’m being cautiously optimistic about everything as I know that the flat sale could fall through and I could go onto lose this baby as well. But right now my husband and I feel like we are in this beautiful bubble where all our hopes and dreams are finally coming true 🥰🥰

Thank you to everyone who makes the thread a place of support and hope and I hope we can all continue to be on the journey towards becoming parents together x

DisneyMummySince2010 · 12/01/2020 09:33

Little update- think I’m out this month 😢 had a little spotting yesterday afternoon and again this morning. A bit of pink/brown cm when I wipe (sorry tmi)! My last three periods since ectopic have started this way. It’s only cd18 for me, so early still but I’m devastated, I really thought it might be my month.

BS9790 · 12/01/2020 09:23

Thank you @Anny27.
And @Michette, hope your feeling a bit happier today and that time starts to pass quickly for you over your TWW

Xx

didslysquiddlydoo · 11/01/2020 23:29

Hi all,

Hope it's ok to join!

Quick bit of info-
35 years old.

No Children.
Had MMC in September (ERPC), followed by CP in November and another CP in December.

Currently 3dpo 🙈

So sorry to read about everyone else's losses - so many sad stories but I'm blown away by the strength of people in this thread!!

Everything crossed for lots of BFPs for those in this thread 🤞🏼🤞🏼

As an aside - anyone else feeling a bit let down by the lack of support from people close to them? Nobody has asked me how I'm doing since the immediate aftermath of my miscarriage and I'm feeling a little disappointed 😞

Anny27 · 11/01/2020 22:37

@ChampooPapi good idea! Hope you manage to catch ovulation this weekend xx

Anny27 · 11/01/2020 22:36

@MilsCookie i usually ovulate around cycle day 14 but this month it's been cycle day 17 so shifted by a few days, perhaps post mc. My thought is that because of the operation my lining of womb was thinned so perhaps it needed an extra few days to be thick enough before my body released an egg.....I don't know I am just guessing haha

MilsCookie · 11/01/2020 22:08

Woohoo! Enjoy @FireflyGirl 😉

@mlax it’s hard to know what’s going on isn’t it! I think if it doesn’t happen this month I will buy some OPKs to see when I’m ovulating as I’m just trying to figure it out by the signs I usually get from my body! But because of the mc everything could all be out of sync so I have no idea really. All I know is that we are dtd A LOT at the moment 🙈😂

Thank you @Michette I really hope so too!
