TTC after miscarriage - January 2020

Hello all (and late Merry Christmas!)

Looking for TTC buddies in a similar situation! 👋

In September I accidentally became pregnant. We had planned to begin TTC in Jan 2020 anyway, so we were really excited. Sadly, at my 12 week scan on 25th Nov, I found out I had had a missed miscarriage and the baby had stopped growing at about 9 weeks. The week that followed was one of the most traumatic in my life, having failed medical management and then an ERPC. All this happened whilst I was in another country.

Since then my recovery has been okay but all I can think about is wanting to be pregnant again and have been hoping and praying that my period returns soon so that we can officially start trying.

This morning I have had brown discharge and cramping, so it does feel like AF is on the way. So I guess I am going to count today as CD1 of my first official TTC cycle?

I wondered if anyone had been through anything similar and if so I am so sorry for your loss and what you had to go through. It really is a horrendous time. 💐

Anyone want to join me? 💕

Yes @mlax I’m afraid to get my hopes up but the sore boobs is very unusual for me. Then I read a while back that early symptoms can mean a chemical pregnancy - not sure how true that is!
My nerves are gone!!! Wake me up in 2 weeks 😩

mlax · 13/01/2020 07:43

@StephyRose awful isn't it. The human body SUCKS!!

My AF is due either Wednesday or Thursday so very soon 😌 that's providing my cycles have gone back to every 28 days!! I hope so, the wait would kill me 😩 when are you???

@Cruiser1 feeling your pain. Sore boobs is a weird one though isn't it!!! That's usually my first sign of being pregnant but none of us want to get our hopes up ☹️

Cruiser1 · 13/01/2020 07:36

Awwww @MrsB16 I’m so delighted for you 🥰 keep us posted on progress

These sore boobs are so unusual for me it’s starting to convince me I’m pregnant which as you all know is dangerous in our position..... false hope leads to devastation if AF arrives 😔
I have prescription for progesterone to take as soon as I get a BFP as my progesterone has been very low on both miscarriages. So I’v already tested and of course BFN ..... I’m gonna year every morning until AF I think

Internet cheapies so at least it’s not costing me a fortune!

The TWW is awful

StephyRose · 13/01/2020 07:24

Ballache @mlax, love that expression!! 🤣🤣 And that is exactly what it is. I could've written the list you have just put up myself. Eugh, hate this. Stupid MC making us do this all over again!

I think I only want one baby now 👶🏼💗💙, cant be doing this again. A baby and a dog. 😋🐶

Next month for you 💗❤🤞 when is AF due?

mlax · 13/01/2020 07:17

Ahhh amazing news @MrsB16!!! 💗💗💗 congratulations!!!

I'm in the same boat as you @StephyRose, although I've taken 2 early tests now and both been negative but had so many symptoms of being pregnant and now I'm just like I have to now deal with the fact that 2 weeks before my AF, I will suffer with dizziness, lightheadedness, backache, urinating during the night and more frequently, stomach cramps, shooting pains in stomach and back, tiredness. Just a ball ache.

Roll on the next month 😌

StephyRose · 13/01/2020 07:05

Amazing news @MrsB16!! Lovely to have our first BFP ... gives us all something to look forward to. Wishing you so much love ❤

My app says AF due in 5 days so either Fri or Sat. At this current moment I'm over the TWW after having got myself in such a frenzy symptom spotting last week. I'd just like to know either way now so I can move on to next month ... it's awful isn't it? Makes you wish your life away. And I feel like I just imagined those cramps now anyway. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not sure to test or just to wait for AF. 🤔 We are staying with friends this weekend in Newcastle (other end of the country to us) and so I think it wouldn't be a good idea as if its BFN I'll be in a bad mood and we are meant to be going out on the town. Torn about what to do.

@MilsCookie hopeful for you for ovulation soon 🤞🤞 might be just around the corner now. 💗❤

@Anny27 you have made a sterling effort, well done!! 🤣🏅 let us know it you spot any symptoms. 💗❤

MrsB16 · 13/01/2020 07:01

Thank you ladies! I’m still in shock! My EDD is 23 September 2020. Digital confirmed this morning!

Everything is all happening at once so I need to find a house before I end up pregnant and homeless!

I’m over the moon though. I recently had a diagnosis of PCOS and was incredibly worried that my last pregnancy was just a fluke but the very time my husband and I relaxed and dtd 3 days in a row just for fun was the very time I got pregnant!

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for everyone else on this thread. Keep the faith and when you least expect it, it can happen!

@toomanyleggings I had that too at your stage - I DTD just Incase but then the OPKs went negative for about 3 days then I got a strong positive around day 18 so DTD again

I think the early ones were just left over HCG from miscarriage even though my pregnancy tests were negative while OPKs were still positive

Anyway my point is .... keep doing the OPKs because you could ovulate later in the cycle

Good luck 😊

Michette · 12/01/2020 19:28

@toomanyleggings ok so no ovulation is not positive it’s the hcg being picked up :/

BS9790 · 12/01/2020 18:54

@Michette glad you're feeling better today 😊
We are actively trying this month, straight after MC in December... haven't waited for first AF.
Not feeling like it's gonna be the month for us, and that's OK. When we fell pregnant last time, I just knew!
AF not due til 31st Jan using pre MC cycle length, it feels like a lifetime away... 😂

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 18:11

Actually I've just done a pregnancy test and it is still positive although fainter. The pregnancy test I did yesterday must have been rubbish as I could barely see the line on that. Top one is an ovulation test bottom is pregnancy test. Hmmm how confusing

@MilsCookie he has children already and I have one dc. We don't have any together yet but I'm hoping

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 17:31

@Michette funnily enough the month I conceived my daughter was the month I had no ovulation pain

Michette · 12/01/2020 17:05

@toomanyleggings it looks positive to me. And when my opk was dark the ovulation pain started shortly after so perhaps you will feel the same. Keep testing three times a day if you can to see the peak :) and obviously enjoy the BDing !!

I counted 8 so far actively trying so hope to see more BFP by the end of the month 🐣

@MilsCookie for opk i use Femometer of amazon it s cheap and lots of them for daily testing :)

MilsCookie · 12/01/2020 16:50

@Anny27 😀 hopefully you have caught this month then! That’s interesting, I too had a lot more EWCM than usual last month, which was around 13 days after I had the surgery. I was SO tempted to dtd then but wanted to have one period before we tried again! Yeah maybe this month things have been pushed back a few days! Just wanna know what’s going on with my body so I’m very tempted to order OPKs for next month if it doesn’t work out this month! Which ones do you use?

OP posts:
Anny27 · 12/01/2020 16:44

@MilsCookie we have DTD every day for the last 3 days, exhausted haha! I have had quite a lot of EWCM -much more than usual weirdly! I ovulated a few days later than i usually would so perhaps yours might be delayed slightly? Hopefully not!

MilsCookie · 12/01/2020 16:40

@Anny27 eeek so exciting! Have you been doing plenty of BDing?! What’s your cm been like, if you don’t mind me asking?! 🙊🤣 I still don’t seem to have much so don’t think I’m ovulating. Even though post mc I would usually ovulate around this day (CD18). I have had that weird twinge feeling again today in my left side so hoping that’s it, but really got no clue 😩

OP posts:
Anny27 · 12/01/2020 16:36

@toomanyleggings then I would say very nearly positive, either tonight or tomorrow I would say it will be peak :)

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 16:36

The bottom darker line is the test line. I don't feel much like I'm ovulating though

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 16:33

Sorry I wasn't clear. That's an opk today. I tested with a pregnancy test yesterday and that was only a ghost of a line

Ejb86 · 12/01/2020 16:31

@Michette this is my first cycle ttc, after 16week mmc in September.

Anny27 · 12/01/2020 16:30

@toomanyleggings if you are only 10 days past MC then it could be that the OPK is picking up hcg as well, or you could be ovulating soon after, its not unhesrd of. If that is an OPK then it's very nearly positive :)

@MilsCookie I ovulated today so tww starts tomorrow (need to confirm with temp rise in the morning though!) Hope you ovulate soon lovely xx

MilsCookie · 12/01/2020 16:26

@toomanyleggings Hey lovely, I don’t use OPKs so I could be wrong, but as you used a pregnancy test it will only detect the HCG hormone, rather than the LH hormone which shows up before ovulation. This suggests to me that your HCG hormone levels are still high post mc. I still got a faint positive line on a pregnancy test two weeks after my ERPC. A week later I tested again and it was negative, so it takes a while for the hormone to completely go. That being said, it doesn’t mean you aren’t ovulating in that time, but I would maybe use an OPK to see if you are. Not sure if that’s correct so maybe see what the other ladies say 😊

OP posts:
Emilyr94 · 12/01/2020 16:24

To me that’s a positive pregnancy test if that’s what you’ve used!!

toomanyleggings · 12/01/2020 16:10

Ladies, does that look like a positive ovulation test? I tested with a pregnancy test and only a ghost of a line but I'm not sure. Surely I can't be ovulating this early. I'm 10 days past erpc
